New HD Videos, Screens for Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo today released a pair of stunning HD trailers for the The Legend Zelda: Skyward Sword, taking a look at the opening area and dungeon.

The following does contain a fair dollop of spoilers, however a majority of footage are similar to past trailers - be warned!

Past the opening events, we find Link travelling the land below in search for Zelda - who's been held captive or simply missing, somewhere. His search takes our hero to the vast landscape of Faron Woods, which is described as more of a mini-dungeon, packed to the brim with short puzzles, brilliant soundtrack and an overall goal to get into the first true test of skill, the Skyview Temple.

The forest is also home to the Kikwis - adorable fuzzy creatures who aid Link in his bid to find his female chum. To find these critters, players will be able to use "dousing" - essentially transforming the sword into a treasure hunting device, beeping away when you grow closer to your target.

The publisher also popped online a handful of new screenshots to get you all teary-eyed until Skyward Sword slices its way to your living-room this November.

Similar trailers were released in the Japanese website, however these are a tad bit longer and without voice-over.

Game keeps getting better and better. I've already pre-ordered my copy of the CE so I'm set.

That kiwi with a tache looks like a huge ball bag.

Mighty sexy looking footage you got there! I can't wait for this now. I will piss myself on the 18th. Quite literally piss all over the floor! Here's to hoping this game has more than 8 dungeons!

Ahhh my eyes, Anti-Aliasing burns!!!! Smilie

I do think it's looking far more appealing than previous trailers - music is simply gorgeous, glad the dungeons' themes seem to have a more prominent track without being too "grand" or "epic", with the neat Zelda ambiance in there.

Can't wait for this though, definitely up there on my must haves for 2011!

Seriously, could they add anything more to this game?

My only hope is that it all works seamlessly, that it doesn't get too complex and complicated to tie all the game play styles and options together...beyond that, roll on a nice parcel from Amazon dropping through my door in not too many weeks!

If my wife wants to get slid into I will say "no" and play this game.
