Welcome to the official Cubed3 Skyward Sword thread. This is for all discussion related to the game. Please keep any and all SS talk in this thread only, so as not to spoil other people in other threads. You can talk about whatever you like about the game, but make sure you do the following:

Keep ALL spoilers in spoiler tags, however small they might be, please! Always detail what is in your spoiler tag beforehand. E.g. If it's a part of the story after the second dungeon, say so first, then put the spoiler in the spoiler tag. People will then know whether they should click your spoiler or not. Thank you!

Cheers mate! I'm listening to the E3 trailer music a lot lately, which is basically Skyward Sword's main theme. It sounds absolutely amazing, I can't get enough of it. I don't even mind having the sound effects still in it, a few screams from Link make every epic Zelda soundtrack better. (proven fact Smilie) Let's not forget that this is only one soundtrack! I suppose we'll be blown away by orchestrated awesomeness when hearing the all the other ones! Smilie

I was a big fan of the art style from the beginning on and now that we've seen our first "real" location which is Skyloft it really feels even more amazing as everything flawlessly comes together and just fits so perfectly. They really couldn't have thought of a better artstyle for a Wii Zelda game.Smilie

Bird Flying gameplay,

Link looks a bit like Justin Beiber.

I'm actually really excited for Skyward Sword now! The bit about the upgrading of weapons sounds interesting.

While I was watching an interview with Eiji Aonuma about Skyward Sword, I noticed that there was some Skyward Sword trailer footage in there and the colours really looked just MUCH more vibrant than in the other versions of the trailer, heck any trailers I've seen of the game so far. My jaw dropped a little there, tbh. Smilie

Go watch it here NAO! Smilie

IGN Seem to think that the blond girl is actually Zelda, and apparently no romance is going on.

And yeah Sirlink, I thought the same thing about the colours, it seems like IGN's Editors are good at rendering them out.

I never actually thought about how romance stuff going on in a Zelda game would work out. There have only been really subtle things so far concerning that, so it would be a nice twist. Smilie

@Stulaw: Seeing that made me really curious how it's going to look on my HDTV with component cables in 480p since we all know that games tend to look quite a bit better there than in trailers. I'm thinking somewhere inbetween the footage from IGN and actual trailers.

Well in TP, Link had ilia, she ws sort of his love interest, especially the way she acts towards him.

And Links high on drugs moment.

Yeah, I somewhat still count that as subtle with her. Link has a ton of girls to choose from in many games since almost all are basically his fangirls (can't blame them though Smilie) so maybe he should go for it at one point. It seems that he's never really interested into girls like they are into him though. Smilie

Wonder if they'd ever do that though because they still want to somewhat keep Link just a link between you and the game which means not giving him that much personality(or his own text/voice for that matter).

About Link's high on drugs moment, I wonder what he's seeing in that scene? Smilie He could be staring at that girl. Smilie I'm not totally sure if she's Zelda so I'm not calling her by that name. Kinda suspicious about the whole thing still but who knows. Could be her for all we know.

( Edited 30.10.2017 04:58 by Guest )

Oh yeah, from the trailer. I think she is Zelda, and they get seperated only for their decendants to meet again.

I was talking about the one from TP.

Ah, you meant that. Smilie Yeah, it seems that Link likes his drugs from time to time. Smilie That scene there was really weird indeed. Smilie

Will Zelda ever become Queen?

( Edited 30.10.2017 04:58 by Guest )

I like everything so far from Skyward Sword except for one thing. Apparently, Link gets tired...why would they put this in the game?

( Edited 30.10.2017 04:58 by Guest )

I read the same complaint in an article on IGN and don't quite understand it. Link doesn't get tired if you run the same as you would in Twilight Princess meaning at normal speed. Link ONLY gets tired after he SPRINTS so you will actually get to run much faster for a limited amount of time which is a freakin' great thing. Think of it as a temporary movement speed boost. If you don't overdo it and sprint till your stamina goes down all the way Link won't even stop to catch some breath, you can still continue to run normally while your stamina bar refills.

Btw, since there's lots of talk about being able to upgrade things in the game I suspect that you might start out with a lower stamina bar at the beginning and being able to upgrade it throughout the game.

( Edited 30.10.2017 04:58 by Guest )

Has it been confirmed that the gold Wii Remote Plus will be coming bundled with the game?

Absolutely love what I've seen of Skyward Sword from E3. The visuals have completely grown on me since last years E3 and the characters and gameplay ideas look really great.

Throughout different videos, I have seen Link with various shield designs. One was round with a bird foot print on it, another was square and the other was a Hyrulian shield.

I'm one of the playthrough videos, Link gets an upgrade on the flying mechanical beetle, so like first it can only fly and hit switches, but after the upgrade you can cut through some enemies and so on.

Yeah this game definitely looks to have come into its own at E3 this year. Obviously in the last six months the buzz surrounding the then Project Cafe and the 3DS took away a lot of publicity from this - but now its looking really really great.

I like that they seem a little less rigid with the basic Zelda formula. Watching that IGN video it was refreshing to hear you'll be revisiting dungeons/locations with new items that open up completely new levels (though, ha, they were definitely careful not to say back-tracking) - its not exactly that exciting but it definitely shows that maybe they're experimenting more in this game.

Oh and yeah, the visuals are really growing on me.

Orchestrated music! and is it me or does Link seem to have more voice acting too? It's quite subtle, but he now gets out of breath due to the sprint feature, he gulps pretty loudly too and generally makes more sounds.

As I keep saying, it looks absolutely amazing. Smilie

Yeah, I noticed that, the tech demos always look way worse than the finished product.

Meaning Zelda U will look Smilie x10^9000

Media blackout time for this one now, hopefully it'll see release soon. Smilie

(and a gold nunchuk to go with that Remote too, I prefer colour co-ordination. Smilie)

What's the betting we get a cel-shaded Zelda on the U before we get a realistic one? Smilie

In all seriousness though, I wonder about that. Myself and a lot of others want another console WW-style game, but I can't imagine getting one on the U before a realistic one. I read they want to get a Zelda out within the first two years on U, so a second Zelda might be 4 years away. Four years until another cel-Zelda Smilie

It would be nice if they could get two teams working on two different Zeldas, maybe even get the Capcom team back that did Oracle and Minish Cap to do cel-Zelda. WW was one of the most gorgeous games ever released. Ever imagined WW in HD? Take a look at some of these stupidly beautiful WW screens running on Dolphin emulator. Then imagine these graphics on Wii U. Please, Nintendo.

I hope they make the stamina bar less in-your-face. We don't need it popping up with every little thing you do. Smilie

Other than that, I'm really started to like what I'm seeing! Smilie

The screen in general seems far too cluttered, hope there is an option to minimise the controller on the right hand side, its far too big.
