I wouldn't actually expect it to happen any time in the next few years, if at all, though, if I'm honest. I just recall someone saying something about bringing them to Xbox ages ago. SD versions on PSN will have to suffice for now, but who knows in the future?

Will FFIII PSP add save spots in the final dungeon.
Because I swear to GOD that's the single biggest flaw with this game .
Also it's weird that SE are still making PSP games huh.

Yeah, let's bope U or 3DS gets ITS FAIR SHARE of ports since sony now has access to ALL the Nintendo ones. There is NO EXCUSE not to have the ps1 FFs on Nintendo's side!!

Well, I'm half(ish?) way through FF XIII now.
I'm really stuck on Barthandelus. He's butchered me 6 or 7 times. Any advice you have, Azuardo, would be much appreciated! Really enjoying the game so far though. SE always does an amazing job with graphics and this game is jaw-droppingly beautiful.
I'm really surprised it got so much hate. Strategically it must be the deepest FF game. (At least out of the one's I've played.) And has a really substantive plot. (Not to say others in the series are total fluff, but in comparison... c'mon. I've basically been killed a half dozen times by the Pope! If that isn't a statement, what is?)
Combat kinda reminds me of what an updated Chrono Trigger would play like. I'm really diggin' it. The system makes your status attacks (Which I never use) worthwhile.
Two quick questions:
One, am I even close to the end?
Two, how hard is this game to Plat? (I seem to be on a trophy kick lately.)
Figured at the least this would give Az something to talk about.

Hmm, been a while, but I did post a message for Phoenixus when he was stuck on it. Will copy/paste it, but these tips might be better now, so hopefully it'll help.
Consider the following:
- learn to switch between two attacking paradigms to stop the waiting of the ATB bar. E.g. when finishing up attacking with COM COM COM switch to another paradigm with COM COM COM before the attack ends to immediately carry on attacking without waiting for the ATB bar. The next time you switch back you'll have to wait, but the pattern can be repeated afterwards. Little difficult to explain, but easy to master.
- use buffs and debuffs as often as you can. I believe Barthandelus gets rid of them easily until he become vulnerable, but where possible, use them. Go into battle with fortisol and aegisol etc. Haste, Shell, Bravery and Faith are good to keep going.
- For boss himself, scan (libra) his other targets right away, then pummel with something like COM RAV RAV. Repeat until all other targets die.
- Once he's vulnerable, debuff him and buff your team whilst recovering with MED/potions. Attack till he uses Destructo and as he's preparing to use it, smash the fuck out of him with COM RAV RAV as much as possible. If he flinches then you did a good job and the attack won't be as strong. Recover your health before he unleashes the attack, since it can still kill you.
- always stop and attack when he prepares Destructo. Make him flinch, recover health, repeat. In the end, it shouldn't be too hard.
Old post for Phoenixus (probably still worth reading. might still help)
1. Probably just over halfway through the game at this point.
2. Very easy to platinum. It's more about needing guides to find the requirements for items and having a good test of patience, since the farming and grinding you have to do becomes very tedious.
Good luck!

FFXIII-3 hints come out of recently released Ultimania.
FFXIV peak at CG
WHAT THE HELL!? Square is doing a 13-3????? Good GOD do they WANT to further destroy the reputation that company once had? The reg 13 series is aweful LET IT DIEEEEE!! Please tell me Square isn't trying to force this to become a new ff7?

No I am not Eric. My psn accountis Nintendo_Gamer so feel free to look me up so you know I've been playing well over 20 minutes. FF Versus 13 looks promising....but just like with the mistake that IS 10-2 Square extends certain games well beyond their welcome.

I'm really loving this game so far and may have to pick up XIII-2 at some point. I think my favorite part so far has been the music. It's different for a FF game, but doesn't feel out of place at all.As am I! I'm hoping we get some sorta trilogy box set. (Hopefully on the Wii-U. Cross your fingers!)
I'd like to see a trilogy set for the Wii U as well because it would be perfect, though I think I'd still get it for the PS3 because I got the Platinum Trophies for the first two and would like to do the same for FFXIII-3.

