Espcially as I pre-ordered over an hour ago and I still haven't received my email confirmation, perhaps I'm just impatient with these things.

I'm waiting for Dutch companies to start stunting with prices. I'll probably get the black one, but I'm also interested in a possible bundle with NSMBU.
So far it's €350 for the premium package... that's €100 more than the Wii was. =/

I'm also not sure how trustworthy that site is, has anyone used it before and knows how good it is? Gonna pre-order it anyway for now I think.EDIT: For some reason the Order Confirmation says it's only £212 total? Is it just not showing VAT or
EDIT: Oh nevermind. Just realised you did the same thing yourself. Oh and btw, I got my email straight away.

Wow, Gamestop and Best Buy are already sold out of the 32GB Wii U. Didn't think it would start to happen quite this fast, though I reckon they'll get more units as the launch comes closer. The obvious reason why this is happening is that everybody wants the sexy looking black Wii U.
This makes me wonder how this launch will look though.

Maybe when I'd pre-ordered they'd already closed office hours or somethin. I just hope I don't lose this order or anything = x=
I just placed an order as well hoping that it would come through as £212.49, even if it was at £250 it wouldn't be too bad to be fair.
Not sure what else i would pick up at release though, may wait until the Christmas/Boxing day sales to pick up games. £45 for a game these days is criminal.
Call of Duty, Wonderful 101 have caught my eye but the line up is a little shoddy if you ask me...between launch window - March looks a little underwhelming. If no better deal pops up on retail i may just wait until next year when games like Smash will no doubt be released!

But yeah from Nintendo's side of things at least the lineup is defo shoddy, especially as 2D Mario isn't the special event it used to be.
However the third party lineup is pretty badass, no other modern console has launched with such strong third party games if you ask me (ports or not, any other Nintendo console wouldn't have half these third party games but would have to rely entirely on some first party remakes/ports like the Wii and 3DS had)

Btw, good luck with Smash Bros. next year. Not that I wouldn't love that to happen either but considering it only entered development around half a year ago, there is almost no way it could be released in 2013 unless they cut corners everywhere and completely rush it.
EDIT: Damn you SuperLink, ninja'ing me like this.
About your points, I agree that Nintendo's line-up isn't as strong as it could easily be but isn't that what everybody has been asking for? Giving third party games a chance to shine, sell and find a home on their console? If Nintendo had Zelda, Metroid, 3D Mario or Smash Bros. at launch there is no way in hell the third party offerings could compete with that.

Still that asides I agree, Nintendo finally has strong third party support and they want to show it, to me that's the most important thing about the WiiU launch, showing people who disliked the Wii and its limited/gimmicky support that the WiiU is what they wanted the Wii to be, a Nintendo console that can act like their first console not just their side console.
Hmmm still no confirmation email from the site for me either Superlink, my tracking number isn't working on the site either...makes me feel like we might have not got one secured or might have to wait for someone to wake up in the office! Either way, it should be automated so....
Yea i guess it was wishful thinking on my behalf to get Smash next year. Despite there being a fair few games being released i can't see something to justifying a new console purchase. Looking at COD i could just get that on the PS3 and even then i'm not that addicted to the series as others are.
Gutted THQ aren't releasing WWE13 on the Wii U to be fair.
I guess NintendoLand has shaped up to be better than i thought it would be.
Ooooh i'm very indecisive right now...

It'd be nice to have one or two more AAA titles from Nintendo to look forward to, even if it's just a Zelda HD Collection or something, people would eat that up so bad.

Just because nothing is announced right now doesn't mean that nothing's coming. Nintendo seems to be very careful with their announcements as of late and is still only focusing on the launch window. Personally, I think that's a good idea because it will keep expectations lower while giving the competition less time to react. On top of that, they can save those big announcements that will generate a ton of hype whenever they need them the most, especially next year to fend off Microsoft's and Sony's next consoles.
That's true. I guess i was just really hoping for a great Wii U exclusive, but there isn't one yet that i can see that will grab my attention so much.
We could still be shocked but i think Nintendo should play their ace in the hole within the next month, should they have one hidden up their sleeve that is!
I don't want to be part of that early adopter market if Ninty just hold off a year to stave off Microsoft and Sony and then release a hoard of 1st party games all in one go!
According to the latest bits of wisdom from Pachter the Wii U price points
are appropriate given likely demand from Nintendo's core fanbase, but believe that pricing will be too high to sustain demand given current competition from other consoles and tablets. We don't expect a price cut until summer 2013, at the earliest, but do expect a cut prior to holiday 2013. Any prospective price cut will depend largely on competition, which we expect to materialize in the coming weeks.
Honestly, the only real concern about the Wii U I have is if Pachter is backing it.

One of my concerns with the Wii U is the two screens. A few of the games seem like the big TV is wasted, because you have to play them on the gamepad screen. I did see that Rayman Legends can use the pro controller so I'm guessing it has regular controls still, hopefully. I'd like to experience that game on the big screen, with visuals like that.
Pre-ordering at HMV, wanna go to the launch event.
Got my email from Expansys this morning! Everything seems to be in order with the order *badumtss*. Though it no longer says the price on the order status so maybe the £212 was a glitch oh well, still the best price on any site thus far.
But yeah while Nintendo's selection is currently a little lackluster they really should be showing more for us to look forward to before March if they want to keep the ball rolling.
As for third party exclusives you've got Rayman, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta (and ZombiU I guess), all three look great and I'm sure there's more on the way too.

Marzy said:This only seems to be the case for multiplayer/Nintendo Land games and like SL said, the GamePad's screen is probably great anyways. I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to play some of these games exclusively on the GamePad. It also means that when my cousin comes round, (if he wants to play the Xbox) I can play the Wii U, using just the GamePad and he can play on the Xbox.

Everyone should find a way to maximise the potential of having two screens, given time and creativity.
I don't question the functionality of the second screen, the amount of people that do use multiple devices these days are alarming (and who said boys can't multitask)
However as a solo gamer myself the pad might seem a bit redundant in my world as i rarely have friends over to play games and have a nice size TV to boot.
Are games really going to be output in 1080p though? Not even the PS3 or 360 do that, so i would be intrigued to know if COD will be outputted in 1080p as they mentioned in the press conference.

I got mine come through too, although i took a screen print of the £212 price just to see if i could wrangle anything out of it come closer to the time.
The email confirmation does say that they will confirm the price closer to the time though...so i am a little disappointed in that.
I do think that the average prices will drop to £249 for the premium and £269 for the Zombii U package given the power of the supermarkets. If that was the case i would keep that preorder for the sake of a £5er to miss the rush on the day!
Keeping all my pre-orders anyway as the sites will always charge me the lowest price they offer in the run up (and of course cancel the most expensive ones!)
As for games running in 1080p, while the system is capable of running in 1080p as Nintendo said, very few games actually run in 1080p natively, it'll probably be much the same for WiiU games, maybe more games will do it in the future but otherwise it'll just be optional upscaling like the 360 does. (I think my PS3 automatically sets it to the closest resolution to native to maybe the WiiU will do that too)
( Edited 16.09.2012 15:51 by SuperLink )
Black Ops 2 runs in 1080p I think. Not sure about 2 player online though.
OMG I cannot wait for the WiiU to arrive now.

Tekken WiiU quite cheap on Zavvi. Less than the other console versions on Mega monday.

The site says its been going for like 12 years or something, but it's true that I hadn't heard of it before.
EDIT: Also ordered Tekken from Zavvi, great price, hopefully it is a launch release too!
