Heh.. pee pee.
I always lol'd at Capcom's uses of PP. "Hey bro, how much PP do you have?"

So does Nintendo's....Pokemon....

Oh yeah, duh. Smilie Haven't really played a Pokémon game in a while.

from 3dsblog about black screen
what could be a possible cause was sent in by @SubElement, who said “I actually had two customers have a similar error with their DSi XL’s, only yesterday! Turned out to be their WiFi!” So, to anyone who has received this error, have you setup your WiFi? And could connectivity issues, for some reason be causing your 3DS to bug out?

Someone on the ONM forums posted this:

"Just got off the phone with them. 3DS systems affected by this problem are faulty and have to be sent to Nintendo before they will send you a replacement which will take 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. Thanks a lot Nintendo, I spend £200 on your console and this is how you treat your customers. Not the first time Nintendo's customer services have disappointed me either."

Considering so many people are having this problem, I feel Nintendo have really messed up. I'm just thankful my 3DS hasn't had this problem yet.

Surely it could just be returned to the retailer. Its within the first month, so the retailer must replace it and then deal with Nintendo

How can they be faulty to a point where they need to be replaced when there have been numerous reports of people fixing that issue themselves with different things? Smilie I don't get it.

There's also speculation that the firmware update caused this.

Sigh, I've taken my 3DS around Derby city centre a few times now, not a single streetpass hit. Smilie Don't know anyone else with a 3DS either. Smilie

And fortunately I haven't experienced this black screen of death thing myself, hopefully my 3DS is safe. ^_^

Have you tried walking into game/gamestation Smilie

I've yet to encounter the BSOD (wait....does this thing run on windows?) but if I do I'll be sure to contact amazon about it and go through them instead of nintendo.

Yup. And CEX. Smilie

The first time I walked through town hoping to activate street pass with some people, I realized my wireless was turned off at that time >.>

I've just arranged a replacement from Amazon. They initially tried to get me to go to Nintendo to get it fixed, but relented and I should have a replacement tomorrow. a 2 week wait is ridiculous on a new piece of hardware.

Just to be sure, I'm not going to update the replacement system until I know for sure the error is fixed. I don't know exactly whats been stored on the SD card other than photos, but if I just swap, it should be fine, right? I know I'll have a new friend code

I lol'd. Have a star for your misfortunes. Smilie

I've only taken my 3DS out with me when I've been to my local shop (wanted to use the pedometer in Nintendogs to get some items) but I didn't StreetPass with anyone. Hopefully going into town will be different. Especially GAME. Smilie

I tried it today and got 1 Streetpass hit, it was a girl too. =3

I doubt it, my bro hasn't updated his 3DS yet but he still got it.

Where abouts did you go with your 3DS?

University.

Finally got my 3DS today and I'm pretty impressed so far although I didn't have enough time to try everything out.

Played some Street Fighter and I kinda suck at it. Smilie That was pretty much expected though, maybe I get a little bit better overtime. If anyone, preferably my skill level, wants a few matches, add me. My FC already is in my profile, signature and in that handy topic by Phoenixus. Smilie

Added you Smilie I'm pretty crap tbh, so I'd enjoy a few games Smilie

I have two minor issues:

When playing SF I often find myself dragging the volume down unintentionally when using the D-Pad to play. This could easily happen in other games that use it also.

I really don't like the placement of the stylus holder, it's awkward having to reach over the lid to pull it out during play.

In fact, strike that, it's fucking annoying.

Added you too. I'd be up for a few rounds right now if you want. Smilie

@Squidboy: I might actually train myself to pull it out with my left index finger. Smilie It's indeed pretty annoying. I'm sure I'll get used to it/find a way around it though.

I agree.

In fact, most of the time I've ended up using my fingers to push buttons and such on the touch screen, simply because it's a hassle to get the stylus out.

Good Match there Sirlink, your timing is slightly off though Smilie Oh, and If I even so much as CATCH you using auto-block again, I will castrate you in your sleep! Smilie
