In the end you'll hopefully be able to understand everything.

Ok thanks i won't ask anymore questions about story lineSmilieSmilie
ThanksSmilie

ANNOUNCEMENT: The original Persona is being re-made and released for the PSP. I think the re-make of the 2nd for PS1 has already been out.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Actualy the original is already out on PSP in Japan.
As far as I know the 2nd one isn't being remade though.

Yes, but its been announced that the PSP version will be released here in about 3 months. And 2 was reprinted for a limited time(just found out).

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Another announcement!

This thing

So, how will a female protagonist work? Will we be able to choose boy or girl? Will we be FORCED to chat up guys if we play as a girl?

Will FES be in it?
Discuss.

This gives me an excuse to stop looking for the annoyingly rare PS2 version! I love handheld gaming!

Gah, I really want to get into the Megami Tensei franchise, but I\'m one of those that doesn\'t like jumping in half-way, even if it doesn\'t matter that you\'ve not played the originals. I\'d much rather find fan-translations of the original NES games and work my way up from there...there\'s loads of games to work through though, and finding English versions for some of them may not be possible. Smilie

At the very least I\'ll start the Persona series from the PSP remake of Persona 1.

Well if you have to Smilie I\'d say it\'s very unecessary and it\'ll take you ages to get to the best bits of the series!! It\'s not like Kingdom Hearts where the plot for the entire series actually matters, it\'s more like the FF series with a few references to earlier games thrown in.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll probably just get though the NES/SNES games quickly using cheats or something, so they're quick and fun and I can say I've played them. XD Most I probably won't be able to play anyway due to lack of English. Smilie
And I can't afford to actually buy any of the games yet anyway, so I can at least emulate the old ones for free whilst I save up for the PS2/PSP ones that have been released in Europe. Smilie

I still haven't touched Persona 4 in months. I'll probably buy another copy of FES sometime or another(since it and 75% of all my games are STILL missing).

I heard they've re-Japanized Persona for PSP, since the original had tons of stuff cut out.

So you still haven't found one in stores? I found a few PALs on eBay, but I guess PayPal still isn't trusted in your family yet...

A few users I know on Atlus' forums(well, particularly one) are flipping out over this. Rumors have been given as to a male Elizabeth replacement, Full Party control, 5 difficulty settings, first-person dungeon views, etc.

IF THIS INCLUDES FES+, I'll also have a reason not to re-purchase FES. If it doesn't, that increases my To-Buy list by 2.

Hooray for double posting!

HUZZAH FOR EPIC OPENINGS!!!

If that\'s the opening, then I infinitely prefer P3 and P3FES\' opening, Burn My Dread.

I\'m personally not really excited for P3P. I\'m put off by the lack of proper town/social link area exploration.

Yes, I suppose that this new opening is somewhat unoriginal and redundant. But you have to admit, the music gets you going better than the original \"Burn My Dread\" opening.

Don\'t get me wrong, the artistic visuals and the Latin Proverbs are unique, but the music was more like a poem with a basic melody. I get that basic melodies are supposed to be used to mix in bits of them into other music in the game, but P4 had the right idea. Persona 4\'s idea of keeping the opening music upbeat and well made and centering the rest of the \"theme music\" around the life-changing, purely instrumental \"I\'ll Face Myself\" was definitely a good choice. FES also had a good idea, mixing in new scenes with expansion features for visuals, and adding bits of the old opening and ending themes with some LJ freestyle.

I\'ll probably buy P3P sometime in future for the hell of it. But, for now, I\'d rather buy back FES, finish it and P4, and replay P4 on Hard beforehand.

I finally have a bank account now, so I should be able to buy FES soon. Smilie

Persona was officially released yesterday so I got my 2 Disc Soundtrack pre-order bonus and ripped it onto WiMP.

Today I officially started playing it. It's not as good as its sequels, but it's pretty awesome for a classic.

More thoughts as they come up later.

And now for something different:
Apparently, according to a pachinko site, Persona 5 is in the works(maybe only at the idea stage at this point, who knows). And get this now, this is the most hilarious part: IT'S EXCLUSIVELY FOR PS3.

The rumour's been around for a fair while, and it could well be true even though Persona 4 was so recent.

The thing I find hardest to believe is that Atlus would actually make a new graphics engine.

Look familiar? Guess who posted this on Youtube? Smilie

Meh, prolly won't buy. Not unless I love Persona 3 so much that I'd be willing to buy a watered down version on handheld.

It's $40 and they haven't announced any pre-order bonuses so I'll wait until it's around $30. Even then I probably won't play it as much.

What I'm really anticipating is when we'll have 1 more to add to the "I've played FES" group. And for somebody else to join this thread...like Ikana...

All right, hi. Smilie Yes, I have Persona 4 now. Haven't played it yet, but will do soon as I just completed Pokémon Ranger 2 last night. Will most likely start Persona 4 tonight. Though I also bought Fate/Unlimited Codes last night (I completed the original visual novel, by the way) so lots to play. Smilie

Bumpety Bump.

Got Persona 3 FES recently. (Should I change the topic title to "Persona Official Topic"? Think about it I guess) and while I haven't been able to play it, I've seen my brother playing some and here's my initial thoughts on it:

- More Persona goodness, never a bad thing!
- Music isn't nearly as good as P4's
- Art style is more trippy than P4's
- The Dark Hour is possibly creepier than the Midnight Channel/Fog stuff.

And here's a question...
Can you control your team members at all? Smilie You can control everyone in P4 by changing their settings, but it doesn't look like it's that easy in P3.

I need to keep an eye out for Persona 3...I've been playing Persona 4 for about 15 hours now, I'm just trying to rescue Kanji. It's pretty damn awesome. Smilie

You ain't seen nothin' yet. Also the Kanji stuff can seem a bit awkward, but PERSEVERE! Smilie

Another thing I'm not too keen about P3 is getting tired. That means you have to keep cycling between party members you never use Smilie

HINTS:
-Go to the bathroom when you can. Smilie
-No, you can't control your teammates.
-Walking the dog is nice.
-Sunday TV is special.
-Elizabeth has secrets too, so be sure the quest like crazy!
-The mall is open during the night.
-High Cut Armor + Teammate = YES
-Death is harder than the final boss, so don't screw with him until you unlock the door next to the staircase.
-You should only handle one dateable chick at a time. Online chicks and lolis are NOT dateable.
-Don't forget that certain legendary Personae(like below pic) can fuse with fusion weapons to make extra special weapons.
