Good on Sega for recognizing most Wii games have been poor (hobo-standard) pieces of casual tripe. They certainly have an opportunity here to capitalize on the forgotten market. Smilie

Though Sega haven't been my favourite developers for quite awhile...

You have got to be kidding me lol. Are these your words or his via the company line crap?

My words - it doesn't look half bad. Not in the same league as 360/PC shooters, but still looks very nice on the eye/Wii, especially compared to *shudder* Quantum of Solace Wii and other abysmal efforts.

What's so wrong about it? I thought they worked pretty well on it. Fair enough it might be a little generic, but looks damn good for a Wii game.

Whatever can be said about them development-wise, Sega have proved to be a pretty dab-hand at publishing in recent months, especially for Wii owners. I'm sure they'll do fine. I fully expect MadWorld to outsell any previous Clover title.

Conduit is a must have from me.

And it does look gorgeous for a Wii game.

Its faults lie from lack of expirence from what I seen.
Compare the early screens to the newest ones theres been a MASSIVE improvement.

It wasnt technicaly barriers holding them back, it was more artwork. They have got better, and they will get better too. This is a company learning, they are putting the effort in and improving themselfs.

I hope Conduit is a success, because its sequal will be utterly superb Smilie

Aye, this seems to be their first attempt at a fully fledged shooter - and their first attempt at using the Wii controls. It does look brill, a little lacking in atmosphere/contrast, but still a great looking Wii game.

Same goes for Madworld and HoTD, even Sonic too.

I've felt very let down by Sega in recent years and can't think of a must have title (for me) since Dreamcast days. I hope Mad World and The Conduit are good, but I'm not holding my breath.

The Sonic Rush games were ok, but not great (In my opinion). I have the misfortune of owning Nights - Journey of Dreams (are those N64 graphics?) too. I've been burned too many times by Sega. So they've got a lot of work to do to win me back over.

forget sega. all their proper games go or will be going to the 360 or ps3.

wheres virtual tennis (superstar tennis doesent count)
wheres shenmue, jetset radio, sega rally to name but a few. i'll tell you where they are, their either on the ps3 or xbox or will be going to the ps3 or xbox

ok they have developed madworld for the wii and house of the dead over kill, but if madworld does well i can see them creating a version for the other two consoles that would be packed with better features and if HOTDOK does well the other consoles will get the proper sequal, house of the dead 4 with online nodoubt.

so forget sega. imo they are taking the p***

oh and graphically the conduit looks poo. reminds me of perfect dark on the n64 with expansion pack

Waitwhat? SEGA are PUBLISHING MadWorld, not making it.

Also, SEGA\'s biggest IPs have been on Wii so far, even if they weren\'t great.

- The first good 3D Sonic of the gen
- Monkey Ball
- NiGHTS
- Samba de Amigo
- Mario & Sonic
- Arguably the best version of SEGA SuperStars (except online)

Sure they\'re all party games but they\'re big titles, and the major failures were from Sonic Team, what did you expect? We\'ve also got PS0 on DS which looks amazing (despite being Sonic Team)

On the other hand, what big titles are there on PS360 from SEGA? Golden Axe failed, PSU failed, Sonic 2006 failed, sure Virtua Fighter may have been good but that\'s one game.

If you ask me, SEGA is being no nicer to the PS360 then to the Wii, other than Valkyria Chronicles on PS3, which is mostly promising rather than something to be jealous about, as it shows SEGA still packs quite a punch.

Shenmue3 hasnt been announced for any platform, your listen to rumours if you have heard overwise. Jetset Radio isnt coming to the 360 or PS3 either...where are you getting this stuff?

And no, the PS360 is not getting Saga\'s good games...their really hasnt been any great games on anything.

\"I\'ve felt very let down by Sega in recent years and can\'t think of a must have title (for me) since Dreamcast days.\"

Super Monkey Ball(1) and FZero GX surely?

\"oh and graphically the conduit looks poo. reminds me of perfect dark on the n64 with expansion pack\"

Have your eyes checked.
This is what perfect dark looked like;

(actualy, a lot lower res...someones got that in an emu)

Purhapes you meant Perfect Dark ZERO:

Which probably is pretty close to conduit level.

i know shenmue hasent been announced for any console but when it is it wont b for wii. my point is all their adult orientated games will appear on the ps360 and all their kiddie(or famliy) games come to wii. imo that puts them in the same bracket as other major developers

just look at superlinks list. case and point

Your point being that SEGA has made BETTER games for Wii than it has for PS360?

