Ah yeah, now that you mention it. Smilie Thanks.

Concerning Shadow of the Eternals, the crowdfunding is actually a little scary, because unlike kickstarter, if the company does not reach it's goal, you don't get your money back. Plus, after reading the "Terms of Use", the donation details are a little sketch.

In section 1, it states "Precursor Games will accept donations immediately upon receipt; there is no minimum aggregate goal for funding. A donation cannot be cancelled or returned once it has been completed, whether or not Precursor Games completes the Game or fulfils the specified reward."

And in section 3, it states "3. No Obligation. Precursor Games will use its commercially reasonable efforts to develop and produce the Game, and will apply all donations to the development and production of the Game and the other rewards. However, circumstances outside of Precursor Games' control may make it impossible for Precursor Games to complete production of the Game or other rewards. Precursor Games is committed to completing Shadow of the Eternals. However, in the event that Precursor Games cannot raise enough money to develop this project, all donations will refunded to their respective contributors."

So which is it? If the game isn't completed, will contributers get their money back or not?

Plus, section 3 has been changed since I first read it. Under the "No Obligation", it used to say that even with the donations, Precurser games is not obligated to finish the game, and donations would not be ruturned, but that has since been changed

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

EU eShop updates this week

Super Metroid for 30p! Great that Miiverse will finally have a Metroid community.
Unfortunately it's only optimised 50Hz like Kirby, with a fixed aspect ratio. I'm not sure if the 50 and 60Hz versions of Super Metroid were originally all that different, but it's still a shame. Maybe it'll be updated for the actual VC release.

Also, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is getting a permanent digital price drop; if you like fighting games I highly highly recommend as it's imo one of the best there is.

Some sound effects cut short in the PAL version of Super Metroid (such as when you use a save station pod for example) which means it was sped up quite a bit to match the 60Hz version. Remember how in some of the PAL Donkey Kong Country games the sound effect of the monkeys knocking the inside of the barrel they're in cut short? It's the same thing here, but nothing too major, really. In my opinion it was a good conversion. (*cough* check out my speedrun *cough*)

And actually, I think there was a problem with the audio in the optimized 50Hz version of Kirby's Adventure, the way it's emulated on Wii U. It always seemed to me that certain parts of the music tracks were off in some way, even compared to the optimized 50Hz one we got on the Wii VC, but it could be my imagination.

I just recently finished up Epic Mickey 2 on Wii U. I know I'm probably the only one who thinks this, since I've seen all of you say you hate this series, but I actually enjoyed the first and second game. And it sucks that Junction Point went out of buisness, because now we won't get to see a sequel. And it also hurts even more because the second game ended on a cliffhanger. Awwwww. Smilie

PS: I also experienced this weird glitch with the final boss, where the music stopped playing when I died.

Just played the RE Revelations demo and honestly there's something really off about the wii u version. Tried  the 360 version and it seems to run smoother with less framerate drop and the controls feel more responsive. I'm kinda annoyed cause I was planning on getting the wii u version but these problems are making me change my mind >.<

I didn't notice anything wrong about the Wii U version.. but then again, I haven't tried the 360 demo yet.

I don't care for Unmasked right now, I just want them to release Unlimited for the Wii U in Europe first... :/ But considering this press release only mentions Americas and Australia.. I'm pretty worried that we won't get either Unlimited or Unmasked now... it's a shame, because I loved the first two Scribblenauts.

Don't laugh at the poor kid, when I first played Metroid on NES, I faced the same question (I was 4 mind you Smilie)

It still shocks me that in this day and age, some people still think Samus is called "Metroid", despite all the exposure she's had in games like Smash Bros and games that try to bring out her human side like Other M-

Actually, nevermind, I think most people who played that game understandably blotted its portrayal of Samus from their memories.

I was just making light of the matter! Smilie Honestly, Miiverse is great for players that get stuck. Smilie

Also, those referring to Samus as Metroid remind me of the people that think Link is called Zelda.

Just did a bit of a comparison now between the two versions. Played the Wii U version on the GamePad and 360 version on the TV at the same time. Doesn't seem to be any noticeable differences in framerate and the controls felt fine to me on both versions. Perhaps I'm overlooking something, but everything seems to be fine to me.

People have also reported jittery characters in both versions, which I can't say I've noticed either. Smilie

Anyone who thinks the bad Wii U support is unprecedented and will kill Nintendo, here's an article from 7 years ago.

The Nintendo 64 and GameCube both had pathetic third-party support.

No doubt about it - the development community has a major hard-on for the system's motion-sensative, TV-remote-like controller. "Everyone who sees and, more importantly, plays with the Revolution controller is excited about it" says Backbone Entertainment (Death Jr.) Senior Producer Chris Charla. "And developers are absolutely no exception" But while gamemakers are eager to start a Revolution, several outside Japan are still waiting on Mario's bunch for the proper tools. "Few- if any_ Western developers have Revolution Development Hardware, so it's not an easy step to start taking risks in that direction" says President Randy Pitchford of Gearbox Software, makers of the first person shooter franchise Brothers in Arms. "As I learn more about Revolution, we may discover that there is an audience that can support an idea that I'm interested in. If that's the case, I won't be afraid to invest in it. I think that most developers and publishers that aren't directly part of Nintendo are sort of in the same situation" What's taking so long, Nintendo?

I said this before, and I said it in my blog, Nintendo have always had bad 3rd party support, the Wii was lucky due to its outrageous success. It's got nothing to do with the Wii U's power or anything of the sort, it's just an age-old stigma Nintendo need to shake off, and hopefully they can do it before we die of old age!

Every gen since I was a kid, Nintendo gets the same doomsaying. People can deny it if they want and pretend the N64 and GC were eras of prosperity for Nintendo, but things have always been this way, maybe they always will be, and Nintendo will still be fine, chugging along doing their own thing forever. If you're a Nintendo fan and you genuinely believe the Wii U will kill them, cheer up, because they've been through 8 solid years of bad support in the past and come out still making awesome games.

I've noticed a bit of difference between both versions but after playing with the wii u pro controller, I'm finding it much more enjoyable.

Do list these differences, quite interested!

It just seems like with the wii u pad that there's more lag input when you aim with the right stick. So when you aim it doesn't do it quite as smooth therefore making it harder to aim more precisely. After trying the Pro controller though it just feels much better. I dunno maybe it's a tv issue or something but I've been hearing other people complain about these kinds of issues as well.

I had that impression with Super Metroid recently. it seemed to me that when playing the game with the gamepad and ON the gamepad, there was lag between my actions and their reflection on screen. However when playing with my SNES classic controller for Wii, those problems didn't arise.

I've never been one to notice such things.. so yeah can't say I've noticed any of this either, having player Super Metroid with both controllers. I'm a weird person. Smilie

I just went to the Download Management screen on my Wii U and noticed that a System Update is downloading.

No idea what it is about. I'll post back here if I notice anything significant.

EDIT:

No. It's just one of those minor system/software stability updates that only does minor behind the scenes adjustments.

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/49848/wii-u-system-update-goes-live-what-does-it-do/

This came to my attention today.

It is just a game listing that popped up on Amazon UK.

Obviously don't know if true, but these listings tend to turn out to be accurate.

Don't mean to hype something that may be nothing, but if true it is a megaton E3 Nintendo spoiler, so only click if you want to know now.

It's not something that was previously on people's radar or something people expect might be announced like a Metroid Prime 4.

So Nintendo's E3 Direct has been confirmed for 3pm on the 11th of June.

Are your bodies ready?
