Yeah well Fang sounds like a little boy when she attacks and I know she an Aussie but she sounds to much like Chloe from UC2 sometimes. Same bitch?

I actually noticed that as well xD
Vanille is pretty distracting tbh, although I guess you get used to it. Wonder what her VA was doing at the time of recording >.>

I doubt it's the same person, the person who plays Chloe isn't Australian from what i remember. As a startgate fan she appeared in seasons 9&10. American no doubt

Nope, she was Australian. But it's not her

Yeah Chloe's VA was in the movie Pitch Black, she's Australian, you Mage of all people should know Australian when ya hear it.

Beat FFXIII tonight. Very cool ending and I'm quite sad it's all over. I waited so long for the game and within 2 weeks I've beaten it, and now it's back to waiting for FFXV, which is probably about 3 years away (with FFXIV beaing an online game I'm not sure it's my cup of tea).

There's plenty of stuff left to do in the game though, and I'm gonna try and get all the trophies, and of course do a second playthrough eventually too.

But after becoming so attached to the characters, I really want to see more of the likes of Lightning and Snow again. I know the Fabula Nova Crystallis series is comprised of games set in different worlds, but they did say the series could span a decade, which hopefully implies we could see a return to Cocoon again in the future.

Also makes me wish Lightning was in Dissidia now too...

Weird I wouldn't have picked her as an Aussie

Seriously? It does sound like she's trying not to be Australian but the accent keeps coming out or something. I don't know.

Maybe it's a Londoner/Liverpudlian situation where I have a different accent to someone from Liverpool. Though I 've never heard of something like that in Australia.

Hahah, same. Not really excited for XIV at all :/ I'm hoping XIV will be a return to form with a truly evolved battle system (maybe a bit more like a mix of XII and IX)

I think the world's lore with Cocoon and Pulse will be making a return, but I'm not sure a decade will happen. I don't reckon we'll see them again outside fanservice and spinoffs.

Guess we'll just have to hope for Dissidia 2.

I stopped playing FFXIII in Chapter 11 because of Pokémon. Who knows when I'll start playing it again Smilie

Well, it seems that an FFXIII-2 might not be completely out of the question if anything producer Kitase recently said is anything to go by:

“That depends on how well the game sells in the West! In the past three years we worked both on the world and on the various systems. Creating these systems isn’t very glamourous and can frankly be a bit boring. If we could do a XIII-2, we could direct all our attention to the story and refine what we have already built.”

I personally would be all for it after the enjoyment I got out of playing FFXIII and getting to know the characters. So I guess it will come down to how well the game sells but it sounds a little promising, which pleases me Smilie

Annnnnd, Nomura has said he's going to do his best to make a sequel to Dissidia! (source)

Surely will include Lightning Smilie I'm not sure what could be added though. I know people were disappointed that you could only play as the heroes in the story mode (despite the "who will you fight for?" tagline for the game which implied choosing a side for the story) so maybe that will change. I would say maybe having two heroes/villains from each FF instead of one too perhaps, but whether the extra characters would simply just be for non-story matches or not is a matter for Square to decide. I'm sure they'll think of some sort of crazy story to excuse having more random FF characters fighting with/against each other.

I couldn't care less how or why they do it to be honest though - a Dissidia 2 with Lightning and more characters and music would be more than enough for me Smilie

Two heroes/villains from each FF is a bit much really. I definitely think the story needs to be worked on, the story for Dissidia was a bit crap tbh, and the cutscenes held so much potential.. the ultimate FF fangasm, but they were just dull and boring and depressing. What's up with that? Crisis Core showed that FF cutscenes on PSP can be full of life, so why was everything about Dissidia's universe (characters, story, locations) so dull?

Anyway, can't wait to hear more about it. I personally hope Sora's in this one. And Ramza from FFT.
Also on FFXII I know Vaan is the obvious choice, but man Balthier would be awesome. He'd have an original moveset considering he's a gun user.
Some FFCC rep would be fantastic too.

