Yeah, it's unfortunate that Nintendo can't give an RRP anymore (Damn EU courts). But I'm expecting £230+.
Tbh at this point I'm just worried that the WiiU versions of Tekken and SEGA Racing will have less than the other versions (i.e. no pre-order bonus or special versions or anything)
I really wanted them if I miss them cause of curiosity of the WiiU versions I'll be MAD..
New Trailers.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Trailer:
One thing I don't get from all this is WiiU hate, really.
It's not the best launch ever, but it's certainly not weak.. Nintendo are pushing the HD features of the console, I'm hoping this means their first party titles will be the HD Nintendo we've been hoping for.
I know people wanted to be impressed by the controller, but if you're not then so what? You play a console for its games, right? Not its gimmicks. You don't even have to use the pad, you can use some perfectly ergonomic classic controllers instead and play some HD games running at fps, with a bunch of Nintendo-y things too.
I personally can't even say if I'll even like the controller or looking from one screen to the other or anything.. but if not, the system sounds great anyway. Everyone's been wanting an HD Nintendo system that will last and it sounds like this is it.
So.. yeah, I just really don't understand the hate.
If anything I'm more optimistic about Nintendo than I have been in a while.
The most hilarious thing I'm observing right now is people complaining about Nintendo offering either games or services that the other two already do and coming up with original responses like "Welcome to 2012, Nintendo." If Nintendo didn't get multiplats like AC III or Darksiders II right out of the gate and didn't have stuff like Nintendo TVii, people would be complaining just the same that Nintendo is ignoring all that.
Only the internet can suddenly turn something like good third-party support into a negative.
Is Epic Mickey 2 Wii cancelled? Or is it coming alongside Wii U vers?

Yeah, didn't think it would. Just checking.
Hey, Wipeout 3 for Wii U. Should help the lack of F-Zero within the first year.
Edit: haha idiot! It's that fucking Total Wipeout obstacle TV show thing. What am I thinking? Liverpool Studio is Sony and got canned this year.
I got excited. Sorry.

Aw that must have been a kick in the nuts :c
GAME.co.uk have the white WiiU for £260 and the black one for £310
sorry but fuck you that's a rip off compared to other regions, I pray to GOD that the prices become more competitive or go down in other places.
Nintendo should be able to set RRPs sigh.
I've noticed that Transformers Prime and 007 Legends look like they could be done on the Wii, unless it's just the style of 007 that's making me think this. Not to sure about Skylanders in that respect, but Black Ops 2 looks good.
Edit1:

Edit 2: Shopto have the Basic at £250 and Premium at £280.
Edit 3: Now up to more than GAME. £296 and £324.
http://shopto.net/wiiu
Edit 4: £250 for Base, and £300 for premium on Amazon now.

Noo why did ShopTo raise their price ;-; I wish I'd caught it for £280..
Man this is distressing..........
ShopTo - Premium Bundle With ZombiU
This is pretty good for £325.00! I think it also comes with a Pro Controller too though it doesn't actually say (though is part of the bundle everywhere else).
Anyone spotted the ZombieU bundle better elsewhere?
Plus it's worth £8.00 in ShopTo Reward Points which is an extra nice bonus!!

Determined to get it for £280 or less.
I got the black one pre-ordered since months now, Amazon.de were nice enough to change the already existing pre-orders into the proper premium model, so I'm good. Got it for €350 (happens to be exactly £280), though I'm hoping there'll be some competitive pricing as we get closer to launch. My 3DS was €250 at first but then went down all the way to €222 at one point, which was really nice. Hoping something similar might happen here.

I really hope so too. Pre-ordered the £300 Premium console on Amazon for now, and will wait for the regular Premium to be put up on ShopTo and pre-order that too. will switch/cancel pre-orders around as convenient/cheapest.
Also I'll post any good console/game deals I find in this thread, would appreciate if other people would post if they find the console/games cheap anywhere too wanna be quick to snag them at a good price.
EDIT: Dudes the regular Premium WiiU is on ShopTo for £296, pre-ordered that one too.
EDIT2: According to GAME and Amazon, the ZombiU pack has everything from the regular Premium pack, including Nintendo Land, as WELL as ZombiU and a Pro Controller.
Depending on how much the Pros are in retail I may pick one of these up instead, even tho I'm not too keen on ZombiU.

As things stans right now, I'm more interested in getting the ZombiU bundle, since I'm interested in ZombiU already, regardless of the bundle.
That presentation raised my interest for some titles in particular too! There are quite a few launch titles I'm interested in. It's looking good right now, especially for Japan with Dragon Quest X coming for it, as well as Monster Hunter allowing cross player with the 3DS version. This might just be a winning combination. A Pokémon game is sure to come to WiiU, eventually as well. That's 3 of the biggest selling franchises in gaming history (in Japan anyway), all coming to one single system.
My biggest disappointment in this presentation is that we still don't know for sure whether we'll be able to play Wii games on the Gamepad or not (especially Virtual Console titles, since that would be ace...)