Come on, please don't tell me you think mature = better. Smilie

Twitter | C3 Writer/Moderator | Backloggery

i never said anything about mature= better
sega has not made any good games for any console except m+s at the olympics. imo segas better franchise\' dont come to nintendo consoles.

i believe sega have lost their identity and have become the lame nintendo. they see what nintendo have acheived success with and try to emulate it. but it never works

So your original point was "SEGA don't care about the Wii", after being proved wrong you say "SEGA doesn't care about anyone".

Make your mind up already. SEGA have released a good amount of good-great games on Wii, with more in the pipelines.

SEGA has ALWAYS been a sort of Nintendo counterpart, which is where their "kiddy" IPs come from also, therefore their kiddy IPs are perfect for the Wii.

Which of SEGA's better franchises hasn't come to a Nintendo console? I can't think of a single one that either hasn't been "revived" yet, or that hasn't been revived in a kinda fail way (Golden Axe).

Twitter | C3 Writer/Moderator | Backloggery

1. my original point was not that sega dont care about the wii. it was that they are half hearted when it comes to bringing their franchise\' to wii
2. wheres virtual fighter, sega rally, virtua tennis, pso, outrun, powerstone, crazy taxi. hell even a new ecco would be welcomed. not to mention golden axe would be much more suited to the wii

oh and darkflame i said reminds me of, not looks exactly the same, in the sense that the lighting seems to be the main graphical attribute

( Edited 19.01.2009 17:50 by MiiWiiKing )

I thought shenmue 3 would never come out since the Yakuza franchise is sorta the spiritual successor to it.

Anyway, it's good the see a developer/publisher that actually wants to make and publish good/"hardcore" games on the Wii, they've noticed that there's a market on the Wii which is "hardcore" and are trying to capitalise on it. With a decent advertising scheme, and the hope that these games turn out good, these games should all sell well, and hopefully over a million worldwide atleast.

MiiWiiKing said:

I disagree. Samba and NiGHTS' revivals on Wii, though not amazing, have been more welcomed than Golden Axe's HD revival by far.

2. wheres virtual fighter, sega rally, virtua tennis, pso, outrun, powerstone, crazy taxi. hell even a new ecco would be welcomed. not to mention golden axe would be much more suited to the wii

So the Wii is missing Virtua Fighter. PS360 are missing Samba, NiGHTS and MonkeyBall. Virtua Tennis is nothing special, the Wii has it's own tennis games that make up for it. PS0 is on DS which means I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wii PS at all.

Just saying, the SEGA's treatment of Wii has been overall very good, and probably on par with their treatment of the HD consoles.

Twitter | C3 Writer/Moderator | Backloggery

ive owned 12 Wii games...and not one of them is developed by any other developers than Nintendo and SEGA (other than their 2nd party devlopers)

Ive got around 15 360 games and only 2 of them are developed by SEGA....granted there are one or two games that i wouldnt mind having, still though.

I have posted here a few times about why I think it looks lame.

http://www.cubed3.com/topic/32151/2/

They have worked very hard on it, and it's certainly commendable, as say in one of these posts. IMO it has been a waste of time.

Monster Hunter Tri looks damn good for a Wii game, certainly not this.

Virtua Tennis is nothing special, the Wii has it's own tennis games that make up for it.

What Wii Sports and SEGA Superstars? LOL Smilie
Virtua is better.

All Sega has on Wii thats worth owning is Monkey Ball (I don't count Mario and Sonic because SEGA were basically forced to make a good game by Nintendo)

Also, SEGA's biggest IPs have been on Wii so far, even if they weren't great.

lol SL. lol. Biggest doesn't mean best, (especially with SEGA) you have played the latest Sonic games ya?
All of SEGA's newest and most interesting IP's have gone to 360/PS3, we are getting the shitty old kiddy IP's which is the total opposite to what this topic is about. Conduit and Madworld are being handed to SEGA on a silver platter they can't take any credit for them.

Virtua is better.

And eventually Mario Tennis. Virtua is just as rehash as Mario Tennis anyway.

MKWiiKing wanted biggest, so I told him biggest.

I think The Conduit is looking gorgeous. Sure it's generic but everything I've seen on it so far has impressed me. The level of customization, the enemy animations and the overall look is very impressive.

Just for putting effort into a Wii game is enough for me to support them. Will be up there with the best looking Wii games.Smilie

I really hope both The Conduit and Madworld sell. Smilie

need a better art time like MP3 but it looking nice they doing alot of nice thing with gameplay

madworld is a must XD

And eventually Mario Tennis. Virtua is just as rehash as Mario Tennis anyway.

A last gen Mario Tennis game. Thats more rehash than any Virtua game.

So what new and interesting IPs are on PS360 anyway? Other than Valkyria Chronicles?

Let me rephrase:

Valkyria Chronicles SEGA\'s newest and most interesting IP has gone to PS3.
