I've played online for maybe 4-5 hours total now and I found that lag only occurs when I play with people who have a sucky connection. Most of the time, it's pretty fluid. I'm glad that it seems to lag for both players equally though, as you would pretty much lose the fight everytime you get a lag spike.

Been playing Pilotwings and I'm really liking it. As most reviews have pointed out though, it's really sucky that Nintendo lazily stuck to Wuhu Island. With the size of the cart, they probably could have put about 5 big locations on there. I managed to get it for a good price but this really shouldn't have been a full price game. Budget release. Smilie I'm expecting free DLC in the future Smilie

My replacement 3DS arrived today. Will update the code thread or summat when I get round to setting up wifi. Smilie

I guess I just have a sucky connection then... I hope I can fix it somehow.

Thanks for the reply, but I know about the Focus Attack and even FADC already from various strategy guides. The thing I meant was when you get knocked down, you get up and perform a special move immediately. There was one guy who played as Ken who constantly hit me with Shoryuken's while he got up after I knocked him on the ground. Is that specific to Ken or is there any trick behind that? I know that you can recover quickly from falling but no guide seems to mention that.

Glad to see so many people here having the game. Smilie Looking forward to some awesome matches. Smilie

Oh okay.
A counter is when you preform a special move as soon as you get off from the ground or as soon as you blocked an attack. It has to be timed perfectly. It easier preforming a counter off the floor than from a blocked attack. You have to make sure you leave no frames open from the block to the special.

Log into your router settings and set your 3DS as the highest priority.

Hmm..so it's all about timing only again. Btw, do you play with the d-pad or the circle pad? I'm using the circle pad right now. I want to use the d-pad but it gets really uncomfortable when I want to use the L button too when playing with the d-pad. I think I might try getting used to that somehow because the circle pad feels really inaccurate during hectic fights sometimes, so much that even jumps don't seem to come off when I have to jump over endless Hadouken's from some players who apparently don't know any other move.Smilie

You should use them both SirLink, but use the D-Pad primarily. Try uisng the Circle pad for certain characters that have rotation and charging moves.

Try switching over your (H)ard punch, over to one of the face buttons, using the control settings. Go into training and practise with the new controls, enjoy trying out top level Shoryukens, working out their distance and how they travel over fireballs and other moves. Learn to time Focus attacks, looking closely at the other player when you do. Don't make them obvious, try to disguise them. If your picking Ryu you have to learn how to draw other players into your Hard Shoryuken. Do the challenges for your favourite characters as much as possible also.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot that you can customize the controls. Best would be for me if I could just map one attack I don't need to the L button but I need both light attacks to throw, both medium attacks to FA and I use the hard kick very often too, so it's kinda stupid. :/ I'm planning on using Ryu only till I (hopefully) get really good at the game, so I might switch over to the d-pad completely for the time being.

I use the D-Pad and if you're using Ryu you should too. It just takes a while getting use to it. Instead of moving your thumb down to use the D-pad reposition your entire left hand a little lower so that your index finger can still reach the tip of the L button. Thats how I play, plus it's easier to pull off specials and jump forward with the D-Pad.

I can't use the D-pad, because it is really difficult to use because of the position it is in. I have gotten used to the circle pad. Which I Think is fine. Works well.

I don't think the D-Pad's too low.. I just prefer using the Circle Pad for rotational moves. I know nothing else about SF, I suck at it. >.>

The only one I'm decent at is SSB, but that isn't a regular fighter. I probably suck at that too now, since I haven't played it for ages. Smilie

yeah. I am up for a few. It would be easy if I had you on MSN, because then I can just ask you when I am not on C3. Smilie

Did you accept my MSN invite? o:

anyone online wanna play some street fighter

I would, but my 3DS is on charge and I'm about to go to bed. I'm shite at it anyways. xD

I got another StreetPass hit today, yahoo!
I also has a question: Can you only use the Miis you collect via StreetPass once in Quest? D:

I hired like 7 heroes today and lost them all. I hate that they get fatigued or flee from battle and then you can't use them again...

I understand only being able to use the Miis once for Puzzle Swap, because it just makes sense, but Quest is gonna piss me off. Smilie

you can only use them once

You can only use someone else's Mii once but if you get a streetpass hit from the same guy again then their Mii will go up a level.

Can you only StreetPass with them once a day? If so, I'll StreetPass with them again tomorrow. It was my GAME store's 3DS I StreetPass'd with. Smilie
