Introducing New Smash Bros. Clone Touhou Super Smash Battles

Indie Studio From Soy Sauce are working on a Super Smash Bros. clone called Touhou Super Smash Battles.

The group have put together a game inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee, with Touhou characters, as part of a tribute to the Touhou Project and Nintendo's popular fighting series.

For those unfamiliar, a large amount of fan work has been created for Touhou, including games, music, animé and more - often approved, appreciated and endorsed by creator ZUN. Previous fan-driven efforts include Super Marisa Land, Touhouvania, Nitroid, Tacoman, Megamari.

Touhou Super Smash Battles features free-floating characters, wave-dashing, a "wake-up grab" move for grounded enemies, air grabs, spell cards and special moves when two characters grab one another at the same time.

The group are now raising funds on IndieGoGo to develop the game, with a $10,000 initial target.
