You lost all credibility at "professional". Seriously, you need a reality check.

No, I said it expanded the game's engine. Nothing about visuals. Can't dig out any old quotes that might suggest that now, though, so I'll gladly retract it. I'm looking at screens of both CCFFVII and Dissidia, and there's not too much difference between the two regarding visuals, anyway. It looks like it swings both ways, with CC having one up over Dissidia in certain parts, and vice versa, where battles probably go in Dissidia's favour. You can tell they're the same engine, sure enough. Not gonna debate which looks better, though. But you took it the wrong way to begin with - I didn't say Dissidia looked better at all. But I'll overlook it, since I can see how you might've interpreted it that way.

I'm not sure why you're classing me as a 'professional.' Sure, I've been playing games since I was a toddler, and I might do stuff for this site for fun and to help out, but I'm not whatever you call a professional. I just love playing games as a hobby. I try not to get so stuck up on all the negatives of a game, which is why I end up more often than not expressing how much fun I had with just about every FF game, rather than slamming it. There are always negatives, but I often find my enjoyment far outweighs them, so I don't always talk about them. Maybe that gives an impression of me thinking every FF is perfect?

I've never once said FFXIII didn't have its downfalls. But that doesn't mean I can't love the game, too. You say the story wasn't terrible, but there are people out there that think it's a pile of crap, so does that make them right and you wrong? I prefer to focus on the things that made me enjoy my time with the game (and all games), but I do like healthy discussion about cons, too, of course.

Wholeheartedly agree with Relaxed Chilly. It should never have come to this again. My fault for reacting, as well, though. But I just want to try and get across that I'm not here to criticise everyone else's opinion on games. I'm up for civilised discussion about pros and cons, but I'm just a guy that loves to play games. I'm not some 'professional' that is paid to pick out all the faults and slam anyone that disagrees. I just wanna play games, enjoy them, talk about them. I don't want to get caught up in arguments where I'm made to feel like I'm wrong for liking certain things in a game.

Hopefully we can end this now, though. We need to bring this place back to happy thoughts.

How about a little poll/discussion on our certain favourite elements in FF? Let's start with...

What's your favourite final dungeon in Final Fantasy?

Oof, just realised: we should watch out for spoilers here. I think we should try to be kind where possible. Perhaps just mention which game it is, then spoiler the rest.

For me, it's gotta be FFVIII.

Alright Azu truse, sorry for my reactions as well. It's just irritating seeing the masses as a whole behave in the ignorant way I described with 7, blissfully unaware of the true context in that game & people being overly impressed with a let down villian like Sephiroth. Like I said he does LOOK cool I'll agree...but that's pretty much it. I'm not even going to acknowledged IkeFE's remark since he made no sense with my "quote".

Hmmmm favorite dungeon that's a tough one...well I can tell you my 2 LEAST favorite dungeons in FF, the ladt dungeon in FF3 (the REAL 3 not 6 though that was tough too with party switching & all) & entering thw Fey Marsh, those FREAKING poison floors & strong enemies always made me nervous on my way to the Sylphs. NEVER had I gone through so many potions in one place.

Oh really? I made no sense and you're a "professional?" Tell me, how much do they pay you to play these games and make ridiculous, jaded remarks?

Come on guys. You're acting like little politicians. I love a bitch fight as much as the next member, but it would be better to continue it in its own thread.

You don't want a disorganized forum now, do you? Smilie

Final Fantasy:

Favourite dungeon for me is the Fortress of Doom from Mystic Quest. For some reason one of the most addictive of all Final Fantasy games. The dungeon's got a rocking tune, and a easily beatable end boss - just what you need after putting hours and hours into finishing the game, quite exhausting.

You are not alone. I am here with you. Though we're far apart...you're always in my heart. Love u!

You posted a quote from me saying "Words"...how is that respectable let alone make ANY sense? And he's right, start posting something productive of GTFO.

I just realised one of my favorite dungeons, the Fire Cavern in FF8 where you get Ifrit for the SeeD test. I know it's not long or overly complex, but that's the first time you hear that WONDERFULLY HAUNTING melody FF8 uses for other dungeons as well!! Spooky, mysterious, foreboding...yet welcoming all at the same time. ;D

lol I wanted it to be just fave final dungeons for now since I'm curious to hear what stands out. But I will have a good think about my fave dungeon other than final ones... Shinra HQ was a very memorable place for me.

Yes that's another theme I liked in 7, the deep baseline for Shinra & the other one during the prison escape sequence, both are nice & MAN that was alot of blood...I don't think any other FF has shown that much blood ever.

That's a good point actually. Makes the changing of the red blood to green in the armoury of Ulty's Castle in VIII seem even more odd. I liked that VII had a dark and gritty adult theme to it in more ways than one.

Yeah, you said words. It was all crap after "I'm a professional". Which you still fail to explain what the hell that means.

And me post something productive? Well Mr. Professional and Respectable, what would be productive? Claiming my untouchable knowledge of games? That I'm a FF "veteran"? Did you also get shot at while they payed you, Mr. Professional?

1) If you want to be (meaningfully) productive, you're in the wrong place.
2) It's just adorable to see you two use sentences like 'Get the fuck out' and 'What the hell that means'. Especially with that 'Now playing: Pokemon' under it. I can just imagine the scene, a boy in his bedroom catching pokemon on his Nintendo humming along to happy tunes. "Hold on Pikapika, I've got to set this fucker on the internet straight!".

I know this is a silly place, but if you're getting angry over another kid located perhaps even in another country you might need to just play pokemon and be merry. You both might want to read Relaxed Chilly's post again. There's certainly a lof of wisdom to it.

You are not alone. I am here with you. Though we're far apart...you're always in my heart. Love u!

