Sadly mistakes are made and people are misled at times, and the recent Children of the Night concept artwork appears to be a perfect example of that. What are we talking about? Well, below all will be explained.
There has been some confusion over the recent pieces of concept art that Cubed3 was sent recently as searching across the Internet the exact same work was found on the Digital Art website by Marek Okon. It was revealed that Marek, who has won numerous awards for his stunning art work, has done work for Nibris and some samples were shown to Nibris for internal distribution only. Therefore, the work should not have been sent to Cubed3 without the proper authorisation and certainly should have at least come with some sort of 'do not publish' warning (as has happened with other confidential correspondence in the past).
In fact, The Children of the Night is still only in the concept stages itself, it has now been revealed, with the 'project' not yet past the initial ideas stage. This also should have been made transparent.
So, to clarify: Nibris has now attempted to set the record straight by stating the three pieces of art are "old graphics from one of our award-winning artists, and that they are not a part of any Nibris project". They were shown only to give an idea of the possible direction the proposed new DS project could go in. Nibris also re-iterates that it is "a company that has a goal to create games that reflect gamers' needs" and that "Nibris will do its best to fulfill gamers' expectations." As for people eager to share their thoughts on what they have seen of Double Bloob and ROTR, or even future projects, Nibris again re-states it is "always open to all suggestions and comments from both media and gamers - if anyone should have them, please feel free to contact our company through our website."
And if you are wondering who contacted Cubed3 to clear this up, it was Piotr Babieno, President of Nibris Ltd - also known as C3 user 'nibris'.
