Save data that can be copied to an SD Card can obviously be transferred or copied to and from your Wii and WiiU as you wish.
But yeah the issue is games like Brawl, can't be moved/copied any other way but the System Transfer.
ah yeah that's right, it gets transferred, but not deleted from your original console I think (I had some save data leftover after I completed the transfer, I guess they were these games)So wait, are you telling me that when you did the Wii - Wii U transfer it copied over your Smash Bros Brawl data as oppose to moving it? If so then that is what i'd like to do!

Had to check my Wii because I wasn't sure anymore. Apparently my SSBB data isn't there anymore, so it really does get transferred. The only way you could keep your SSBB data that I can think of is if you use homebrew ways to remove the "copy protected" flag for your SSBB save file, so you can make a copy of it on your SD card, and copy it back onto the system after you're done transferring your stuff.
Ah that sucks...thanks for checking for me, i started reading things on here and it got my hopes up.
It doesn't bother me too much, it just means having to switch over sensor bars and plugs every time i want to boot up a Wii game.
I guess when Nintendo finally launch the VC on Wii U with all of my VC purchases available i may finally take the plunge....
I have a battery powered sensor bar, personally, that way I don't need to switch cables or anything of the sort .
I use 2 candles as a sensor bar, but once my house almost burned down.
I just noticed, thanks to Kotaku, that this indie platformer is coming to the Wii U.

Iwata may resign if target is not met.

You always felt like it could happen the way the launch of the 3DS and now Wii U has gone. Gonna be really difficult to meet the goals but good luck to him.

On the other hand, this is promising and sounds nice:

I'm planning on supporting Nintendo better as soon as the good games are out. Pikmin 3, TWW HD, Rayman Legends... release them and I'll buy them.
Wii U Price Slashed in the US
http://mynintendonews.com/2013/01/31/costco-slashes-wii-u-deluxe-and-basic-model-in-us/
Minutes after Iwata stated there would be no price cut?
Maybe NA was trailing behind lower European prices? I know they slashed the prices here on launch day (from €360 to €326 for the Deluxe)...
Hopefully that will take the install base up, personally i think its a good idea to give it a little cut now anyway, meaning people might buy less PS4/720 or at least less inclined to do so. Not just that, it might catch the attention of some Nintendo fan boys on the back of the Nintendo Direct conference as they now have reasons to buy the console knowing that there will be some great stuff shown at E3.
Costco are wholesalers, they can slash the price without it taking as heavy a hit on them, Nintendo hasn't slashed the price.

You misread methinks, she said "1 day" rather than "day 1", though I thought that too at first..
And yeah Platinum seem to love the WiiU so I think it could happen eventually.
XD Thanks. At least she has more sense than I gave her credit for!

Nintendo making a pure power-based gaming console?
"At the moment, we only have our current handheld devices and home consoles because if we tried to make more platforms, our development resources would be spread too thinly. The more we can share software across different platforms, the more development resources will be left for something else."

It seems that Nintendo is more determined than anyone to keep making dedicated gaming systems, which is definitely good news and shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Nintendo won't be leaving the console business even if they crash and burn next gen.
However having multiple hardwares at once? That's pretty risky Nintendo.. and the industry is already at risk of seeing another Market Crash with so so many consoles and machines for gaming popping up out of every orifice.
The Wii brand doesn't seem able to cut it with some gamers, it's become intrinsic with casual gaming in the minds of many. I would be in favour of a new high powered console, as long as it can play unified content, I see no problem. I would pay as much for a high powered Nintendo console, as I will for Sony and M'soft's down the line.

So the new Zelda will be on which console? Wii U with innovative controls, or the Nintendo 4K with pretty graphics? =/
Bad idea.
I should think the 4K would have the same features as the WiiU but just able to run more powerful games too? Or is that wishful thinking? Surely they'd be largely cross-compatible considering Nintendo want to aim for systems sharing OS and stuff.
