Oh yeah, there's Professor Layton as well, another series which I didn't play yet. Do you think if the crossover gets localised, would it be useful for getting a good grasp of both franchises? I don't think I've read anything about how the game plays or something yet...Smilie

I for one think it will be localised. As for gameplay, it's a mystery to all of us, but the developers promise the best aspects of both franchises will make it through.

And as a crossover I'm assuming it'll be detached from the main continuity of both series'. Luke is younger so for Layton it's set during the prequel trilogy, and as for Phoenix it's most likely set shortly after the events of his third game.

Oh, that's great to hear then! Smilie I'll definitely get it if the developers keep that promise. Them being detached from the main continuity isn't a problem for me as story is generally one of the least important aspects of any game for me, except for Okami and Okamiden. I want every little bit of story from those games. Smilie

I really do hope Layton vs. Phoenix Wright gets localised, same for AAI2. Capcom need to pull their finger out. Smilie

Not really appropriate for this thread, but I hope we get the first title in the Layton prequel trilogy soon...

I assure you AA is different, because AA isn't a game, it's an interactive story.

Basically story is AA's whole point. For the crossover title the story will surely be self contained and amazing, having the best storytellers from both Capcom and Level5 working on it, but as for the AA series itself, story is definitely the most important aspect.

It's been a while since this was posted in, seems like as good a time as any to revive it!

BEHOLD, FAIR DENIZENS OF THE C3 ACE ATTORNEY FANDOM, ACE ATTORNEY 5!

- Phoenix returns with a new companion!
- Confirmed for English release!
- still no word on Ace Attorney Investigations 2

Time to get some good ol' fashioned speculah going on in here, I'll be the first to ask the questions almost everyone probably has on their mind, and the questions that I expect to be answered in some form or another in the game itself.

- Apollo? Trucy? Maya? Thalassa? Edgeworth?

Actually.. those are the big questions for me, what became of them? I think Apollo and Trucy have a wright (badumtss) to at least be mentioned! Especially as Trucy is legally Phoenix' daughter and he wubs her very much (who doesn't?)

So yeah I really hope we see Trucy.

Plus I'm sure the fans would love to see older Maya or Edgeworth.

Bump, copied from the other thread because it's important, and this thread needs more activity again!
Ace Attorney 5: Capcom's plea!

Am I worried? I don't think so. If fans really love the series and want to play the game in English, we're expecting them to be there. If they're not, well, that tells us something too. I'm betting on you guys.......by bringing AA5 to the West (which is a sizable commitment between localization, PD and marketing), I would say, Capcom is also showing a lot of faith in you.
Capcom may not be "worried", but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to rally some support! I know some people have lost interest in this series in recent years but this entry is shaping up to be bloody brilliant, and if you like visual novels (like 999 or VLR or even Layton) then I think you owe it to yourself to try the series out!I really hope AA5 is a success, it deserves to be.

I'm buying it, day one. Phoenix will me mine once again *squee*

Only scared it won't sell well regardless of it being an amazing series/ game.

It lacks mass appeal and there seems to be a shockingly large fanbase that want to boycott the game as they aren't getting a physical release.

Yeah I've seen it too :/ It honestly makes me genuinely angry how people don't seem to understand the situation at all and have also completely misunderstood the entire point of a boycott. Literally all they'll accomplish is killing the future of the series in the west, some great accomplishment.

I think I'm going to buy 2 copies to show my support actually.
