At this time of year, it's time to remember the resurrection of a very important man.

The man I am talking about is, of course, The Doctor, who will be returning to BBC1 at 6.20 Saturday 3rd April.

Me, I'm undecided about Matt Smith. I'm giving him a couple of weeks to establish my feelings. Before David Tennants first shows, there wre a load unhappy with the choice of him.

So, what does this series have in store?
Amy Pond
Daleks in World War 2
Weeping Angels AND River Song
Vampires in Venice

amongst other things.

I figured it made more sense to keep discussion of the Specials and new series separate, due to all the new stuff: TARDIS, Logo, Doctor, Assisstant, Producers etc.

Awesome thread Lrrr Smilie

Agreed about Matt Smith, he could be great, but I just hope he doesn't try to be Tennant too badly.

Weeping Angels

Waaaah.... Smilie

Can't fucking wait anyway.

PS. Tennant was awesome. NEVAR FORGET, but welcome Smith with open arms too.

It seems that episodes 1 and 3 will be 65 minutes, whilst 2 will be 45 minutes

BBC info on episode 3

Seems strange to have a longer episode outside of the series opening and closing

I've seen about short 4 clips from the first episode and one from another episode further down the series. Can't remember which.

Anyways, I loved every one of them. I was a little bit disappointed with Matt Smith at the end of New Year's special but really think he'll make a great doctor after watching the clips.

I can't wait to see the new Tardis. Exciting!!! Smilie

To be fair, he only had about a minutes screen time so it's hard to judge from that.

I just didn't like how goofy he acted "ooo, fingers".

As I said though, what I've seen of him since then, I've liked.

lol, you didn't like how "goofy" he acted, all of the doctors so far have acted REALLY goofy.

Not the same as what I meant. Smilie

Anyways, that don't matter. Only one hour left. Smilie

Not bad. Not bad at all. Seems we may have a series arc set up already with the cracks in the Universe and Science falling

Opening titles...meh, didn't like em as much

I liked him a lot better than I thought I would straight away

The TARDIS seemed pretty cool as well, although the minor teasing of the reveal got annoying.

Patrick Moore is a dirty, dirty old man. I liked Smith too, he fitted very well. Don't invite him over for dinner though.

P.S. The doctor uses Linux.

I think Matt Smith is already awesome, so far it's hard to tell what his character trait is, but it's funny to see him experimenting with new catchphrases.

I thought it was an excellent opening episode, Amy is cute and it's nice to FINALLY see a new locale and cast of characters. The episode didn't rely on Darleks or Cybermen or anything, and even with the pretty generic as hell alien design it was still very well written imo. Looking very forward to seeing how things pan out! Smilie

And did I mention I thought Smith was awesome? His costume is great, he's definitely not trying too hard to be Tennant. Yeah, it's gonna be an awesome series. When's the next episode?

first eps he have to be a bit off he just change from one doc to the next you cant just do that and not be all over in the first ep

I loved everything about it. Smilie

The opening titles will take some getting used to but I just like how the entire show feels fresh and new.

Can't wait for the rest now.

The use of Daleks and Cybermen looks like they may be more than just the same this series also judging from the trailer at the end which is great news.

Just finished (recorded on sky) and loved it. Matt is pretty talented and slipped into the role much easier than Tennant did Smilie

Is the next episode next week?

Yup, thirteen episodes weekly, and here's some interesting very minor spoilers for people interested

Also, Season 6 (or 2) is confirmed for NEXT YEAR! So the thing about us getting a season every two years must have been some kind of horrible joke!
All is well in the world.

Screw this, I'm watching it again.

I'm not particularly a fan of Dr Who, but for some reason I feel compelled to watch it sometimes. I think the new Doctor is good and his sidekick seems too be quite a good choice too.

It's repeated tonight on BBC 3, in 10 minutes. And I'm gonna watch it again

I actually like Matt as the new Doctor, the episode was really funny. Looking forward to the next episode.
