Now confirmed by Sakaguchi-san:

Great news! But I personally don't play (J)RPGs...
This is awesome as the game looks really good. I have a hankering for a good old fashioned JRPG and the Last Story looks like Wii's best (not that Xenoblade or that new Nintendo RPG look bad).
This will only make me happy if a USA release is close behind.
Vorash Kadan said:Just like I've said with Xenoblade before, Nintendo would be totally mad if they make the effort to translate two huge RPGs into 5 languages for Europe and not release them in the US as well. Usually it's the other way around due to Europe needing more than just English. That's also often the reason why we have to wait longer for some games to come out.

Just wait patiently for E3 where we'll probably get an official confirmation/unveil for both The Last Story and Xenoblade for the US since E3 is being held there after all.
They translated Another Code R, Last Window and Disaster Day of Crisis for Europe, but they are still nowhere to be seen in the US. This might become a trend in the future, that Europe gets games that the USA don't get.
The USA might start to feel just like we did during all those years of not getting games which could have done well in Europe just with the English language (namely Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and so many other RPGs...)
That being said, I can see Xenoblade being a European exclusive (Reggie doesn't seem to like Monolith Soft too much if what he said about Disaster still holds true today... dunno why he said that) but I think Last Story will definitely be coming to the US as well.