I agree that 4 characters per FF would be a lot, especially adding FFXII and XIII into the equation, but all I can imagine is that we'd only be getting Vaan, Lightning and the villain of XIII (won't say any names incase people haven't got passed certain bits in XIII yet) if they didn't add anyone else from other FFs. And for a sequel, I just feel that people would be a bit disappointed with only 3 or 4 extra characters. Unless they add the odd one here and there from random FFs, like more likely characters with a game behind their backs such as Vincent and Yuna. In fact, you make a good point on FFT and FFCC - shouldn't be any reason why the mains from those games/sub-series shouldn't have representatives.

Fully agree on the lowpoints you brought up about Dissidia too. Locations were bland and it made no sense how they just wandered through FF7's planet core to FF8's Ultimecia Castle. Story could really have been better.

I think if Sora were to be in it, they might remove the 'Final Fantasy' moniker, but that might not be such a bad thing if it means adding characters from other Square Enix games. However, if there's one person who can get away with being in the sequel whilst keeping FF in the name, it's Sora.

So I take it that you cant go back to parts of the game later on ch13 because 360 would have to put in discs? what a waste of some good looking areas

really if i find out SE cut stuff out >_<

Just reached chapter 5. The only thing I've had trouble with so far was Odin.

I'm glad I stuck with it, the first two chapters were quite boring due to lack of most things, but at chapter 3 I instantly changed my mind with the addition of paradigms and crystarium. When I first read about it, I thought the paradigm shift would be over complicated, but it works well.

Hmm, I know they screwed up on Star Ocean (I think it was) where you had to do swap discs to go to back certain areas, but I couldn't see them doing that for FFXIII.

It would be pointless going back to most areas but obviously they could have purposely added extra secrets or things that you could access in later chapters in previous areas but instead we cannot go back to most places so it does make you wonder what their thinking was behind this. It is great to sometimes just pay a visit to previous towns/areas in games.

One of my favourite areas was the Sunleth Waterscape which featured a great piece of music too so it's a shame we could not go back there. Same goes for Nautilus. I expected a Gold Saucer type area when I first got to play that chapter, but we could do bugger all and never saw it again. Wonder if we'd be able to go back and do more things in the inevitable FFXIII-2...

Yeah, it really did seem like things just picked up and got better and better as the game went on. It always seemed like new things were being added to the gameplay.

Don't see how multi disk couldn't allow them to go back to areas....considering FF7, 8 and 9 are multidisk....
Also they could have used another DVD if they wanted to Lost Odyssey did it, you will just have to accept SqaureEnix *SHOCKHORRER* made a bad call on this one.

In those games though, the entire game is on each disc, just the FMVs are different. On 13, it only has the relevant sections for each respective part of the story.

In Star Ocean 4, you had to change the disc if you wanted to revsist other areas, which just got stupid.

Not being able to go back has nothing to do with the 360 version. Had they not made the 360 version, the game would be just as linear/lacking as it is now.

They've already admitted to being lazy when it came to making towns.

I agree that is stupid, oh wait thats another square enix game and another blunder on there part, again it didn't have to be like that, because lost odyssey was multidisk and had didn't have any of these problems.

Enjoying The Crystal Bearers gameplay a bit hit and miss for me and could do with a map. love the story so far, by far it best point.

I can see what they was going for but I think if they made it more like a rpg

Square Enix released a short video on their Twitter confirming that FF9 will soon be released on the PSN. Joy!

Meanwhile, I've got 85% of the trophies on FF13 with nearly 107 hours clocked as of now. I think I've played the game every day since it came out... :/

Once I've got 100% I'm sure I'll have a break haha.

Also bought FF Tactics A2 for the DS off ebay for £8.49 including postage. Was a big fan of FFT Advance so wanted this one for a long time. Good to grab it for under a tenner.

Doesn't seem to say. The video was a 6 second clip in Japanese, so a true official announcement has yet to be made. I'd wager it would be the Japan region, but who knows? Could be worldwide..?

Doubt it. So far they've been coming to western PSN like 6 months AFTER the Japanese release.
