The Amazing Spider-Man Set to be the Greatest Spider-Man Game on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

After the critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2 videogame, things went a bit downhill for Spider-Man games. Beenox will hopefully change that trend though with The Amazing Spider-Man, which will interestingly act as a sequel to the upcoming film. Activsion producer, Doug Heder, says the game will not disappoint fans and claims it will be the greatest Spider-Man game yet.

Heder said the team haven't rushed development and they've been working on it for over two years. They've also brought back features that fans have asked for. If you're now excited, you only have a few months wait till the games release, when it lands on shelves on June 26th 2012. It will be available on the Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS, but you can also pick it up for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

We’ve had some hits and misses but this is the best Spidey game yet. Development wasn’t rushed - we had the full two years to work on this. And we brought back what fans have been asking for.

yesssssss

Ooh, interesting. I loved Spiderman 2, and I like the idea of this being a sequel to the film rather than a direct tie-in.

Beenox were the guys who did the Ultimate Spider-Man game last generation. I really liked that game and actually just dug it out recently to play it again for a bit. They did the "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" game, too, but I never played that.

I'm certainly curious to see how the 3DS version will turn out. Probably a bit too optimistic to expect something akin to Spider-man 2 on there, but I was never a fan of the side-scrolling webslinger games.

As long as they don't stray too far from the Spider-Man 2 formula there is little they can screw up. One interesting note is I've heard they're taking inspiration from the Batman Arkham games...weather or not they mean stealth or providing over all excellent quality respecting the original I.P. (probably the latter) is yet to be seen.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
