Well when you're old enough (if that's the case & you've got good loving parents if they're the reason you haven't played it yet, the game's VERY extreme even for adults) give it a shot. It's good & a fun & frantic play style with the ingame Quick Time Events being used well with grewt timing systems.

Still I'd be happier with a reimagined Legend of Dragoon or well written sequal.

Can't tell if that's meant to be condescending or not...I'm 20. I've just never had a Sony platform to play them on.

It was ment to be a compliment Echoes; I'm just discusted with how many "parents" don't care if their 10 year old children play games like GoW or GTA, sorry for the confusion & getting your meaning mixed up with possible age.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Is the PSP one any good? I may download it, though I've been dying to play dissidia for years. What's the difference between the two versions?

I've got the first GoW PSP game, was pretty good, really enjoyed it.

Get Dissidia Duodecim (the sequel). Has everything the first game has plus a bit more, story included.

Are you asking about the difference in the psp God of Wars or the Dissidia's Echoes?

Dissidia.
But I'll pick up Duodecim by the sounds of it.

Duodecim recently won a vote for best PSP game on PSN, so it'll be receiving a price drop soon. All other games that won their respective categories are getting price drops too. So keep your eye on PSN. I'm sure I'll let you know when it comes into effect anyway.

Was that not just for US though?

Are you kidding me? Fuuu. Will have to check.

Twatting hell. Looks like you could be right. Hopefully we'll get something similar.

Now on PSN for American Users for the Vita Motorcross RC should be free. No news on EU unfortunately :/

YEEAAAHHHH sorry about that chaps, I just got Motor Storm RC & a Cake RC car for free which ISN'T A LIE!!!! Sorry couldn't resist Portal meme, anywho it's pretty fun but don't worry; it seems another company is hosting the limited free release so I'm sure Euro PSN will get a sponsor to so the same.

For gameplay I still say the first Dissidia is more balanced & has better responce, but yeah for value Azu is right all you need is Duodecium.

And who knows, mayhaps you guys will end up getting a combo pack for BOTH Dissidia's like what we got for Daxter/Secret Agent Clank & Motor Storm Arctic Edge/Twisted Metal Black. :/

Will definitely be my tipping point for Vita purchase.

David Cunt's Qauntic Dream show off their new PS3-exclusive engine. It's a tech demo called "Kara". It's apparently running in real-time on a regular PS3 (I doubt this, it just looks too good). Anyway, if they're not lying bastards it's mightily impressive. Also goes to show that the Cell architecture isn't such a steaming pile of dog shit, after all (that's for you, Vorash).

If true, then it's extremely impressive. If not, it's still an awesome concept. It probably won't ever be made into a game. The standout part of the tech is how the facial performance capture looks so stunningly real (more so than L.A. Noire). To this end, they brought in a real actress - Valorie Curry.

It's maybe a little bit "I, Robot", but whatever. I liked it!

I never trust tech demos. Usually they go way beyond what is actually achievable in real games (where there's a good amount of actual interaction from the player).

*cough**cough*

When did we get a GameCube game with so much bump mapping and other special effects ? Yet this demo was real-time GameCube graphics (the disc iso can even be found on the web for anyone to try it out, I'm sure that's how that guy recorded it, most likely running on Dolphin)

Truth. I guess it probably is real-time, but the entire heft of the machine is being leveraged to display only one figure and the scene around her. We'll see when the eventual game using this technology is shown.

What I wonder about is that Quantic had done similar tech demos in the past, leading up to Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain. Those tech demos came years before the games themselves. I don't think the PS3 has another three years left in it. I mean, I guess it probably does, but in three years it'll be what the PS2 is today - still on sale, but not really setting sales charts ablaze.

Maybe they're aiming this at PS4? That would be conducive with Sony moving forward with a more advanced implementation of the Cell. I'm just speculating, here.

What did you think of the video itself, technology aside? I thought it was awesome. She's a very good actress. She starts out all cold and robotic, and quickly develops "real" emotions. The bit where she goes "I've only just been born!" was pretty deep.

I watched it last night and was amazed as well. I think it probably is running on a PS3, but it's just a tech demo. If it was a large game, it probably wouldn't look quite as good. Whether it was or not, I really just loved watching it and I thought the emotion they managed to capture through the amazing facial animation was great.

Quite incredible and powerful stuff, all in such a short film. Appreciate you sharing!

