The Wrestler - 7/10.

It's a good film, I'm not quite sure why I didn't like it more, I just didn't. Mickey Rourke's face is absolutely disgusting in this film. Looks like a burn victim.

District 9 - 7/10

Good film. Felt very polished and well put together -- like most films Jackson has anything to do with. The story was presented in such a way that made the occurrence feel surprisingly possible. None the less, while it was handled and executed very well, the story itself was at times slow and somehow uninteresting, and considering that the film was based almost entirely in District 9, there wasn't a whole lot of cinematographic variety. Good film, but not fantastic. I'd very much recommend renting it if your interested, or going to the theater if you're way into sci-fi.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut

Got my PS3 slim today, and this was one of two Blu-rays I got with it. I\'ve never seen this cut, before. I\'ve seen the Theatrical and Director\'s Cut (have the latter on DVD), and love the film to bits, always have. Anyway, it\'s been a year or so since I last watched it, and from what I could recall, it\'s by and large the same film.

I did notice a few changes and added bits. There\'s more gory death scenes, and the unicorn bit was definitely pretty different. Also, have they gone and faffed about with the colours and stuff in this? I don\'t remember the colours being that lurid. Maybe it\'s just the high-definition? I think they might have digitally-enhanced this version.

I mean, it looked fucking amazing, and it\'s pretty much the same film. I know purists might cringe, but I can\'t say any of the changes that I noticed annoyed me, except maybe the colours (if they have gone all \'digitally-remastered\' on this release).

What can I say? It\'s Blade Runner - 10/10.

Inglorious Basterds - 8/10

One of the best films of the year, easily. Great characters that present a truly enjoyable and entertaining story. And the kicker is the ending! Finally someone has done something new with the World War II movie mold. If extreme violence isn\'t your thing (and it can be extreme at times) then you might not like it, but otherwise its nothing but a good film with only a few low points.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - 9/10

I was very disappointed with Order of the Phoenix as it felt unfinished and rushed. The HBP however was miles better and now my second favourite HP film following Goblet of Fire.

I watched Lions for Lambs on DVD the other night. Glad it wasn't my DVD because it was shit. 2/10

It's another one of those films that just ends all of a sudden when you don't expect it to. Didn't even feel like a film, just felt like a few different debates squished together.

Woooooooo!!!

I am Ledgend predictible but amusing 6/10

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story - 0/10

A complete bastardization of the story of a legend. This film was so bad for the simple fact that it was too American. The story was altered to make Bruce Lee and American hero and barely reflects on his Chinese heritage. As is typical with American produce there's an added cheesy romance side plot. The action was terrible. It was in the style of a Jackie Chan film not a Bruce Lee one. And it was terribly directed. The fights were so slow paced and poorly edited to suit the American audience (the same reason Enter The Dragon isn't popular in Hong Kong). Its more exploitative than any Bruceploitation film. The only positive aspect of this film is that I think Jason Scott Lee plays a good Bruce Lee.

Its also ironic that this film tries to portray how racist towards Asians Hollywood was yet it has a racially stereotyped Black character.

The final destination 3D

3/10 standard stuff, 3D was rubbish. Good if you haven't watched any of the others. Too short.

Dead Snow

A film with Nazi Zombies sounds like it's just going to be ridiculously awesome...but it's not. Also, the Zombies looked odd

The Final Destination 3D - 2/10

I\'m a big fan of the the 1st and 3rd Final Destination movies. The 2nd one wasn\'t that great but was still fun to watch. This one is a complete waste of time.

The script is poorly written and the 3D is used mainly for objects flying out at you which gets boring after the first 1000 times.

Death, which was a great \'villian\' in the previous films, seems to have been turned into an excuse to be as gory as possible. Before, Death would do subtle little \'possible\' things that would cause the deaths but this time, death seems to be swinging wild as he does things like unscrewing a bolt on a fence and pushing a can of coke into some hair straighteners. Things like that completely ruin the tension.

The big death scene (racetrack crash) at the start was crap and fails miserably compared to the plane, pileup and rollercoaster scenes from the previous films.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut 10/10

Watched it with my friend (the same one I brought the polo shirt for) she enjoyed it.

District 9

Didn't get caught up in the hype which certainly helped, it was very entertaining, but I guess I'm a little dissapointed with the direction it took. Didn't like how it focused on the main (human) charecter more and more, there was nothing wrong with it - I just thought it was going to become more epicly proportioned as things progressed. Anyone who did buy into the hype will probably be dissapointed. Smilie

2001: A Space Odyssey

Got this on Blu-ray on Wednesday. I had only seen it once before and didn't personally own a copy of it on any format, so I thought it was a good purchase. I wasn't wrong.

Don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, so I'll leave it there. I cried at the ending. I'm not sure why, as it's not a sad ending. It's just such fucking powerful cinema. I was really struck by it.

Jupiter And Beyond The Infinite is mesmerizing in 1080p. Anyway, terms like "the greatest ever X ever made" get bandied about far too often for stuff that really isn't worthy (I'm as guilty as anyone else for this), but you could really honestly say that 2001: A Space Odyssey is arguably the best film ever made.

10/10, no question.

How could you give Terminator 9/10? There was nothing wrong in that film that could not have 10/10.

Zombieland - 8/10

Fun movie. I was drug there by a friend to see it, and ended up loving it. It won't win you over with a great story -- its simply about killing zombies really. What makes the movie great is how much fun the film is, and that the performances of the four main characters are perfectly fitting. They never seem to take themselves too seriously, but all the same they still manage to successfully convey enough fear to remind the audience that zombieland is still a scary place. Its a funny horror film that's well worth a brisk hour and twenty minutes on a weekend afternoon.

Oh, and midway through there is a cameo that is as surprising as it is hilarious. I won't spoil it though, and I challenge you not to google it before you see it!
