Rember, Disc 4 is for the game, too. Not like Disc 4 on Shenmue I. So you're only half way through the game.

I'm back to where I was now.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yay! Oh, you're just getting to the really fantastic stuff! What's your favourite bit so far? I thought the bit where you're handcuffed to Ren in the Yellow Head Building was great, in a non-gay way (...or maybe..?). And the bit in the Man Mo Temple library (carrying the books). Learning that crazy move from Jianmin! Oh yeah, what about the bit where you see Master Tao do the Demon's Triangle? Or the bit where you have to not press A in that QTE, where the barber pretends to try and slit your throat? Or what about the bit where... Fuck it. The whole game's just fantastic, isn't it? Just get's better and better from where you are, too.

Or the bit where you have to [n]not press A in that QTE, where the barber pretends to try and slit your throat?

That had me stumped when I first played it. Smilie

hehe.

Yeah, me too! It got to the point where I was hammering the fucking button, way before it came up, just to make sure I didn't miss it. Just thought it was an incredibly swift QTE. I felt like a right nob when I did it corectly, though Smilie

Hehe, thank god it wasn't just me. Smilie

Hehe, thank god it wasn't just me.

Smilie I did that too, we're all dum as hell.

Yeah that bit was my favourite. Its funny you should mention the gay thing though, I was just thinking that there are one hell of a lot of male bum centered camera shots, and when you have to carry boxes in fortunes pier you have to stare at Ryo's arse which is were the left/right subtitle appears. A bit of homosexual tension amongst the developers maybe? Smilie

And the bit in the Man Mo Temple library (carrying the books).

I was shit at that, never actualy completed it.

Oh yeah, what about the bit where you see Master Tao do the Demon's Triangle?

What was that? Don't remember that bit...

I swear people on this site go on about SEGA and Dreamcast WAY too much! Sure, Dreamcast was class, but it released 6 and a half years ago...let it go.

SEGA are still about, they still (generally) make good games and I'm eternally thankful for them making Super Monkey Ball, let the past go already!

What was that? Don't remember that bit...

Smilie

Maybe it only happens if you finish carrying all the books (I always do). But it's that bit where you gotta say goodbye to everyone in Wan Chai, before you leave for Kowloon. Ryo goes up Scarlet Hills, and comes across Tao sparring in the court yard in the moonlight. She does all this crazy shit, then she does this awsome thrust move. Ryo's like "What was that move?" and Tao goes "Demon's Triangle, innit.". Remember?

A bit of homosexual tension amongst the developers maybe?

Absolutely. Ryo's practically a gay icon. Have you even counted the amount of hotties he turned down that blatently wanted his cock? I swear there's a bit where Joy literally offers him to stay the night at hers, and he declines...

Then again, I don't think he's gay, either. He doesn't seem to have any hint of a sex drive! He probably could've shagged Ren in the Yellow Head Building. Good old boring Ryo! Smilie

Oh right so it's the name of that move, yeah I remember now.

You get to see something really cool once you've completed the game... A video of the Saturn version! If you didn't know, Shenmue started life years ago on the Saturn, then development got moved to Dreamcast and started again.

Yeah I've heard about all that, Ryo used to be the guy from Virtua Fighter at one point.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yeah, it was called 'Akira's Quest', too. You seen the video, though? Well, if you don't wanna wait until you've completed it, I've found the video online. It's quite large (26.5MB), so you might just wanna wait until you complete Shenmue II, and watch it on your Dreamcast. It's up to you.

Shenmue Saturn [26.5MB]

^^Indeed Smilie

I'll probably wait, my broadband isn't consistant enough for a solid 25mb at the moment

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

It's probably best you wait, anyway. There's some minor spoilers in there. It's fucking amazing how much of the game they had done on the Saturn, before they scrapped it all and started again on Dreamcast!

Dreamcast owners.

You wouldn't let me play on one. Powerstone it was too, with an extra controller. But noooo, I wasn't allowed.

{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat

Blame yourselves if you didn't buy a Dreamcast before Sega exited the console business.

I'm... so... sorry Smilie

But I did love my Sega MegaDrive like a brother Smilie

maybe I could make up for it by buying a 2nd hand DreamCast for

Thing is, SEGA are a completely different animal, now. Most of the same game developers are there, so they're the same in that sense. But the company decision-makers are all different, now. Sadly, those are the guys that would make a decision like having SEGA go back into the hardware business. Remember, it's SEGA/Sammy, now. It doesn't eradicate all possibility off a hardware comeback, but makes it very unlikely in my book. The conmpany are doing too well with their current business model, to essentially throw it all way (which is what making another console, and only making games for that console would do).

Well, at least Sammy didn't ruin the company, I heard rumours taht sammy were gonna buy out SEGA & stop the 3rd party software production & only continue to make Arcade machines. Smilie

Infact, I had hardly realised that the buy actually went through Smilie

it would sure be cool to have 2 cool companies battling against Sony & Microsoft, not working together of course, but the chances of either Nintendo OR SEGA winning are better than Nintendo's chances of winning alone

Don't agree with you there. Three consoles is about right. All SEGA would do was slice Nintendo's userbase. Sure it would effect Sony and Microsoft as well, but to me it would already be un uphill struggle for SEGA with 3 established companies already out, and SEGA's entry would only mean trouble for Nintendo as well!

If SEGA decided to work WITH Nintendo (however unlikely it may be) then they would have a better chance then against each other Smilie

I just read the whole thread... took me a long while, but from the way you guys all talk about it... Shenmue must be pretty good... I've never played it or even heard of it really *shot*

OK, so I guess eventually I'll have to get a DreamCast, there's one at the local second hand shop for

However, if Microsoft don't pick up Shenmue III for Xbox 360, then it could go to any/all of them, including Nintendo. It all rests on Microsoft, apparently. If they want it, then it's theirs, if not, then it may appear on all formats, or on one of the other (or possibly not at all )

Perhaps it was posponed because MS wouldn't have it...

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Or, because (mid-2005 as it was) Microsoft were more concerned with lining up such AAA titles for their new consoles. It may have just been too late in the day for Xbox.

hey Superlink i feel and understand your dissapointment, but you do know that there is a brand new, exclusive Sonic title comming to the revolution....you did know that didnt you. Besides you could always pick up a Xbox360 (Coz people will be trading them in for the better new consoles..."demise of the DC" will become "demise of the 360" (wishes but knows won't happen)) for 10days and return it in GAME lol.

As for second hand consoles, well i have only bought one other console preowned before, and that was my N64 (i did have one orginally but sold it with all my AAA games to raise some revenue) My N64's have worked perfectly fine.

However my DC......ive had 3...all with really fustrating problems. Such as Constant resetting of the console, Power Problems, Disc Problems. Overheating...my perhaps bad luck with the console or SEGA's lack of abilty to actually TEST their god damn console before release. The problem ive had recently is resseting but the bitch cured herself...for now...

Also i saw some one in school browsing Xbox games and stuff on Ebay, i told him to search DC's and he did. I eventually talked him into buying one for
