It's a 3D model, but they should really have used Sonic's running animation from Brawl, that would've been great.

Fully agree there, I love the infinity feet Smilie That could have looked awesome in HD too.

Atm it's even looking a bit like Sonic Blast. Very awkward.

You guys are hilarious, nitpicking tiny little details.

Ha, it's not just these guys - the entire Internet's at it!

this shit is hilarious.

Sounds interesting but most likely untrue.

This is reassuring;

Today we have some good news to bring you guys in regard to Sonic's running animation in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I! Specifically, we wanted to cover a topic that many of you have asked about after seeing the trailer. Q: Is the running animation in the trailer what Sonic's fastest running animation will look like in Sonic the Hedgehog 4? It looks kind of slow, don't you think? A: Actually, it is not his fastest speed! There is a faster animation for Sonic's running that was not shown in the trailer, and is more akin to what you might be familiar seeing from Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic CD. So there you have it! We'll get to show you guys firsthand what that running animation looks like in the future - but until then, rest assured that there's a lot more to the game than what you saw in the trailer: running animations included.

I'd buy a Wii for that.

it be funny if Big N make a 3D sonic game better then sega Smilie and knowing big N they will

That Mario Galaxy 2 rumour is so stupid. It's obviously just something that NGamer put on their Twitter for a joke when bored on a Friday afternoon and left up to see who fell for it. I wouldn't rule out Sonic and Mario in one game (outside of Smash Bros. and the Olympics titles), or even in a Nintendo-developed 3D platformer, but in Nintendo's next big flagship title for their mascot? 'LOL' becomes appropriate.

If it's true, we're setting up a fund that keeps me eating hats for the next 12 years.

I think it's a stupid rumour too, it's like those silly "Mario in Sonic Adventure" rumours and hoaxes that popped up once.

As for the interview about Sonic's running animation, that's good to hear. Looking forward to seeing it ^^

Well that is good news indeed. I didn't like the running animation in the trailer.

SEGA must be thinking "stupid fucking fanboys, even when you give them what they want they still have to pick faults with it".

It's their fault for listening to fanboys in the first place. Listening to fanboys gave us:

- Sonic Heroes
- Shadow The Hedgehog
- Sonic 2006
- Sonic Unleashed

And now this. This could actually be good, though.
What do you think of the running animation Martin? If you actually like it then fair dos, but when the only widespread criticism so far is the running animation rather than some horrible gimmick, you know they're doing something right.

But Sonic Unleashed was 10 times better than Sonic '06. And Shadow was just a terrible game. I think SEGA are going to do a good job with thi game. Do you think there will be a demo before the release?

Looking at the SEGA blog, I can't believe there are people crying about the game using the modern green-eyed Sonic. Smilie

The animation does bother me a little. They say there's a better animation for when you're moving faster, but that doesn't change the fact that the animation used for the speed in the trailer is still awful.

Still, as long as Sonic controls like the classic Sonic then it won't matter much.

One thing I do want to know though is how the homing attack is gonna be used. The classics never needed anything like that so hopefully they implement it well.

I knew it. That annoys the hell out of me :/
People are just blinded by their rose-tinted nostalgia goggles. Black eyed Sonic is never coming back, ever. However New Sonic has been looking shorter and chubbier since Unleashed, giving us the best of both worlds.

Green eyed Sonic first appeared in the UK Sonic comic when Sonic was fighting Chaos. There was some sort of reaction and his eyes turned green I like his eyes better now than the way they used to be.

No, that was just an adaption, that was the Sonic Comic's explanation of his eyes.

As far as SEGA are concerned, his eyes have always been green, I guess you could say they retconned his appearance.

Black eyes make him look too much like the Mickey Mouse copy he is anyway. His green eyes give him a little individuality. Also his head was always huge.

sonic tails and knuckles hmmm who do we know who green?

Where is that from Jump? Link?

http://thewiire.com/blog/post/6221-rumor-new-details-on-sonic-4

I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
(But the red one is Mario)
Honestly no idea on the green one. It's possible that it could be Amy in her old outfit, seeing as her clothes were green.... ._. I hate Amy's old outfit though.

The link you've posted Jump also mentions that there may only be 4 Zones per episode? Smilie Hope that one isn't true. Have they mentioned game length at all yet?

Kotaku are also saying that the fourth platform is the iPhone.
