Nice, I'm loving these Assist Trophies. I hope they don't reveal too many of them though, I'd like to keep that and the Power Smashes a secret.

My guess is that Meta Knight will be the next character seen on the Smash Bros Dojo. Ususally when they start appearing more in screens they're not too far away from being revealed.

Is Knuckle Joe a trophy or character?

He's an Assist Trophy.

Damn, me thinks that assist trophy would have made a fine character.

Assist trophys are Awsome! they could use alot of characters form kirbys world as assist trophies.

I wish they still kept the doll theme from SSB. I don't care for the trophies. Assist Dolls, maybe?

Trophies sound alot more like a fighting game, I like the trophies better. Dolls were only in the original, SSBM had trophies too, thus collecting trophies, not dolls.

EDIT: on the flip side, usally dolls will come to life in stories, that happens quite often and makes more sense. Where as I have never heard of anything with living trophies... Eh, its different, so its cool.

As you might expect from Donkey Kong, his Final Smash is something...upbeat. That's right, he's breaking out the DK Bongos!

It's cool to just pound on them, but why not listen to the music that's playing? Press buttons in time to the beat to really get things hopping.

1, 2, 3...dum, doo, dum dum!

Now clap! Clappity clap clap!

Feel the rhythm and increase the power! T-t-take it easy, will ya!

And finish!

DK's invulnerable while in the middle of this move, so take it easy and enjoy the moment.

Oh, and jamming during screen scrolls and such is something you might want to...think about.

An Animal Crossing related item now? Huh, suspicious.

This item appeared in the game Animal Crossing. Bury it in the ground and it becomes a trap. If you love playing tricks on others, this item can't be beat.

When you throw a Pitfall at the ground...

It vanishes!

When someone touches it, PLUNK!

Now's your chance. You can't help but grin.

Incidentally, it also has an effect if you simply hit someone with it instead of setting it in the ground.

If you get hit by a Pitfall, you'll drop through pass-through floors!

Getting thoroughly fooled by a trap like this... It's pretty humiliating.

Nice update. Was actually thinking if the pitfalls from AC would ever become an item in SSBB, looks like it did. Sweet.

I don't really understand the pitfall item. Does it cause you to be stuck /in/ the ground or just to fall right through it?

Stuck on the ground levels and fall throught to the ground when on platforms I assume.

Cool! I wonder what will happen with siade scrolling stages like dks treetop, Will you just fall through everything and die?

Brill, hope they do the same actions as the AC characters when they get caught in them, because I find that hilarious...

Ike

From Fire Emblem, Ike appears! The fact that he can wield a two-handed sword with a single hand is a testament to his magnificent strength.

He brings his special move "Aether" with him as he crashes the Brawl party. Try for a single-stroke finishing blow with his mighty blade!

OMG, about time they reveal a new character. A good one too. My only concern is that, will he be replacing Roy or Marth?

Screw Marth and Roy - Ike is enough on his own. Plus, he's not as fast as the other two, but he seems to be stronger than both (or on par, who knows). I wonder if his sword's ability to have ranged attacks will carry over into the game..

My biggest question is if Aether is his Final Smash or not. It can easily take down a lot of people in PoR, and if it has the same ability to lower defense and double damage, expect your damage percentages to skyrocket after you get hit by Aether.

EDIT - I wish they had used his Lord image, though, since it's a hell of a lot cooler looking.

EDIT, part deux: I guess this confirms Ike to be the first character revealed that you will have to unlock (because of the challenger approaching banner above his entry). I guess it'd be safe to say all the others will be useable from the start, but where's Snake?

I've been guessing this would happen for a while, & unless Marth & Roy appear in a Fire Emblem game just around the corner, they probably won't be returning.

& it really seems like there will be an Animal Crossing character huh? Already 2 AC themed things... unless Nintendo are just using themes without characters.

& I liked the dolls from SSB64, mainly because every character had an individual entry to the match, which was cool. In Melee they just came out of Trophies though, which was boring.
