Shantae and the Pirate's Curse Delayed

WayForward have confirmed a short delay for the much anticipated release of Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.

The 3DS eShop title, that promises classic side-scrolling platforming antics with a now powerless genie at the helm, has been postponed "a couple of months" for finishing touches. "Almost there!" exclaimed the studio in the update.

In Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, the poor genie is approached by once-rival Risky Boots, who teams up with Shantae in order to retrieve her lost genie magic - now scattered across the land into thirty shards.

The game is still on track for Q2 2014, with a planned date by the end of June at the latest - unless things change.
