Just posted a quick news story up on the front page - the suspected name of the main guy in Ace Attorney 4 has apparently been confirmed as Apollo Justice now. Smilie Pretty cool name I think, though doesn't sound as good as Phoenix Wright, which was just a great name - the obvious 'right' connection, and the 'rising from the ashes' implications of his Phoenix nickname, as he drags himself back from the brink each time.

Does the name Apollo have any implications like that? I can think of him as the Greek God who I think was an archer of truth or somesuch, so that could be the reason for the choice...either way, I think I like it.

Dunno, the word Apollo reminds me of some kind of Space ship. I guess his hairstyle is out of this world though. Smilie

I also quite liked the joke Phoenix told Moe. I thought it was funny Smilie & I also liked the lunch Ms Angel Starr made to celebrate the outcome of "Rise From the Ashes" "The Wright Way Lunch" Smilie bitter as defeat on the top but sweet as victory underneath.

I'm not too sure about the name. I guess it is not big deal, but it does remind me of the Apollo space program a little bit too much.

Why should I get Justice For All ?. [LS]

I think we'll get used to it. Phoenix Wright was a weird name for many people originally, too. Not for me, but I know some people really didn't like it. I'm adjusting to the Apollo name because of the implications it has behind it that I say above and just convincing myself that's what they had in mind when they chose it...

I actually liked the name Phoenix Wright from the start if I remember correctly. Dunno why, it just sounded bold to me. I don't necessarily dislike the new name, I'm just not too sure I like it (if that sentence even makes sense Smilie). It will likely grow on me as you said though.

More Pheonix Wright action. If you loved the first and are wanting some new "episodes", then go for it. If you aren't interesting in following up then there isn't much of a reason to buy it.

By the way, I still haven't got to case four. Imagine about 20 hours in the car on the way back and forth to Canada and I still didn't advance one case. I spent most of the time playing Meteos. Addicting little game...

Maybe it's set in space or something, that would be in keeping with the madness of the series. [LS]

PHOENIX WRIGHT ACE ATTORNEY: JUSTICE FOR ALL :: CASE 4 (FAREWELL, MY TURNABOUT) IMPRESSIONS

!Lots of spoilers for Case 4 and some for the rest of the game below!

Yes, it took me forever, but frankly, case 3 had me bored. It was going okay, and had a lot of funny pop-culuture references, but really, it just wasn't engaging. That is until the very end when Edgeworth was shown sitting at the airport talking on the phone to Gumshoe. Oh. My. Gosh.

From that point on I could not put the game down. I voraciously played through case 4 in a few days. It was incredible. It was the best of every case that has been released so far. It was mysterious, it was suspenseful, and most importantly, there wasn't a single dull moment.

And also importantly, every twist was exciting. It wasn't like how Rise from the Ashes was at times where it was a roller coaster of twists that you just wished would stop.

Every single one of them was amazing and exciting, and made you desperately not want it to end.

The absolute best thing though was Maya getting kidnapped. Brilliant move that really created an air of tension around the whole case. At one hand you were trying to find the truth, and yet on the other hand the truth meant Maya would be killed.

If you have still persisted to read this much and haven't played case 4, then absolutely stop right now! Stop I tell you!

And my anticipation for Trials and Tribulations has never been higher.

The rest of the game was...tbh worse than the first. Aside from the brilliant final case, there wasn't a single twist that surprised me in the entire game. Everything was well done as usual, but the stories just weren't as gripping.

Therefore I was quite ready to crown the original as the better of the two. However Farewell, My Turnabout changed all of that. It is that amazing. Justice for All is the better of the two simply because of that final case!.

Seriously, there wasn't a single boring moment, and the delicate balance of keeping your client leaning toward innocence for Maya's sake, and yet not entirely free from suspicion in court was incredible.

!End of Spoilers!

Mason you were entirely right, that case was awesome, and definitely warrants a purchase of the entire game on its own. Definitely going to go down in my book as one of the most incredible things in my video game experiences.

So yeah, let's bring this topic back. *sticky* Smilie

Woohoo for sticky!

Anyway, Trials & Tribulatios comes out in October in US, I don't think I'll be able to wait for a EU release, infact I dunno if there's any question I'll be importing it.

