HI all!
How are you? I`m new to the C3 forums but I`m addicted to the site main page news since a few months ago... I check back everyday just to see what`s new around the Nintendo world.
Well, so here`s my doubt... I already have mario galaxy and I`ve finished it with all the possible stars and extras you can imagine lol... in the end, it just sounded way too easy. Playing sonic 3 on wii ware give me more challenges than galaxy did. really. but I assume it`s a great game, very fun to play! just not challenging.
On the way home, there`s a Brawl coming (of COUUUUURSE!!!) and, when it launches, I`ll be sure to buy mario kart.
As you can see, I`m here mostly for the 1st party games. I love the nintendo creativity for making games.
Anyways, when Brawl arrives at my house, I think I still will need something else to keep me busy, since Galaxy is over!
The question is... should I buy MP3? I ask this bcaz I haven`t played the 2 first of the series and I`m just afraid I might not understand a thing about what`s going on, since I don`t know anything about the storyline...
Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks!

Yes, absolutely .
You don't really need to know the story for the prime games to enjoy them but I'd recommend getting Prime 1 and 2 anyway, should be cheap and are both excellent.

You probably should, as most people seem to bum it.

Its very good, much overlooked somehow. Its like an improvement of the original metroid prime in like nearly every single way, a lot of tedium was reduced. Um the graphics could've been slightly better, but the art direction was very nice at least.

It's much better than MP2. Don't get it if you don't like repetetive games that aren't fun all the way through.

Maybe that's just me. Smilie My gaming brain doesn't allow me to enjoy a game that I can't complete all the way through in one sitting without getting bored.

GET IT thats all i have to say, dont forget abnout the flawless fps controls either. ;]

Yes the controls are almost like using a mouse and keyboard, except a lot more fun. And the gestures actually work and are good. I just wish they had a melee attack that you could use always (grapple beam only on certain enemies).

Yes I say get the game, I bought it and haven't regretted it, even though I have finished it (not 100% mind you). It controls perfectly, and is very easy to just pick up and play, minus a quicksave feature. Just for the love of god, dont forget your objectives then forget you have a logbook, it sucks being forgetfulSmilie

I'd say get it. It's a great game and the controls work pretty much flawlessly. Also, if you do get it, set the control sensitivity to Advanced, that's the best way to play it IMO.

I have mixed feelings on it, I still haven't even completed it. It definitely doesn't feel as good as MP1 or 2, but overall it's probably better than MP2. MP1 shits all over it though. My biggest problem is the shitty items.

It fixed the \"getting a bit lost and not knowing were to go\", which brought the experiance down for me in the first 2.
Also added a bit of action which was nice or maby it was just he controles that made it feel like that but it was nice anyway.
Only thing I didn\'t like was the bosses in Prime 3, they were a bit boring compared to the ones in the original, they wern\'t as varied.

Yes.

Let me elaborate:

Yes.

There are hardcore Metroid/Metroid Prime fans who are cynical about it, but I personally loved it as much as Super Mario Galaxy.

That\'s all I can say, though reading reviews on various websites may help (videos generally don\'t, except that they look damn cool, since they are too short and Metroid is a game where you generally don\'t make any noticeable progress for about an hour of play).

get metroid 1 and 2 first (as imo it is better value for money because you could probally get both of them for under the price of metriod 3). metriod 1 is one of the best fps imo (cool weapons and the game last a long time especially if you want to beat it on all difficulties, over all it would be excellent value for money). metriod 2 i think is good (not as good as prime 1 but definately better than prime 3) good value for money and last a long time. While metriod 3 is too short, too linear and the bad ending. (not like it would bother you as much as the metroid vetrans) wait for a price drop in prime 3 buy prime 1 and 2 now you wont be disappointed (2 of the best gamecube games out there and will offer you a challenge)

YES....YESS...YESS..U Should !!!

I love it...sorry if I sounded fanboyish...

..Simple and Clean..

OMG GET IT it is one of the best Wii games I have, despite the fact that it's only 1 player and there's no online feature. Regardless, it's awesome it's got a great storyline, great mucsic, awesome weapons, SAMUS(Smilie) and some very funny moments. Well worth your money.

Last weekend I put in MP3 again and played it for 15 minutes. Once you've beat it, the world is so dead and boring.
But it's great while it lasts, and I know I'll play it again.

It took me about a week to finish, and what a week that was! Smilie
The extra awesome thing about MP3 is that it gives you an incentive to finish it on all dificulties by offering unlockables that can only be unlocked by completing the game in 2 or 3 difficulty modes. So no matter how many times you clock it on easy, Veteran and Hypermode will both give you extras that are both useful and entertaining.

Hm, I never played it on easy (called normal), I started with Veteran. Do you get anything for beating normal that you don't get for Veteran?

I'm a bit afraid of Hypermode. I started MP1 on the Hard setting, but it was a bit too much for me.

After playing and actually enjoying MP1 (Smilie), I'm strongly considering picking up 3 now. Good old eBay.Smilie

I think so, not only does it give you more points and those wierd disk things that can strangely be used as currency, but alsoi think the endings are different on 75% and 100% completion rates (correct me if i'm wrong).

BTW, hyper mode is basically Veteran, except that all the enemies have higher health, and better weapons, and move faster and are generally much stronger....
