Resident Evil 4 Wii Surpasses GameCube Version Sales

It is by far the best way to control 3rd person games. It could do with tweaking: run and shoot for certain games. Maybe a bound box so that you can use the IR controls to look around. Motion plus to remove waggle for melee combat.

I struggled to play a game like gears of war because my right thumb doesnt have the same precise control as my left. You need to learn that stuff when your young. I learnt from using the N64 pad but picked up a dual analogue pad too late.

In any case its ten times faster to point and click. You can have more enemies that are faster on screen.

Resident Evil 4 is the most whored out resident evil since the first one, thats mark of quality.

With these n8mbers, it's really weird that there still is no next resi game with similar control and setup method on wii. What are capcom doing? Have they fired everyone?

erv, Crapcom are a bunch of lazy, lying arseholes. They want easy money, that is why they will continue making rail shooters for Wii. Well anyway, RE 5 is horrible, and proves that they cannot deliver, so I am not as pissed as I used to be about the whole situation. RE PSP is still bugging me, hope it is going to flop hard, which it perhaps will.

Why did they sell RE4 for full price here in Europe??

I guess they got away with it, because the sale ration between America and Europe is the same as other RE4 games.

Got my copy when it came out, I play it now and then but gets boring after awhile.

If some of you would stop buying the on rail cheap production crap and not even consider the archives remake which has had nothing added to it. They may just consider pumping more cash into getting a proper RE game onto wii.

RE4 was good, But I really don't like the static-ness when Shooting, I would prefer to run and gun and it works so much better on the Wii as it's easier to control. The controls nead tweaking, and TBH I reckon alomost every game should have the customiseability of the conduits control system so you can edit absoluntly everything, becuase a control system for one person might not work for another as well as sensitivity etc etc.

Umbrella Chronicles is actually a well made game and I'm glad to have bought it.

RE4 was one of the first titles I bought for Wii, and I would venture to say the control scheme is damn near perfect. Why they haven't bothered making a new (ORIGINAL) game on this engine is beyond me.

I bought RE4 Wii and got RE4 GC. I don\'t like RE very much, but RE4 on Wii was far better to control then on Cube. I think it is the best way of controlling this game (and Cube-pad already was a far greater way to control games then PS2-pad. My opinion only!).
This game is ver, very good. I am glad it did so well on Nintendo platforms. Unfortunately they don\'t learn from it and just make easy RE for Nintendo platforms. They should continue their RE5-crap for the biggies and make great RE with a lot of quality for Wii. I think RE4 got it all. Only a bit too few polygons. But that can be fixed.
Character was mature and had more then your typical Gears-of-war-attitude, he was believable not to say much inplay. The surroundings where believable, more then Africa... The foes where great, amount of zombies were done right... A great game!

That's because THEY AREN'T MAKING ANYMORE COPIES FOR THE GC! DUUUUUHHHHHH!

This is also, of course, a good counter argument to the normal;
"hardcore games dont sale" or "the less traditional gamers on the wii" bollocks.

Both blatantly false statements.
You could say the -percentage- of traditional gamers are lower. But absolute number relative to gamecube? No.

I think this possibly showed there were more willing veterans to try the wii in its first year. We wont know for sure but perhaps if that game launched now it wouldnt sell as well. The response from third parties to put out more conventional games in yr one was a bit lame.

Could have had more amazing games like RE4 using mostly IR input which in its own right is quite a big step forward gaming wise. It has been far more succesful in translation then motion so far.