& about Rise from the Ashes, I found it really boring & tedious at first, but as I got further into it, I got attatched to all the characters as usual. & Rise From the Ashes is what gives Phoenix his western name I guess. & I like the title as well, because that's what Phoenix' are said to do. Lots of little references to his name. I wonder if Apollo will have the same things? It's been translated very thoroughly, & they've even created little references that I doubt were in the Japanese versions. It truly is an awesome game, I can't wait for the 3rd. It looks like they're going to be cramming in so much stuff into just 4 Chapters. One or 2 of them are flashback chapters too aren't they?

Just got Justice for All...friggen great game, up to the start of the trail on the second case and I absolutly love it so far.

Bit confused with a few character referances and such at first as I havent played the original...which I need to obviously lol.

Very chalenging, yet refreshing, game Smilie and its one of those games that I feel would actually keep me interested on a long drive...which is rare now-a-days.

Actually, according to Wikipedia, there are FIVE chapters in Trials and Tribulations. Champagne time.

I dunno if it is real though:

And I am not trying to say I did not like Rise from the Ashes - it was great. My favorite until Case 4 here. It just definitely wasn't perfect. Boring at times, and while twists are good, it had just a few too many. Still incredible, the second best out of them all IMO.

Get that one ASAP boi!

Just *cough* aquired it there Smilie, cant wait. A bit of advice, should I continue to play the second one then go back and play the original or should I start and finish the original then continue with the second?

Acquired? Smilie

Hmmm...that's a good question. To be honest, you don't need to play the first to enjoy the second, but it will definitely enhance the experience a bit, you'll catch things that you normally wouldn't anyway. How far are you into it?

Lemme guess, Phil set you up with his...."import" stuff. Smilie

Okay then, I'd personally recommend you start the first game then, since you aren't too far into the second game..

As I said, it isn't a huge deal, but if you'd like to know about some of the back-stories first, then you should go start the first game.

Hehe, glad the last case changed your mind! Same thing that happened to me.

I'm off on holiday for a week, and when I get back it'll only be just over a week until number 3 is out in Japan. Then I should have it a week or so later. Smilie

It seems that the western release depends on the success of Trials & Tribulations in US, so buy buy buy. Smilie

You'll have to let us know how it compares! I'm liking how it is combining flashbacks of old cases with new ones. Hopefully it will be great throughout. I'm hoping Franziska von Karma returns. Her character was just beginning to really flesh out when the game ended...

My guess is that they are just saying that....but we can't take the risk! Buy seven copies! Smilie

Yeah, I hated Manfred, but Franziska is rly cool :3

I think they're calling our bluff about sales of Trials and Tribulations for Apollo Justice to come out - they're already in the middle of translating it...

Yeah, especially after its massive success in Japan, and the so far success of all the other Phoenix Wright titles over seas, it just makes sense for them to bring 4 over. They're just trying to guilt us into buying 3....which most of us will do anyway.

But anyway, I am very excited that T & T will feature five cases instead of four - five is a good amount, it felt somewhat lacking that Justice for All only had four cases.

If it did have 5, I'd be very pleased with it, but that Wiki entry isbn't too reliable, since until recently, it only had 1/2 cases mentioned, & not very much coverage on them. There has to be a better way to find out how many cases are in it :-/

Twitter | C3 Writer/Moderator | Backloggery

Yeah...I'm really hoping that isn't fake. Five would be very nice.

I'm also wondering how the presentation of the fourth is going to be. Cut outs and stills are okay for an updated GBA port, but I think it would be pretty cool to see some FMV for some of the scenes in 4. (not fancy FMV, stuff that very closely resembles the game's style; kind of like the security tape from Rise from the Ashes.) Maybe even some voice acting....or am I going too far now. Smilie

What are some advancements you guys are hoping for?

They grey haired guy is Edgeworth.

O RLY?

Well, according to Wiki, & a few trailers I've seen of the game, it seems like most of the game's cases will use the features seen in Rise From the Ashes.

Twitter | C3 Writer/Moderator | Backloggery

Well that's good - as I said before, one of the most exciting prospects of Ace Attorney 4 is that it will be like case 5 of the first, times 4. Smilie (well I suppose times 3 since the first case of all of them is nearly throw-away).

I am hoping they will do a bit more though, seeing as they no longer have the constraint of not being able to take it too far lest it seem entirely different than the preceding four GBA port episodes. With an entirely new main character, and with the game being built completely for the DS, I'd like to see some nice stuff. I'll be happy either way, I'm sure, but it would be cool, and would definitely advance the series, I think.

And I have to ask, how do you get sound in your objections? When I do them, it is always without music.
