Don't think Thief is coming to Wii U, LS.

Deus Ex has long been thought to be the Square game Straight Right has been working on bringing to Wii U (they did Mass Effect 3). Bit surprising, since it's an old game and can quite literally be grabbed for about £5 now on 360 and PS3. Seems wrong to be bringing it out at full price on Wii U now. You'd have thought more recent games like Sleeping Dogs or Hitman Absolution would have made more sense, but maybe the GamePad features appeal to Deus Ex more.

They'd better alter the ending, my god was it bad. People who complained about Mass Effect 3, never played Deus Ex HR.

But the history of the Wii U shows that old ports sell really well!!!

Right? Smilie

They were both bad, the problem with mass effect is that you had 90 + hours behind the campaign and expected something for your decisions. Other than the ending and the Boss fights, DEHR was a fantastic game. You really needed to play a Hard, No Kill, No Alert playthrough to get the 'feel' of it though.

Deus Ex's was worse for me. They both were criminal in that they let you choose the ending. Which basically meant that your choices amounted to squat. I wanted consequences for my actions, not pick an ending. At least Mass Effect's felt a little bit like closure. Deus Ex felt completely impersonal.

Did you play ME3 before or after the end game patch?

After but apparently they didn't change that much, my first play through also included leviathan DLC

So they are saying that the next gen consoles are going to be the last but overall sell more than the current gen...kind of contradictory don't you think?? I think there might be a longer timeframe between the next consoles, but to say they are going to be the last then say they are going to sell more sounds a little silly. If they did sell more than the current gen then it shows that the demand will still be there for console based gaming and for a further generation after that!

I love how the raw power of the PS3 will create 'innovation', such a stupid and naive concept that power=innovation!

It's only Pachter, it's best not to take him seriously (ever). His numbers are ridiculous too if he seriously expects the nextbox to outsell the 360.

PS. LinkyShinks I know I've said this before but you gotta cut down on the double posting man Smilie even if threads are inactive you can post and edit previous posts into the new one to bump the thread.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention...I feel slightly less relieved...but still begs the question how and why people still listen to his opinions in the first place. So mis-guided!

People listen to him because they paid attention to him in the first place. Now people go "oh this is what Pachter's saying now!" He gets reported on major news sites and they say "god look at that this guy thinks!" he even has his own webshow I think.

And this is all because people paid attention to him in the first place, he has a self-feeding infamy that won't go away because people will always give him attention even though he hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
It's.. bizarre, and it says a lot about the sorry state of game journalism in general.

Pachter is a lot like Fox News, they both thrive because of ignorance and stupidity.

It gets worse, lol

I've probably said this before, but Pachter's fascination with incessantly naysaying Nintendo oftentimes feels as petty as schoolyard console wars. He's wrong.. on so many accounts it's not funny, and he's called a "professional"?

PAX EAST RUMOUR

It has to be Deus Ex.

Yeah probably Deus Ex.

A strong series but it's a shame that it's something that's already so old. Either way, always nice to see more series' that have never been on a Nintendo system before; that didn't really happen with the GC or Wii.

Tomb Raider??

No lol. I will eat my hat if it's anything but Deus Ex. Many, many hints have pointed towards it. Whereas Tomb Raider has pretty much been declared a "no" for Wii U.

Yeah Tomb Raider is perhaps possible in the future, 6th-gen Lara got ported to everything eventually, but I'd be extremely surprised if it wasn't Deus Ex after all the hints + CD said multiple times recently that they weren't working on TR for WiiU.

It's a Nintendo/Square-Enix collaboration project.
