Sounds like some people are misunderstanding the concept of 'updating a website'.

im not going on the website until friday .they might suprise me with some info i dont already know

No its just that people were expecting some news!

Chillax guys.. bloody hell. Masahiro Sakurai (the dude updating the site) said that he would update the website every weekday until the launch of the game.

Therefore we can gather from this that they know exactly when they are going to release the game and can plan their updates accordingly. If it is in a few months, (im guessing a worlwide release in 07 due to the localisation on the site)then we have got plenty of little updates and tidbits of info coming our way just to tease us and keep us interested.

I highly doubt that we are going to get every character revealed. I think that he will show us the remaining starter roster, and any secret characters will be kept just that, a secret. Although that does leave a few more characters to be revealed as the 10 strong line up atm is a little low.

Plus theres tonnes of extra cool info which we are getting for this game (music, items, stages) that we havent got before with any other game. So quit ur bitching at not getting every secret bloody character revealed all in one day and appreciate what is being given to you!

The only new things given are Music and stage every thing else we already knew. Reconfirming Mario and Link was a waste of time since they were in the first two smash bros. People are not upset about not seeing every new character because most of them are worried about that ruining the surprise for them. They expect an update to be something new not something known.

All im saying is that this is all a bonus anyway. Sakurai doesnt have to update the site. It could just be handled like 99% of any other game and have nothing until reviews and its release. This is just a nice way of giving fans something to look at until release.

I know that I would prefer to have all new stuff revealed, but I just dont think its right for people to complain about things they are pretty much getting for free.

Oh and a star to the guy who can name the 'Smashing: Live' reference.

Right because they are going to post every new feature and all the games secrets right before the game is even out.

Yup that will work. I mean, FF XIII, MGS4 and Halo 3 have already posted every bit about them selfs so you do not even have to play the game. Yup, no secrets here!

It's not that I don't understand you Prometheus I totally agree. I just expected maybe a new item or another stage. The people on the site knew smash fans wanted to see something totally new not characters that can be viewed from the trailers. But you can't really complain much since with most games like you said the info is usally not released until final product.

lol yeah right come on sidepocket. Those are very very big names there. Those games have cults behind them that love the franchise. Saying you wouldn't have to play it just because they gave some info on it is crazy. They could give every bit of SSBB and everyone would want it more. I dont care about surprise when it comes to smash for the fact I know its a great game they could of givin me every character, item, stage, etc. and I would still reserve and still play it for years.

Sorry for the misunderstanding there Tangle, I was just a lil miffed at all those complaining above at the lack of new information. Of course Id love there to be something new released but it will come. Like today, they have revealed a new item, as Masterstyl above has shown its a sticky bomb

Yeah, I think Nintendo have been playing too much Halo 3 beta with the sticky nades.

At least it was something new. What's planned for tomorrow though? Possibly another course?

The Gooey Bomb looks very cool, & the game is still looking very sweet... I can see Mario looking back at Wario as he runs away... could it be!? Characters interact with the others automatically?

That could be interesting. I can see Snake's eyes popping out as he see Zero Suit Samus. Ooh the possibilities.

EDIT: Yeah, when I first saw this thread, I thought it was actually about the Album: "Smashing: Live!" But yeah, that can with NOM a few years back. NOM were so good compared to ONM.

EDIT 2: I'm not sure what'll be tomorrow, from how things are going, I'm assuming we'll get a mix of new & old things, tomorrow I think 2 more characters, another item, or another song will be added.... Well to be honest, it could be anything!

Sticky grenades are cool. Loved using the in Halo.

I have noticed that they are having an update for a different category each day and I assume that since "game modes" has yet to have any information, tomorrow's update will be a game mode.

The item does make you think halo. Yet it is still original because you can pass it on with out having to kill yourself since in halo once your stuck theres no getting it off. Imagine using a fast character like fox or meta knight getting stuck then dashing by your opponent sticking them back crazy. and this is only the begining

Now the smash pressure is really getting to me

Oh yeah, probably, it'll prolly be multiplayer won't it? Or maybe some kind of data/options menu, so as not to spoil the spanking new 1 player mode

I hope there is a co-op adventure or online co-op. Single player was fun in melee but imagine having multiplayer on those levels.

Co-Op would be awesome in 1 player, I used hax to make 1 player Co-Op by making it so 2nd player can control computers, so Allies in some battles.

Damn, does anyone else think that fighting online is gonna be a real reality check for those who thought they were good?

Oh yeah im pretty sure there are some smash gods out there, but thats what online is for to see where you are really at in skill.
And about the characters looking at eachother and reacting that does seem to be the case in the screen shots not to mention it looks as if mario looks into the gooey bomb before it explodes.
