Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - Friend Codes, Trades and Chat  (locked)

Jorge and Suze will be playing about 8:30pm.

Those ready now could play now for a bit, but I don't wanna burn myself out before then too much. Do people wanna play now, or you okay to wait till about 8pm (UK)?

Well, we could just mess around a bit in maybe battle mode until then and nothing too crazy, so you're still in good shape to kick jb's ass. I'm on a Skype call with Marzy and Mush right now, if you wanna join later with the other two then that's cool too.

Wayne (Ifrit) said he'll come on at 8:30 too. I might mess around at about 8ish or something. I might Skype but wanna save it for the Sunday sesh too lol. I'll check back here in half an hour or so.

Never thought I would get such a nostalgic feeling from using the Wii Wheel (Set to manual of course )

Had great fun in the races, even if I was a magnet for 90% of the projectiles Mario Kart 8 can't come fast enough.

Never thought I would get such a nostalgic feeling from using the Wii Wheel

I used to prefer it! Spent day one of MK Wii racing with the wheel only, then migrated to GC, but overall I prefer Wii Remote and nunchuck definitely - makes wheelies earlier I think.

It seems I could do tonight, from 6:30pm onwards. I'll come back to post when the time comes, it'll depend what time I'm done eating dinner.

Jorge, I can record Skype on my end AND the video feed at the same time if I manage to set my laptop right, so if you want to only record the footage and join us on Skype for the recorded session, that would be brilliant !

I'm still exploring the possibilities for me to capture in wide screen though, using my capture device. I don't want to have to capture in 4:3 footage that's in 16:9 on my TV, then re-encode into 16:9 by stretching the compressed image, and then edit the whole thing and re-encode again, because successive reencoding gives a crappy image :/.

Ideally recording night would be tomorrow for me, so that I may get the opportunity of using tonight's session as a TEST, to see how things go with the settings I'm planning on using (wouldn't want to find out problems I didn't foresee when the great time comes at last )

We could actually try a multi-cam test? That would be insane to get right lol - I can capture in 16:9 and would be happy to try and stretch your HD footage?

Once we get the sync right between yours and mine, that would be quite interesting actually - switching views whilst maintaining the one soundtrack (though that might look a bit odd come to think of it)! That said, could you record the skype on a separate track?

Should be around tonight, poss a bit later, will keep you updated

Shame that's the only "one" you'll be seeing. In other words, you won't be coming 1st.

Awesome! I'm also getting MK8 straight away so we'll all have to play some matches on that as well when it comes out.

Another idea might to be incorporate the two view in one video at teh same time, like you did with the "gamepad cam" in some of your videos, just with two different views of MK though

Pretty sure just about all of us here are going to get Mario Kart 8, it's just Az that might need a little... convincing.