Look you pretentious know it all, you can look down your nose all you like but I don't need your peanut gallery comments directed at me. Get off your high horse and blow the snobby, "intellectual" attitude out your ass.

For final dungeons I suppose 6 has it for me. Having to switch between a party of 3 along with the puzzle element & the obscene amount of floors to scale truely made it a challenge. And no I never ONCE used the psycho Cian glitch in there...though it would've made some encounters much MUCH easier.

Bravely Default info.
http://andriasang.com/con1rb/bravely_default_tweets/

Has one save slot.

Other details from the Asano at the Twitter account include:

- The game has random encounters (for a sample of the battle system, download the third demo)

- The game's official artwork shows a fourth male character who has yet to be identified. Asano says that this character is scenario writer Naotaka Hayashi's favorite, but we'll have to wait for a followup report.

- One follower said that after playing the recent demo, he now knows the meaning of Bravely Default name (the battle system has "Brave" and "Default" parameters). In response to this, Asano said that we'll get an even better idea of the meaning after clearing the game.

- When asked if equipment will be shown in the character graphics, Asano said that for the most part the graphics are based off the character's job. However, some special accessories and equipment will be shown.

- Someone asked if the game will have voices just during event scenes and movies, or if the game part of the game will also have voices. Asano replied that most of the events have voices, and the main characters have a massive amount of voice.

One save slot is very sad and strange.

Theatrhythm interview.
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/07/02/how-a-versus-xiii-song-got-into-theatrhythm-final-fantasy-and-other-questions/

- Nomura allowed Versus XIII song.

- Didn't want to use spin-off games like Mystic Quest for music; FFXIV DLC may happen.

- North America DLC may be different to JP.

- Would like to do Dragon Quest or Kingdom Hearts Theatrhythm. Hitman (jokes) a long way off; Tomb Raider 'might be fun.'

Wait is that true Azu, we might get Versus 13 music?!! Sweet if true I hope the EU/USA gets those too if Japan does. Also maybe they'll have a theater room in Bravery where you can rewatch cutscenes, that's really the only time I make multi saves is if there's a tough part that I don't want to go through but something really cool/important happens afterward. I've got like 3 memory cards worth of saves for FF8 & The Legend of Dragoon for reasons like that.

IkeFE it wasn't even YOUR argument so knock it off...unless YOU are a FF7 FANatic. Go suck on Sephiroth's Masamune & quite being a third wheel, Azuardo & I are fine now.

Not really being a third wheel, I just asked some simple questions which you obviously have a lot of trouble answering.

Anyway, FFIX is pretty awesome. I loved the dungeon that you have to equip your weakest weapons to do substantial damage.

Hm, so I was thinking a while about this but I can't think of my favourite final dungeon. I'm usually not a big fan of them because the enemies or puzzles (looking at you, FFVIII and FFXIII-2) tend to be very annoying when I just want to get to the final boss and kick their ass.

I have to give FFVIII some credit though.

Versus XIII's Somnus is a DLC in Japan.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvKGvyrQ4xs&feature=youtu.be

US/EU first DLC list:
The first batch of available add-on tracks include:
1. “Battle Theme 1” (FINAL FANTASY II)
2. “The Final Battle” (FINAL FANTASY IV)
3. “Fighters of the Crystal” (FINAL FANTASY XI)
4. “Fighting Fate” (FINAL FANTASY XIII)
5. “In Search of Light” (FINAL FANTASY V)
6. “Cosmo Canyon” (FINAL FANTASY VII)
7. “Ride On” (FINAL FANTASY VIII)
8. “A Fleeting Dream” (FINAL FANTASY X)

Each track is available for $0.99 / £0.90 / €1.00

BDFF's single save file is disappointing for those using copy files for times they fuck up or want to try something else after saving. Especially annoying for those with partners or friends that share cards for their own saves. With any luck, they'll add at least one extra file for the overseas release.

Cheeky image doing the rounds - Balthier for Theatrhythm? Err, hell yeah.

Image for

I was thinking about grabbing one of the Dissidia games from the store. Which one of them is the better game?

Duodecim.

Right, no thread for Theatrhythm, so anyone here that has it start yakking about it! I'm first up.

How far has everyone got at this point? I'm at about 12,000 rythmia with a party of Cloud, Terra, Zidane and Tidus at around L40 at the moment, just playing the odd song to rack up points. Those Ultimate tracks are a frickin nightmare! The Field events on Ultimate are possible with a bit of struggle, but the Battle events, even just on the middle setting are a bitch.

And don't get me started on those Dark Notes, hoo boy. The game is frustrating as hell at points but still soooo good. Smilie

I got it on the 3rd & am up to 40,000+ rythmia. It's pretty fun but getting those shards you need from the Chaos shrine is tricky. Make sure you do REALLY well on field so you can fight boss 2 or 3 then get mostlh criticals during the fighting segment so you can fight the 3rd boss. They always carry 3 different shards for drops.

I just wish they had Thief, Red Mage (I'd say black but Vivi covers that) Leon, Rosa, Edge, the Pig, Frog & Mini, Shadow, Sabin, Cyan, Gogo, Mog, Gau, Umaro, Lone Wolf, Tifa (Chibi BEWBS!!) Zack, Barret & Sahz (for da brothuhz!!) Quiztis & Irvine, but with rumored DLC characters I hope they include those too.

18,000rm+
Lightning (Lv80), Cloud, Tidus, Squall (all Lv70)

I can do Expert tracks fine, but still struggle on Ultimate for plenty of battles. My one gripe with Chaos Shrine is getting the same damn songs over and over. FFV's Mambo de Chocobo and XII's Ending Theme are common for me. Love this game, though.
