I posted this on a facebook page, but this is where I currently stand with the '8 Gen War'
If you look at the range of first party exclusive AAA games this gen between the two companies then Sony has wiped the floor overall - there comes a point where I really don't want another Halo, Fable, Crackdown, Forza, Gears etc, their offerings are pretty slim on that front. Sony have had infamous, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Ratchett, Jak, Last of Us, God of War, Journey, Killzone, resistance, Metal Gear, P4 Arena, 3D dot game, Yakuza, valkaria to name a few. Don't even get me started on Nintendo Exclusives. I'm hoping that the trend will continue this gen. As primarily a PC gamer I not look at the amount of exclusives, but the breadth of genres they cover. I had a 360 this generation and was pretty disapointed and I'm currently still on the fence about picking up a PS3 cheap to catch up on missed titles. The Wii was fine but fizzled out towards the end.
Time will tell of course, but if they keep pumping out fantastic new IP's like they have been doing, then it should go to Sony.
Based purely on the conference, then Sony also - but I can't help but feel that they gave us exactly what they wanted us to hear. But of course, there's obviously nothing wrong with that, and if they continue to listen to the community, it should be a good gen.
