Join a friends game...

So this is done from the home menu friends list, which means it'll be part of the next update, or part of an update on the game cart itself. Nice !

I still need to pre-order my copy. I've not got round to doing hardly anything since Zelda and it's not good. I'm cutting down my playtime now, to get important things done.

Yeah, I noticed the high price on ShopTo. Would normally have ordered from there for their great track record, but held off looking for the best deal. Was waiting for a voucher and immediately put it on to get it for the best price around in the end :]

Mario Kart Wii was a lot of fun online. With the 3DS' much improved online and the pretty impressive community set up Nintendo have put in MK7, playing online should be a lot of fun. Can't wait!

The music park and piranha plant slide tracks made me smile for some reason. This game looks awesome.

SNES Rainbow Road footage:

I'm really glad they didn't remix the music loads. The SNES Rainbow Road music is my favourite out of all of them. I love that Mario Kart 64 race results music too.

The Thwomps creating ripples in the course is a fantastic idea, you'll probably be able to get some boosts off them, like in Mario Kart Wii.

Definitely, love the music. Pure nostalgia rushing through my veins every time I hear that RR tune. MK series needs a lot more SMK and MK64 represent, both in terms of tracks and music. Tis why I wish for a MK with every track from the series some day!

SNES Rainbow Road looks ace, love the Twomp effect and other subtle changes.

Overall though, thinking some of the power-ups maybe a bit too much - worry that it'll become irritating to race when people have the Lucky 7, fire flower etc.

If you're bothered about those for online play, you know you can set the rules for which items appear in specialised rooms right?

If you mean for outside of online though, or non-friend online matches, perhaps, but can't see it being anywhere near as bad as MKWii.

It would have been cool if they let you have it in the first-person view, but let you use the slide pad to control still.

I thought I saw the blue shell flying. I thought the one from N64 was back, where it went along the ground knocking out all (or most) of the players in front?
