I want one in blue... but the price is just too expensive. Why are we getting ripped off again with the price conversion?

Cause Nintendo hate Europe? It's annoying but I can't see the price going down anytime soon so I'm just gonna buy it. I quite like the look of the blue one.

Oh and something about the battery life: http://www.gamerzines.com/ds/news/nintendo-talk-3ds-battery-life.html
I was bloody right after all that xD

How much over 5 hours though? Smilie

"Yarnton added that Nintendo encourages people "not to spend hours and hours and hours playing" and that recharging the battery often can prompt them "to have a break in-between"."

It like he's trying to make out that it was intentionally made to be short.

Dunno xD
People think around 8 hours, like with the DSi with the settings low, but I'm pretty happy with anything above 5 hours anyway Smilie

If it was 8 hours, I'd definitely be fine with that.

I guess we'll have to wait for hardware reviews to really know how much longer it is. I'm guessing 1 or 2 hours more, though it could be anything from even only 30 minutes to a couple of hours.

Weird that Nintendo doesn't just say how much it is going to last longer though. Didn't they test it or is it a rather small increase like 30 minutes? The latter is more likely but we shouldn't forget, for Nintendo there's always a third option. They just don't like to tell us things we want to know. Smilie

Region locked LOL

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yeah it's crazy they are region locking it, I enjoyed being able to buy hardware and software from any region with the GBA and DS.
Not like I did it all the time but the option was there when it suited me weather it was a better price or I was in America, maybe a hardware color or it was released somewhere months in advance.
Always meant you were hoping for games to at the very least be published in the USA or EU as long as it was in English, but now we gotta wait for our region even if it's in the US and in full english.

I hope it's left up to the publisher kind of like the 360 at least then there might be some hope for importing some of the more crazy japanese stuff.

Doesn't region locking prompt hackers to jailbreak the system even more?

Hopefully they get a work around and have somthing bootable off the SD card!

I wonder if they'll release a 25th anniversary edition of the 3DS with Ocarina of Time (if it's not a launch game), with the colour being green.

That would be a good bundle if they have any by the end of the year.

Oh yeah, and I wonder if certain games will have augmented reality cards with them, or maybe they'll be collectable. Seriously, that would be awesome.

But still, the pre-order prices at the moment are really bad, Ireland has to pay even more than the UK apparently.

Why green though? Isn't gold much more awesome? Smilie I have the gold GBA SP with a Triforce on it and it's awesome. Smilie

If they did that, I'd be in huge trouble actually because I just HAVE to have something like that but holding off getting a 3DS, waiting for a special edition that probably isn't going to happen anyways would suck too.

I guess I thought gold would look a bit tacky, and the Mario 25th anniversary editions were red, and he dresses in red, so I though Link would be green, with a gold tri-force on the back.

Well, I have a self-made shield(yes, I'm that much into Zelda) and painted it green with a gold Triforce on it like your example and it doesn't look all that great. Surely, the colours could look different on the 3DS but gold on green doesn't look too good if you ask me.

I have a source within the industry that tells me infact that the 3DS isn't region locked.

So far I've only seen it listed as 270 euro which is a little more than the UK Game price, however it's almost 100 euro more than that US price which is utterly ridiculous.

I'm thinking of just importing one and continuing to import games for it.

Hope that's true xD

I hope so, can't deal without mad japanese games!

Yeah xD
Just started playing Jump Ultimate Stars and I actually forgot how awesome it was, so fun Smilie

I'm becoming a little bemused by the 3DS launch. So now OoT isn't a launch title? I mean, they shouldn't even use the term 'launch window' if it persists for so many months. Screw that. If there's not a few quality games out on day one, there's no way I'm paying $250.

I think it'll be a huge mistake not to launch with a major Nintendo title. Nintendogs does not count, at all. I mean, this Zelda 3DS is a remake - I don't understand why they haven't been working their asses off to make sure it's a launch title.

Panamoz UK have it for £190.

Says it's out of stock at the moment though.

So where has everyone pre-ordered their 3DS from? I pre-ordered at Game because you can get a student discount, plus the points you get by having a reward card makes the price of the 3DS £200.Smilie

Depends on the price but GAME is an option.. you'd really get that many reward points from it?

You get 10 points per £1 spent and 1000 points is worth £2.50. So the 10% student discount will make the the retail price of the 3DS £207 which is equal to 2070 points. So that's another £5 off which would make the overall price of the 3DS £202.