Oh grow up Martin, just cause I trounced your reasoning & explained what I know with backing doesn't mean you should act like a child. I never said Cell was garbage, I said it was difficult to work with which is one of the main reasons devs favor the 360 over ps3 to develop with, not just because there are more 360's in homes than ps3's. I was not the one who started saying Cell would be dropped from ps4, here is my credible citation.

Graphics alone will never be the defining factor in a system or games success, to show such zealous interest in the mere appearance of a game shows your level of immaturity/inexperience & what a graphic whore (graphic trollop/tart in euro slang?) you are.

Graphics are nice to be sure...but they are in no way shape or form REQUIRED to enjoy a game, & games that look amazing aren't always worth your time...if they were the DS wouldn't trounced the psp & Nintendo wouldn't still be a leading figure head in the industry. But then again if you actually did your home work you would've known everything I said Martin.

You can stop with the self-aggrandizement. It's grating.

Graphics alone will never be the defining factor in a system or games success

Who here is saying that they will be?

to show such zealous interest in the mere appearance of a game shows your level of immaturity/inexperience & what a graphic whore (graphic trollop/tart in euro slang?) you are.

For goodness sake, would you just stop with the graphics whore BS? There is nothing wrong with being interested in the visual make-up and tech behind a game. No one is here to say that graphics > gameplay, but we'd all still be playing Pong right now if tech people out there weren't actually trying to move the visual make-up of games forward.

Gameplay first, yes, but games like Mass Effect and Bioshock simply couldn't exist without the technology we have today.

but they are in no way shape or form REQUIRED to enjoy a game

I'm guessing you play your games with the TV off, then?

Yeah.. this whole Vorash hating everything I say is getting a little out of hand. If you read back, Vorash, you'll see that I've said things such as "rumours are dime-a-dozen" and "I've seen rumours to the contrary on Arstechnica etc". Basically - your Kotaku rumour confirms nothing. Nobody really knows (certainly none of us, or Kotaku). Time will tell. Which is essentially what I said before. Now stop this nonsense, calling me names and things. You're quite an uppity little fellow.

It's not anymore out pf hand than the little spat you mentioned at me involving the Cell prossesor...which you miss quoted me even at that...

Jacob if you're really so blind to my meaning I'll be more specific, High Definition 1080p HD & BEYOND graphics are not necessary to enjoy a game. No I don't play games with the TV off smart ass but I still enjoy a pure Text Based Adventure every now & then as well as make more use of my 3DS than Vita right now. You won't make a very good argument if you take things to an overly litteral sense & not understand context & before ANYONE tries to call me on the same I understand percectly well what's being discussed here. The over focus on graphics is what is disturbing here, I know this is new tech so yes it's news....but how often have people talked about the underlying mechanics of a game, broken gameplay, poor voice acting, greed & monitary loss...well I dkd bring that up with sony dropping the ball with Vita but still.

I speak boldly only because I am well versed in video games...which isn't something to be proud of really.

Well, here you are - I apologise for anything I might have said that annoyed you. Can we be at peace, now? I don't think you're as well-versed in computer games as most of the regular members here. Your posts certainly don't paint that picture of you. I'm sorry, no offence meant, it's just what I think.

Since when has Kotaku article about rumours from nameless source been credible. Especially since it's just tat - a rumour, where there have been many conflicting reports over the past few months.

Vorash Kadan said:
not just because there are more 360's in homes than ps3's

In 76 Months, the 360 has sold roughly 66 million (870,000 a month)
In 64 Months, the PS3 has sold roughly 62 million (970,000 a month)

So I'm sure the sales of the devices have nothing to do with developers taking preference for the 360, as the PS3 has almost matched the 360 sales wise in less time. It may be more to do with Microsofts cash which they splash around more happily than Sony does.

You see what we mean now, Vorash? Some random guest has just put you right, and it's not the first time either. You bleet on and on about your huge experience with gaming, but your posts don't show an equivalent depth of knowledge about games-development and how the industry works. Kotaku has been wrong before (and they've been right). So let's just simmer down with the arrogance, because you don't pull it off, I'm afraid.

I wish some of these randoms would actually join C3.

Actually it's got more to do with the fact that devs are now getting the hang of Cell & since the ps3 is finally less than the price to ransom someone people are more comfortable buying one.

I LOVE how no one bothered to mention the Forbes article link provided. Yes it's a rumor...however it's more news provided than anything hinting ps4 will be using Cell or an evolution of it.

Sorry if you guys didn't like hearing it, but Cell is more convoluted than working with PC, which the 360 is similar too, that's why devs like Epic back Microsoft more than sony...Cell is just too much of a headache to deal with.
