Anybody else having a lot of problems playing SSFIV online lately? Seems like the servers are in really bad shape, I can't even connect to it anymore now.

Really not fun, I lost almost all my points because of the disconnect penalties. Smilie

I lost almost a 1000 pp because the lag was so bad. It's so hard to beat Blanka, Guile and E. Honda in lag. >_<

I went from 1000 PP to pretty much 0 because I got disconnected every time. I didn't even get the chance to fight with lag. So lame. Smilie I hope they are going to fix it soon.

Rumour-time people!

Will this be the EU boxart?

Sure hope so. The golden one is fine but this is even better. Smilie

I like the artwork a lot(as it's my current wallpaper) but what made you think that we are going to get a different boxart than America if I may ask? Smilie

Oh yeah, I still can't get even one match in SSFIV done without disconnecting. :/

Not very zelda-ish IMO, I liked the old ones better, with just that big awesome looking logo on the front, and nothing else.

So classy 8) !

Definitely looks similar to the DS games' boxart. Although this could be just copy and paste.

The 2 DS games had different boxart than the US, Ocarina of Time did, so did Majora's Mask (If I remember rightly). I'm pretty sure Twilight Princess had a slight difference between US and EU/UK.

There may be more than I've mentioned, but yeah. Just trying to state that this isn't unlikely. Considering this boxart is bright and vibrant like the UK versions of PH and ST. I wouldn't rule this one out just yet.

Either way, it's just boxart, I don't care if we get the same as the US, or this or maybe something completely different. I just want the game. Now.

The green mark is missing from the corner of the case so it's probably a copy paste, I wouldn't mind this box art though.

Works fine for me, I managed to get most of my points back. The annoying thing about online though is that everyone above 2000 pp uses auto-block. >_< It's so cheap and boring, you should be able to filter them out. I don't know why Capcom didn't include that option? Guile + lite controls + auto-block + lag = one of the most annoying things ever. I can easily beat them without lag though.

Now that you've said it..weird how I never really noticed that. o.O Might be the fault of some US websites I've been on using the EU boxart though. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask only had slight differences though, at least in my view since they still were only the logo of the game.

I'm still kinda doubting that they'll necessarily continue with that from the two DS games as those had Toon Link in them and a vibrant cover fits those better. Ocarina of Time 3D is very vibrant too but not in the same sense...if that makes any sense for you. Smilie Anyways, I'd like the US boxart but I wouldn't be disappointed if we got that artwork as it looks just as awesome. Smilie

I don't think I've ever fought people online using auto-block, or maybe I just suck in noticing it? I'm gonna try some matches right now, hopefully it's fine for me again as well. Smilie

EDIT: HELL YES! Smilie I'm getting flawless matches again without any lag! Want some matches, L? Smilie

EDIT 2: Duh, what the hell? Now I can't connect to the server again? :/

Amazing artwork there. Can't wait until the 17th of June. Gonna be fucking awesome!

Well, this is really weird. It seems like the disconnects in SSFIV were caused by my router. I set it to WEP(because of Pokémon White) a few days ago and that's apparently where the problems started to rise. Out of curiosity, I set it back to no encryption and I'm having no problems at all again.

I'm no expert in that area as I'm still learning all that at school but how does the encryption of my router suddenly fuck up my entire online gaming with my 3DS when everything worked perfectly fine before? Smilie

It shouldn't be screwing up your online gaming experience. It "could" slow down the speed of your connection a tiny bit if it's a crappy router because encrypting takes some time, but then you would notice it on any device connected wirelessly to that router as well. And even then, it shouldn't screw it all up like that. If you had been using something different like WPA, then I'd say try seeing if the frequency at which the connection is renegociated between the devices isn't set too low (see your router settings), but that's WEP here, so this shouldn't cause any issue.

I don't think your problem lies there, maybe it's just a coincidence that everything seems fine for you just when you turned off the encryption. Try putting it back on, and see if it screws up like that again. And if it does, then I blame the router itself and not the encryption mechanism XD, because the way it was designed, it shouldn't cause that type of issues.

My router works fine on my 3DS in both WEP and WPA. I like my router because it allows "Guest Networks", which means I can get my router to transmit both WEP and WPA at the same time.

I use this anytime I need to connect to WiFi using a DS game. It's really handy. Smilie But yeah, it's most likely a problem with your router. Not entirely sure though. Can't you just connect your DS to WiFi with no encryption anyways? I swear you can.

I know DS games only support WEP, but I'm pretty sure I've played a DS game online without using any encryption on my router.

Thanks for the answers. I didn't use any encryption at all for my router for the past two years and I thought I might as well do it now. I don't think it's an insanely good one since I'm the only person in my family actually using it, but then again I never really checked all the settings it offers. No idea what its problem is but if it just causes trouble I might as well leave it without encryption. Smilie

So... online on the 3DS - not working particularly well for anybody, by the sounds of it? Smilie

Still considering whether I pick a 3DS up or not. If I do it'll be when Ocarina of Time comes out. I nearly bought one last week but I'm moving back from the US to the UK in a month or so - so no point getting one here thank you very much region locking.

Don't take that part too seriously, it's just my router sucking it up when I use an encryption. I have pretty much no problems at all without, not even much lag if any. Smilie

Online has been working perfectly fine for me. And just a heads up, Street Fighters Servers have always been riddled with problems, it was the same on the xbox as well. Some times it won't let me connect, I'll try a few mins later and it will be fine Smilie

I'm having no connection problems either, Soundworks. As Echoes said above, I've had problems connecting to the SSFIV servers but after trying a couple of minutes later/resetting the game it works fine.

Online on 3DS will really kick off for me when Mario Kart 3D gets released 8), unless another major online game gets released before then

Have we had any news about when this update is meant to come out/what it consists of?

I don't think they have announced any details about that so far and I'm constantly checking www.nintendo3dsblog.com for 3DS news. We know pretty much the same about it as before the launch of the 3DS. Smilie

In May sometime, it's definitely going to contain the E-Shop and Web Browser.

I assumed that everyone knows that already as it's been said like a thousand times. Smilie I really hope that it's going to contain a proper messaging system as well. It doesn't have to be insanely great, I just want a way to send people on my friend list a message where the notification LED lights up blue for them like for Spotpass messages. It's really a chore to get SSFIV fights with friends going like this. Smilie

EDIT: Seems like the first of the "new interesting things" in Ocarina of Time 3D has been announced. It's a Boss Challenge where, as the name says, you can fight any previously defeated boss again. You have the option between choosing any boss or take them all on one-by-one in a continuous battle. It says it will be unlocked at a certain point in the game but it's still unsure what that point is.

Pretty cool I must say. Smilie Certainly adds some more replay value to the game. I'm really curious about what all the other things are now. Smilie

Tried the 3DS at Best Buy. Some flying game.
It was 3D, all right. It was probably just because I couldn't possibly care less about the game I was playing, but I wasn't as blown away as I thought I'd be. The 3D was cool, but as it was, it was basically little more than a visual effect. It adds more depth to the game, which is great on its own, but I'm really interested in seeing developers actually USE it. Maybe do things they might not have done otherwise.

Of course, caring about the game would help. I'm sure depth perception alone will make something like, say, Resident Evil that much better, haha. But after that first impression (which again, was a game I don't care about and I had to crouch to see at all because they practically had the system nailed in place on a tiny stool) I'm actually more excited about playing portable games on par with the Xbox than seeing said games in 3D.

I'm sure Zelda might change my mind, though. then I'll be all over that third dimension, haha. And not having to hunch over like I'm bracing for an earthquake might be helpful, too.
