No Mass Effect 3 DLC Planned for Nintendo Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With BioWare releasing additional DLC for Mass Effect 3 next month, Wii U owners are set to miss out.

Mass Effect 3 has had high praise on the Wii U, and despite a solid following from Nintendo players, won't receive the Citadel or Reckoning packs when they hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC players next month.

Speaking with IGN earlier this week, a BioWare representative noted that "there are no plans to bring Citadel or Reckoning to the Wii U at this time."

The studio may well bring the DLC out at a later date, but for now Wii U owners are once again an afterthought.

Are you a Mass Effect 3 Wii U owner? Would you have downloaded the DLC pack?

That's insane, they have the game running on WiiU alredy, so it requires virtually no effort for them to release a Wii U counterpart to their DLC... and then they will complain that the game isn't selling well on Wii U... of course it won't if they keep screwing Nintendo owners like that. Ubisoft is releasing their DLC for AC3 on Wii U, so why not EA?

At least Need For Speed Most Wanted will come with its DLC already available on-disc, sa that's a relief. I'm pre-ordering the latter ASAP, but Mass Effect 3, they're not close to seeing me buy it.

First they release ME Trilogy practically the same day, now no DLC? It's like they want their games to fail on Wii U.

On the positive side, I was told Mass Effect 3 for Wii U couldn't keep up with the Xbox version. When I played on Xbox I had frequent missing textures, occasional missing lines of dialogue, animations not playing or (more often) lagging, and in one case an entire cinema not playing. I've seen none of that on the Wii U version, with the exception of a scene only partially loading a texture twice, and once not loading a model if you button-mash Y to skip through it. It's a very smooth game.

They half ass the game, see poor sales, and justify not investing in future Wii U software.

Had they released the full trilogy for Wii U, like they did for every other system at almost the same time, I would have purchased it instantly.

I've heard this about other games too (that the Wii U version is worse than the other versions). I can't speak for all games, but I have both Call of Duty and Batman. The Wii U versions of each are fantastic. I haven't experienced any lag, slow frame rate, or any other issues with either of them. I sometimes wonder where these rumors started.

Same here. I don't see any of the issues people are always claiming "plague" the Wii U versions. I have AC3 and it runs fine (never had a problem with any of the AC games, really, on Xbox 360 or Wii U).

I think people are biased so they completely ignore things on the Xbox 360 but make them into mountains if they happen on a Nintendo platform. I remember some game magazine over here (GamePro or GameInformer) once gave a Spider-Man game for Wii 4/10 because "buildings and characters fade into existence as you approach them" but when that happens in Skyrim for the Xbox 360 they still give it a 10/10, but then they give the PC version of that same game (which is obviously way faster at loading things) a 7/10.

Can't really speak for UK publications but in America there's a massive pro-Xbox slant to all of our major gaming publications. They do the same thing to Sony, but to a far lesser extent.
