Ahead of E3 next week, SEGA have revealed new details on the pair of Nintendo-exclusive Sonic Boom games for Wii U and 3DS.
The Wii U release, known as Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, will focus on each of the five character's abilities, as the group work together to stop a new snake-like villain called Lyric. The core focus of the gameplay design will revolve around combat and new moves for Sonic and friends, including the new "Enerbeam", which acts like an electric grappling hook.
Sonic, as you'd expect, is the speed king, whilst Tails can hover over air currents and Knuckles can climb up walls to access specific areas.
"They are unlike any previous games featuring the iconic blue blur," said Hiroyuki Miyazaki, Chief Content Officer for the Sonic Bran, SEGA of America. The game will be available to play at this year's E3 Expo.
The 3DS version, Shattered Crystal, will take on a different approach, more in-line with the classic side-scrolling platformers. Click here for more details on Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal.
