Sonic Colours Official Thread [Wii/DS]

Or if you're a 'mericin, "Sonic Colors".

So yeah, I made this so people can chat about Sonic's new 3D title that will "probably be better than Unleashed but still not as amazing as Sonic should be". Not only that, but so I can post little things that won't go up as news, so you C3ers don't have to miss anything.

Official Teaser:

Nintendo Power and Official Nintendo Magazine are both having big Previews around E3, and in all likeliness the game will be shown at E3.

What we know:
- The Wii version is pretty much Sonic Unleashed 2, without Werehog, and with powerups (think Mario style).
- The DS version is pretty much Sonic Rush 3, without Blaze, and with powerups (think Mario style).
- The Zones will be crazy space Zones, including a world of sweets and donuts and aaaah.
- Eggmanland returns
- An assortment of badniks, including a few returning from old games, and those darn Egg Pawns again.
- Sonic is the only playable character in story mode, Tails will be an assisting NPC (as usual =_=).
- Knuckles and Shadow might appear as NPCs.
- This has nothing to do with the Storybook series, it's a mainseries title exclusive to Wii and DS.
- Metal Sonic is rumoured to return!

Inb4 Sonic Cycle. The second stage probably won't happen. I know this might be hard to comprehend.

From the info we have there I'd say it sounds pretty good. Looking forward to having some actual footage of both games in motion.

So now that that dastardly opening post is out the way, I can post Nintendo Power leaked scans discretely what who said that not me.

The scans actually look pretty good, looking quite forward to both versions of the game now.

Looks like Tails will have some annoying side role again.

Looking forward to Colours and hopefully they're able to make the levels fun and varied. Wasn't too impressed with Unleashed Wii's simple level designs.

Dissapointed about the lack of Tails as playable, but the screens look pretty ace!

A threw a banner together and stuck it at the top of the first post. I might remake it depending on how shit it is in retrospect ;P

I'm getting really excited about Sonic games this year. No werehogs, swords or Silver!

That and the removal of the mine cart level in Sonic 4 (its now only in the iphone version) makes me a happy Sonic fan.

But yeah things are definitely looking up for Sonic right now! Even if he still can't reach Mario levels of quality in 3D games, it's still better than it has been.

Here! Still, it's not 100% confirmed and is pretty much a rumor at this point but I want to believe it anyway. Keep saying it and it'll come true.

That said it's very possibly true and it could be one of the reasons for the delay. Maybe they're making stages to replace them? Or maybe they'll just take it out altogether and Lost Labyrinth will only have 2 Acts :/
Either way this isn't Sonic Colours back on topic.

Noone's heard any mention of important things like the Chaos Emeralds yet, so people think this is like a midway point between Sonic 4:1 and next years big 20th Anniversary game, whatever that is.

I had never heard of the site before so didn't know owt about it.

And yes, back to Colours. It looks like Colours for DS and possibly Wii will recycle the enemies from Rush. Want the animal/insect robots from the classics to be back for good.

Very decent quality footage here, of the first two acts.

Looks fun. Didn't like how empty and dull the Wii version of Unleashed look but this looks much improved. The drill power up looks great.

Quite like the idea of different power ups in the game. This is defo gonna be an awesome game to play.

Let me put this in a way that anyone can understand.
- Sonic Colours has no gimmicks
- The gameplay is speedy Sonic only

Yes, that part of Sonic Unleashed that was well received by reviewers just happens to be the only part of Unleashed coming into this. Nothing else.

The second stage of the Sonic Cycle will not happen, don't mess up an otherwise optimistic thread full of great gameplay videos with the same old Sonic pessimism that we're all bored to death off, especially when it doesn't even mean anything in the context of this game.
