First SimCity Creator Wii/DS Details & Screens

By Adam Riley 29.05.2008 6

Following the revelation of two Famitsu scans of SimCity Wii, lots of new details have emerged, as well as the first large screens from RevoGamers.net.

According to Famitsu, in SimCity Creator there will be various buildings designs, such as ones from Greece and Egypt, as well as 'fun' designs like Futuristic, Crystal, Sweet (e.g. cake buildings ), Las Vegas, Jungle, Hindu, Mediterranean, Japanese Traditional, and many others. There will also be several strange events for players to deal with, like fire breathing dinosaurs (that look rather like Bowser in the screenshots!), asteroids, people-abducting UFOs, giant mechas, and much more.

The game will make full use of the Wii Remote's motion controls, for tasks such as tracing roads, electricity cables and rail lines, in an attempt to make city building even more fun than before. The advisors from the MySims games will make a return, the producer of the game is Masahiro "Mitch" Ueno and it will be launching in September in Japan for a reduced price of 6090 Yen (~30), with a 2008 Western release likely considering the screenshots in the media folder below are already in English. Presumably SimCity DS 2 will make a Western appearance as well this year, with both games turning up on certain retailer lists recently.

Players will be able to build large shopping centres, sports stadia, residential areas, change the theme of the city, and then go flying around your creation in your Mayor's personal helicopter, checking on progress throughout the day or night. And as if that was not enough, the game will make use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for posting cities made in the Mission Mode online. Now not only will you be the judge of your own creation, but so will the rest of the world, with people able to comment on what you have achieved and even stick down a rating so that you can improve in the future.

Update - The full Press Release can be seen below:

I haven't played sim city since the 2000 edition but this sounds pretty good.

SimCity DS is really great, so I can't wait for its sequel to be Westernised as well. As for this, it looks and sounds fantastic so far! Smilie SimCity on the SNES is still by far one of my fave games ever...

The game looks good, shame the floor-textures below Eiffel-Tower are so blurry.
I wonder how this plays, It all sounds good, much more the game for me then My Sims.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Yeah does look kind of blurry but then again it is Simcity, it\'s likly that those are just really zoomed in on areas of the city.
You will probably spend most of the time zoomed out to manage the city.

Coolio.. it looks good! Mebbe ill get it.. we'll have to see what score Raz might give it!! Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562
