I don't know, actually. I didn't think to check when I was in HMV last, but that would be worth a look. I haven't heard of anyone saying anything, though. If you do pop in, let us know.

The best deal atm for DualShocks is this. It's a black DS3 with a 90-day trial of PS Plus for £39.99. When you add it up, it's actually the best deal around for the controller because the 90-day trial is about £12 normally, making the pad £28. It's something to consider, at least.

Well i have two and the 2nd one rarely ever gets used to be fair, and they are both relatively new, but would be nice to have a 3rd/4th so me and friends can play a few multiplayer games.

Not prepared to pay more than £20...so really gotta hope that HMV are pratically giving them away!...here's hoping!

Gave in and downloaded Guacamelee!, seems awesome so far Smilie brilliant funny dialogue and references everywhere, the references aren't even subtle! I've seen a poster with luchadors based on Link (sporting a Majora's Mask) and MegaMan, as well as Metroid statues and a Chozo Statue (aptly named "Choozo Statue")

You can still right away that the developers of Guacamelee love legacy video games, despite it being a Sony exclusive. It's even called a "metroid-vania" on Sony's official blog. Are they allowed to do that? Smilie

Haha, why not? Look at the interest it's generated from Metroidvania lovers. Glad you jumped in before me, but after hearing those thoughts, I think I'll take the plunge too : D

I wondered if there was any weird law that prevented Sony from using the word "Metroid" to market one of their exclusives, but I'm not complainin.

More amazing references to video games (mostly Nintendo) that I'll put in spoilers for people who would rather keep them a surprise. Literally a reference a minute Smilie it's gaming history in here and it isn't even subtle.

At the rate they're popping up I've prolly missed some, I'm not even far into the game.

Yes mate.

Castle of Illusion coming to PSN this summer

Mickey Mouse is returning to star in Castle of Illusion, a fantastical HD reimagining of the classic Sega Mega Drive game. The game is scheduled to release in summer of 2013.

We know that Castle of Illusion has a special place in many gamers' hearts and Sega Studios Australia is putting lots of care into this new 2D/3D game. Our plan is to deliver a fully reimagined experience that takes advantage of the power of PS3 with all new graphics and new adventures, while at the same time making sure that the game maintains the Disney magic that the original Castle of Illusion captured in 1990.

We have also been working very closely with the director of the original game, who is now at Disney Interactive. We are having a blast working with her to realise many of the elements that were intended for the original game, but couldn't be achieved until now due to the technical limitations of previous generation consoles. If you have played the original game, you will also see that we have kept intact many of the major iconic elements of the game that helped define this groundbreaking game at the time of its original release.

Look out for our developer interviews and behind the scenes videos soon, as the Sega Studios Australia team and members of the original game development team share their experience working on Castle of Illusion.

Also confirmed for XBLA and Steam, interestingly the rating board leak also implied it was headed to WiiU and Vita, but those platforms are nowhere to be seen in official material yet. Smilie

Also worth noting that apparently SEGA Studios Australia are heading this, which is weird considering SEGA recently announced they'd be closing soon and they also made some bad games.
Either way, cautiously looking forward to it.

Beat Guacamelee. That was awesome. So many Easter eggs!
Something weird happened to me in the final boss, though. I'd already died a few times on him and realised I needed to go through a bit of trial and error to learn his attacks and how to dodge them etc. Then on about my fifth go, for some reason he just stood there doing nothing. I think he was in his stunned pose, but he was doing absolutely nothing, and I could just pound his health all the way down to zero. So I kind of had an easy run on the final boss in the end, which was weird as hell.

He seems to have some kind of pattern where he either does loads in quick succession or doesn't do much. I usually found that when he spat those blue bullets, he would end up being stationary a little more than usual, but when he breathed fire or smashed the ground he would attack more regularly. Or maybe it's just luck? Either way it's a tough boss.

I'm near the end on my Hard Mode run atm, but the final area is way too hard already x-x

Cheers, Konami.

Though it's a shame The Twin Snakes will forever be forgotten.

Gematsu.

Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection for PlayStation 3.

Due out in June, the collection includes Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (trophy patch applied). Additionally, it will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.

"We wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "With the collection's multiple titles, players can truly see how Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today."

Weird and kind of funny to see yet another MGS collection coming out right after the previous HD collection, I hope a lot of people aren't feeling too screwed Smilie

Might actually pick this one up, shame that Portable Ops isn't there though.

It's got the original MGS VR mission in?! Man I'm actually tempted to buy it O.o

PS4 Launch Line-Up Will Be the Most Impressive of Any PlayStation

The PS2's and PS3's weren't exactly brilliant so I should think so.

I wonder if E3 will persuade me to get one on or around launch.

Nothing will compare to the bundle I got back then.

Disruptor, Olympic Soccer, Tunnel B1 and Thunderstorm Firehawk 2.

Disruptor in particular was a cracking Doom clone. I miss live action videos. And Olympic Soccer is the most fun I've had in a footie sim. The delayed and awesome commentary made it.

Depending on what MGS5 is going to be all about then this could be a little pointless?

I am little annoyed as i only recently picked up the HD collection... Smilie , i guess i am only really missing the VR training games which I liked but don't care too much about. I wouldn't really be bothered to play through Metal Gear or Metal Gear 2.

It is a shame they couldn't get a HD Version of the Twin Snakes as well as the original though. That might have been worth buying then, although to fit that all on one disc might be a stretch!

Looks cool except those analogs look really ugly. I'd imagine they'll be quite comfortable though.
