Kingdom Come: Deliverance was, and still is, a pretty flawed action RPG, and yet it has a certain magic that has cemented it as a cult classic amongst genre fans. Its first DLC didn't receive the same kind of love, though, as it was just a decent side-quest, which didn't have much more to say than the rest of the missions available in the core game... and it was short... depressingly short. The second in line, The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon, which includes the fantastic, eponymous character, is, once again, a very short side-quest, albeit one that revolves around a sexy lass, rather than a boring, half-destroyed town. Will Henry's party-hard bro be enough to save this?
Sir Hans was undoubtedly the best encounter in the whole campaign of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. While he started as the typical aristocratic scum, whose only purpose seemed to be to remind Henry of his lowly status, he soon became an interesting, fun-loving friend of the blacksmith, with their short, but entertaining boy's-night-out being a highlight of the whole experience.
This alone would make anyone interested in this DLC, which can be started right after completing that mission where you pay a visit to the local bathhouse with Hans, is actually nothing more than another night out, where Hans Capon aims to win the heart of a lady - aided, of course, by poor ol' Henry, who, in typical fetch-quest fashion, must search around for everything that Hans might require to please his love interest.
Yes, the interaction with this bold gent instantly makes this DLC the better choice of the two, especially since the quality of the writing is much better, with dialogue offering a little bit of branching - but that doesn't mean that people are advised to buy it as, better or not, The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon makes the same exact mistakes as before.
The main issue is simply that the quest added is just that, a quest, not something that introduces any new, or at least upgraded, mechanics. Co-operating with Hans to do some medieval courting is sillier, more imaginative, and, generally, far more interesting than rebuilding a town, but it's not really something that should be sold as a DLC… especially since it's very short, maybe even more so than the first add-on, as some will be able to do everything on offer in less than two hours.
Once again, the DLC on offer is just another, very short side-quest that could easily be part of the core game, or at least part of a pack with more of those. The interaction with one of the most interesting characters of Kingdom Come: Deliverance is certainly a plus, but, in the end, that doesn't provide much incentive to try The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon out.
