Don't know if this has been mentioned, but GAME are doing a half price launch game deal when you trade in certain DS titles. I remember Mario Kart DS, NSMB and Layton: Lost Future amongst others. Strange how Mario Kart is considered the same value as LF Smilie

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.

Response from ShopTo re bundles:

We are not offering any bundles for the 3DS

SmilieSmilie

ShopTo have also said that they can't lower the price any further at this time.

I've cancelled mine from them. Amazon have consistently lowered the price to meet that of the best retailer, as well as offering more in the way of bundles, so any further price drop could still be matched.

I may not get it on release day, but for a saving of around £30, I can wait. Although the site says I should still get it on release with first class delivery

Played SSFIV today in Gamestation (they have their 3DS stock!) and I have to say it looked really impressive Smilie Loved it, I couldn't tell the graphics apart from the xbox on that small screen either. The effect was really sweet though street fighter felt more like levels of depth. HUD, Fighter, Background.

Was it a demo station or did you have to ask to play it?

Ask.

don't know if this has been asked b4 ( 21 pages is a lot to read thru). can the 3ds still do multiplayer with a single cart? if so are there any improvements to the system?

Yeah it can. The only game we've seen using the feature though is Super Street Fighter IV. The only improvement I've seen is that if the host leaves the other players can still carry on playing the game even if they don't have the game cart.

Argh, I don't know whether to change my pre-order with shopto to Amazon or not Smilie. I trust Shopto with getting it on release though and its only £10 difference....Still it would be nice for them to price match/offer an incentive Smilie

I also just got this through too:

hope there is improvements. it is one of the ds features that is underused. its great for quick sessions of mario kart and bomberman

Played some more SSFIV3D today. I really like this new "Coin System" feature, it will be interesting to see how developers use it. If there are genuinely good incentives, it will mean more people will carry their 3DS's around, which can only be good for everyone that owns one.

These were my thoughts, and the reason why I cancelled theirs. I don't think anything much will change now. You may get it a day early, but I was more concerned about the cost. It means I can afford a second game, with money left for another later on as well.

You know what, Screw it, Imma order with Amazon. Cheaper, and I'm a student. Knocks a tenner off a game with the system.

Hmm, May as well pay the 2 Quid for first class too Smilie

Done: COSMO Black 3DS + Screen Protector + Case + Samurai Warriors Chronicals for £221 + £2 P&P. Better than Shopto, its a shame, because they have never let me down before :/ Pretty much a saving of £30. I wasn't originally going to get a Case/Screen protector, but the case will be useful when I travel. I probably won't use the screen protector though, I may use it on the Top screen though, not sure what would happen if you get a scratch = effect 3D? That said, there isn't a single scratch on my DSlite/DSPhat and I've had them since for 6/4 years.

Played the 3DS for the first time today at a Best Buy. I'm a bit underwhelmed, honestly. I'll be waiting to buy it for sure now. Probably still buy one this year -- but I'm already looking forward to a 3DSi with a better 3D screen.

I'll get the Bad out of the way first:

- That sweet spot is really narrow. I've read all the hands-on etc, but I was still expecting it to be just a hair more forgiving. I ended up turning the 3D off after about five minutes with the unit.

- Pilot Wings is very boring. Probably was the wrong game to try to sell the system with. I wanted to play Street Fighter!

The Good stuff:

+ The 3D does work pretty well; its subtle and pleasant. However, I don't know how often I'll use it considering the small 'sweet-spot' requirement. It also made me uncomfortable pretty quickly -- but until I get my own unit I'll blame that on me continuously fiddling with the 3D slider. I really do like the added depth, I just hate getting the cross talk whenever I move the system.

+ I love the little circle pad. Feels like a dream to the touch, and slides smoothly. Nintendo should have done this ages ago, as its just about perfect!

+ Build feels great. It feels almost identical to a DS lite. Not sure I like the multi-tone color, but it is eye-catching.

I'm still excited about the system, but I'm really hoping that the screen technology improves and Nintendo can put a better one in for the 3DSi.

Street Fighter was really good when I tried it and made me even more phsyched for the system Smilie I don't think that the sweet spot is too narrow either tbh, I haven't had any trouble, to actually move it out of it I had to think about doing it and tilt the system, maybe its just my natural playing position.

On a further note, it looks like my DS should be dispatching on the 24th Smilie I've paid for first class so it should arrive on the Friday Smilie

It might have been because I was standing while playing the system. I don't know -- but anytime I moved the system I saw very visible crosstalk.

You ordered from Amazon, right?

From what I understand talking to them, the consoles and the games should come on day one, but the Screen protectors and cases are from indigostarfish, and aren't guaranteed day one

Yeah I did order from them Smilie I selected the option to lump the delivery together so it may come in two lots or something. Don't really mind, I have a highly depressing research proposal to write into Primark and Labour....a nice cheerful topic.