Sirlink said: ...but it's so good that I don't even care and like you said, it really doesn't feel out of place, even the ones with lyrics.I know! It's great! When I heard the lyrics for the first time I immediately thought of Shin Megami Tensei or the persona series. Atypical music for an RPG, but brilliant and catchy.
6, 8 & 9 still host the best over all soundtrack I feel. There's nothing wrong with typical RPG music so long as it's good & memorable. The tracks in 13 aren't bad, but it's more backround ambiance mood music than attention grabing epic symphony...there's just no real "Purpose" behind the music in 13 ya know.
To avoid confusion by my use of the word "purpose" I'll explain, the music is too laid back & forgettable compaired to some tracks in 4 & MOST tracks in 6, 8, & 9.

I actually agree. I can hum music from other Final fantasy games from off the top of my head, but come up at a loss with XIII. The others had music that was more... structured I guess. They had a "hook" of sorts at some point or another. Your right, but man I've still found myself getting pumped throughout XIII because of the music.
Who doesn't remember the jingle that plays after you win a battle in FF 1 through 10? Classic Final Fantasy.
If I had to pick a RPG with the best music though, I'd have to go with Mario RPG. Now THAT was catchy music.
A Bass line Flea would even be proud of.

So I just finished playing FFV and had a great time with it. Job class system was really good, though it didn't perfectly fit my tastes. I prefer it a bit more limited, like FFIII, without mixing job classes and whatnot. Still a really great game though. I also love the amount of silly moments in the game. The soundtrack is fantastic as expected from Uematsu and just like with other classic FFs I love the battle/boss soundtracks. These two are probably my favourites.
So many good renditions of Battle on the Big Bridge.
One of my faves recently is the oriental mix from FFXIII-2.
FFXII orchestrated version is equally impressive.
And a great rock version from Dissidia.
Some great remixes there, though I prefer the more fast-paced original version with its killer bassline.
Would lo ve to see 13-3. Even though Caius will probably be the only thing keeping me interested in the story.
Serah & Noel were meh.

Well hopefully once this one & KH3 have been released Square can FINALLY let us enjoy Versus 13!

True it hasn't, but Nomura said VERY blatantly "it's about time kingdom hearts returned to consoles". If that's not an announcement of KH3 for whatever consoles I don't know what is? And I was merely being generous with the time, I'd LOVE to play FF vs.13 well before KH3 comes out.
Continuing on in XIII, I just got to the open world, Grand Pulse area and feel vastly under powered. I never avoided a single battle so far and would always clear the map of enemies before moving on, but never really did any level grinding.
Any advice? Anyone? (Azuardo? )
I assume I should take this time to grind as much as possible. So that's what I'm going to start doing.
Vorash said: ...I'd LOVE to play FF vs.13 well before KH3 comes out.Agree. Versus 13 and the last guardian are two games I desperately want. I have this sick dream where there is a group of Square Enix employees working around the clock in an underground lab. Crafting the most perfect RPG we have ever seen. And it's taking forever because it will be 3 bluray discs long.
Like I said, sick dream.
I know, V. Was talking officially. We all know FFXV is gonna happen, just as much as KH3 is. Killed the joke :[
FFXIII grinding:
Wada on FF7 remake:
During the Q&A session of the company's annual shareholder's briefing (transcribed here), Wada was asked the expected question about the much wanted remake. His response was something to the effect of, we'll make a Final Fantasy VII remake once we've made a Final Fantasy game that exceeds the quality of FFVII.
Wada admitted that at present, the company is not making Final Fantasy games that exceed the quality of FFVII. If they were to release a 7 remake right now, the FF franchise would be done with, he said.
Wow...that's a brutally honest admittance to under performance. Well they BETTER get their act together before they start work on FF6. In EVERY respect 6 far exceeds 7, so Square had better NOT half-ass anything while working on the remake of 6!!
