you don't even bother trying to talk about it.
If you don't have a single constructive thing to say, any legitimate criticism, if you're just going to predictably write a single sentence or two about how much you think Sonic sucks in every single Sonic related thread...
Then please, just don't bother posting in them at all. You're just going to annoy people who are actually posting relevantly.
Back on topic....
Playtests from E3 have been very positive about Sonic Colours, most publications enjoyed what they played, and some of them have nominated it for their Best of E3.
With a good 3D and 2D title on the way, it's a same SEGA had to ruin everything that was goin so well by announcing Sonic FreeRiders. :/

This game looks like what we all hoped for, Sonic Unleashed without Warehog. Another game to put on my list. Actually 2 since the DS one looks just as good.

Ah it's just a nat- sorry kinect launch games, just pretend it doesn't exist.
Looks like Sonic Colours will debut Sonic's new Voice Actor. Can't say I'm familiar with his work, but he has experience, so I'm intrigued as to how he'll do.
Imagin he ended up having a really deep voice and a mexican accent.
I'll copy a post I just made on Tumblr. It's informative.
Everyone except Eggman’s amazing VA, Mike Pollock, are leaving and being replaced with more experienced VAs. I’m gonna miss some of them though.
Sonic’s new VA = Roger Craig Smith
Known for: Chris Redfield - Resident Evil 5
Siegfried - Soulcalibur
Deidara - Naruto Shippuden
Zagi - Tales of Vesperia (HOLY SHIT!!)
Eddy - Tekken 6
Valkyria Chronicles - Vyse
Very impressive right off the bat!
Tails’ New VA = Kate Higgins
Known for: Sakura Haruno - Naruto
Arietta - Tales of The Abyss
Sodia - Tales of Vesperia
Uzuki and Rhyme - The World Ends With You
Cordelia - Valkyria Chronicles
Also pretty impressive! Can’t wait for the other voices to be revealed.
I really hope Amy’s new voice isn’t Laura Bailey. I like Laura Bailey but she’d probably use her extremely annoying voice for Amy. Also I want Johnny Yong Bosch to voice someone. That would be sweet. >>
So we know that Sonic's VA has very good voice range. Generally a talented guy who won't need to set into his role for years before finally sounding awesome (like Griffith)
I'll still really miss Griffith though, he was much better than most of Sonic's other VAs in the end.

A revamp on the voice acting might not hurt though. To me Griffith sounded some what monotone and uninteresting. (unlike the previous actor from SA)
Something worth posting to since I didn't expect them to make a change.
Voice actors never really bothered me, it's more the dialoge than anything else("All Right!, "Lets Go!", "COOL!".)
At the end of the day it's for children so it's always gonna sound a bit cheesy and crummy hopefully the new voice is just a little less irritating.
Though i will most likely skip any substantial scenes of dialogue anyway.

Although Griffith started out pretty terrible (especially in Sonic X and Shadow The Hedgehog) I think that he really grew into Sonic's role.
I play Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 and Heroes again and I realise that Ryan Drummund's voice was incredibly loud, melodramatic and annoying.
"WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOAAAAAAAAAAA"
vijodfbgvhoihuuivsjd.
Voice acting did improve with the later 3D Sonics I felt. Especially the lipsing animation - LOL at SA1 Dreamcast. Good times, good times!

"Whoooah a chaos emerald". Biggest surprised expression I have seen in a game. Funny that in SA2 it was not as comedic as the first game, it was more serious and dark.
it was more serious and dark.
I'm not the biggest sonic fan but it isn't looking to bad I must say.
Always found it weird how good sonic game look this gen, particularly on the Wii and it isn't even that much of a step up from the GC gardware.
The previous gen sonics looked pretty awful in comparison, always really poor textures, sharp angles and had a really over saturated look to them.
Wonder if it was just a result of SEGA reusing dreamcast engines for ages.

Why did he have to say that?

How can SEGA still be so bad with demographics? He clearly has no idea what he's talking about.
Core gamers and older gamers are not synonymous. Look at Mario Galaxy for crying out loud.
Just looks like another Sonic game, to me. Don't see how you guys are getting so hyped at the scans/vids? I stopped caring when they changed Robotnik's name to Eggman. If any superfags want to correct me saying "BUT THAT WAS HIS ORIGINAL JAPANESE NAME!".. go right ahead.
Maybe they should try a 4D Sonic? Have wind blowing in your face as you're speeding around hoops, etc. Have the controller become progressively heavier as you collect more golden rings (gold is heavy). Have the console emit wiffs of fart smells when Robotnik comes on screen.
An so much more. 3D isn't right for Sonic, and they perfected 2D Sonic back in the early 90s. 4D ftw. or maybe even 1D?

If the OLD original team of Sonic developers made 3D Sonics, I'm sure things would have been different.
It isn't the reason, it just so happens that they changed fat boy's name right around the time the games started to whiff of poo smells. So I stopped caring at that time. It did sound like I meant what you said, though.
As for the devs.. not necessarily bro. As we know, Sonic is about speed. In a 2D setting, it just sort of 'fits'. Though you do have to learn the levels to get absolutely boss times, it's simple 2D structure also meant first-time players could also get decently-speedy results.
True 3D gameplay and speed don't really mix, in my opinion. I mean, there are fast 3D games obviously, but I remember Sonic being so fucking fast the the game even lost track of where Sonic was at times! So they have these 'fake 3D' games that are just these linear, on-rail jumpathons.
Any 3D games that fall under action/adventure, platforming, fps, rpg, feel to me like they have to be non-linear, to some degree. Especially when your character is on foot, but magically obstructed by mile-high invisible walls and such, rendering seemingly small obstacles insurmountable. But if Sonic is non-linear, they have to slow him down a lot. Then he's just lame.
So I don't know if the original devs would've done a better job. Maybe the concept of Sonic is just really, really difficult to do well in 3D. For my money, the best 3D Sonic game is Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. It has the speed, but doesn't suffer from being linear because you're racing cars and such. You don't feel inhibited.
Am I making sense?

Plus, Unleashed works pretty well at being really speedy. You should try it, if you haven't.

Plus Martin, older Sonic games are far more non-linear than recent ones. There are tons of branching pathways like high roads and low roads packed with secrets, his newer games are often just straight paths to run along. Really, quite the opposite of non-linear.
Am I making sense?
Rush and Unleashed (while half of Unleashed is crappy, Colours will be fixing that) are really all about the speed, and it's linear, and it's fun.
Infact it's actually lacking the exploration that the original MD titles had, which is what they're hopefully bringing back for Sonic 4.
Playing S3&K again reminded me of how subtley complex the games used to be. I miss it.

Still definitely won't be getting it man, sorry.

But try it out if you get the chance. Without any shitty gimmicks Sonic has a chance of scoring a solid title again.
Is it a Wii-only thing? For sure I won't be getting it, then! I has crie.
Well, this game seems a little childish, I mean all the sonic games after Sonic Heroes were a disappointment to me. So I don't know what to think of this game.
Dunno if it has been posted but I'll stick it here

Found this on Neogaf, someone got a recording of the new guy doing sonics voice.
