US Sales | Nintendos DS and Wii Lead PS3 and Xbox 360 for February [news]

Standout figures for me -

GBA is outselling PS3! Forget the price issue, the GBA should be dead because of the DS, yet it outsold the PS3. That is knucking futs.

The near final figures for the xbox and cube - there wasn't that much of a difference (3 million) between them. Why is it that people claim the cube failed - it clearly didn't. Considering how much money MS spent (& lost) on the system, it was the xbox that was a failure.

The GBA still sells because it is still a legendary name (like "PlayStation")

The Gameboy brand hasn't died just yet. Even if the consoles soon will...

And I hope that the Gameboy name is not terminated. I still cling to my belief that there will be a new version next year, playing Cube discs. It is an icon name that should not be allowed to die.

Irrespective of the name, it shouldn't being outselling the PS3 and for that matter, so close to the PSP. That is just embarrassing for Sony.

Also from those figures - if Nintendo can get their stock availability up and get some of the AAA titles on the market, the Wii will give the 360 figure a good run, closing the gap inside a year.

Wouldn't that be something! Closing the 360's year head start in one. It probably won't happen, but the Wii will likely gain some serious momentum.

And look at Zelda still flying off the shelves!

Amazing how Zelda on the GC, which has been out since December, out-sold the big new PS3 release of the month, Virtua Fighter 5. Bet Sega's kind of glad development of the 360 is already underway!