But yeah I hope that sort of thing happens too.
That would be amazing, no? Instant Majora's Mask portable. It's for this reason they should allow GC games to be bought online. Wind Waker portable? Metroid Prime portable? That alone is worth buying the system for.
*Edit*
Awww SHIT.
Wii, WiiWare, and Virtual Console games will be supported on Wii U much the same way that GameCube titles were supported on Wii, without any special features or GamePad support. In an interview with Nintendo of America, they stated that the Virtual Console transfer process was not confirmed to be available at launch, and would require both systems to be present and an SD card. The transfer process works much in the same way the DSi to 3DS process works today.

That's proper grim.
I hope they add functionality for this at a later date, the lack of multiplayer for 3DS VC games is awful too.

By the way, I'm not sure anyone posted this :
http://kotaku.com/5942953/the-folks-behind-xenoblade-are-making-a-wii-u-game
Sure hope it's something huge like Xenoblade was, but this time with all the graphical oomph to shut some people's mouth about how it has cool gameplay, cool design, cool story, cool concept and all... but shitty graphics (not that I personally think that was the case, mind you).
EDIT: Dang, on the subject of transferring VC and Wiiware stuff, if both consoles need to be present, I bet I'll need to update my Wii and lose all the cool homebrew stuff I'm able to do with it, such as playing imports. Bummer...

That Monolith Soft is working on a Wii U game has been known for over a year now. We even got a teaser artwork back then. I've read that it's a completely new game though, not tied to any existing series. No Baten Kaitos 3 for me then.
This reveal is what that should have done at E3, that would have created so much more buzz, Nintendo don't seem to know how to market this system! I had no intention of getting one a month ago, now I'm definitely considering it depending on what the price ends up as.
As far as VC and saves stuff, I'm not really that bothered. I really opted-out of Wii in a big way, having avidly followed NES/SNES/64/GC: Wii U is starting to look like the console that levels the playing-field properly. They should have done it six years ago. I reckon it's a shame they've skipped on HD support and forward-thinking processing power for so long. Now they're very much out-of-sync with Sony and Microsoft's windows. It's basically the same strategy as the Wii, which is a draw-back and positive. I'm all for innovation (it would be nice for Nintendo if tablets proved to be the future like motion control kind of did with Wii during the 360/PS3 era, which they later emulated) but to be honest, motion controls never seem to have produced any excellent games- that I know of at least. That makes me think that Nintendo have been just un-necessarily holding back on the best hardware for proper gaming, when they could have been at the higher end of the spectrum with Sony and MS. Maybe Sega taught Nintendo that 'three's a crowd' (Saturn/PS1/64) (Dreamcast/PS2/360/GC) I like the look of Sonic Racing Transformed. But does anyone else agree that this might have been Nintendo's angle? (when they tangented away from competing for the best hardware ala Wii + Motion emphasis, in order to shift away from that side of the market((which the thirteen-year old me frowns upon because, yes I'll say it: a game like HD next-gen Ocarina of Time style Zelda, for example, is a pant-jizzingly good prospect)))
And don't get me wrong, I know the Wii has produced some classics. But given what 360/PS3 owners have, what's wrong with wanting to play Mario Galaxy in 1080p? Seems well-overdue and it shows, because given how much I enjoyed Nintendo franchises, at the right price I'm definitely in on Wii-U.
Edit: I know it's not happening, but if the Wii U could play Wii games in HD I'd put down my money right this instant. There's quite a few games like Mario Kart Wii - which I've just never bothered with because I was so put off by Wii's annoyances - like not being fully integrated with the best visual quality of the TV set that's been in my room the last five years. If they were to offer them as downloads on the system I'd be sold also. I read somewhere that it's a solid-state hard-drive in the system? Is that confirmed?
Edit 2: Wind Waker on VC, in HD:

31 game round up.
@The Strat Man: The Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2 and almost as powerful as the Xbox with a ton of amazing games from both Nintendo and third parties and look how that worked out for Nintendo. They went for the power route twice and it didn't work out for them, the PS1 and PS2 outsold the N64 and GC like crazy. Heck, the GC was even outsold by the original Xbox from a new competitor. They needed something completely different and that's what the Wii did. Nintendo, at the time, didn't have the money to continue the mad hardware race with Sony and Microsoft. They are a gaming only company after all, they have no other departments that can cover potential losses like Sony or Microsoft. Now they're in a much better position to make high-budget HD games, which is something to really look forward to.
On another note, reactions like these from gamers are just sad...I'm glad C3 isn't full of this.
Well, without Nintendo's input, Bayonetta 2 would be dead, SEGA cancelled it a while ago.
