If I'm honest, I'm starting to wonder if I spent
I still think the issue is being confused here, I mentioned it in another post but I don't know where so essentially:
The Wii is dull at the moment because of the lack of games, people were expecting the controls to somehow balance the lack of games out and so they're dissapiointed now, controls can't do it on their own.
And yet these threads usualy turn into a criticsm of the controls as being gimmicky and
There is frequentyl a drought post-release. Developers have put all their effort into the launch and are trying to get their next few games together. The Wii will get better games coming out very soon (one can pretty much bet on all the Nintendo staples being released at some point, which alone make the console worthwhile), and then you will cease to regret.
By the way, you really should buy Smooth Moves, if only when the price drops - it's tonnes of fun.
Wii is in the DS "initial shitty" phase at the moment. In time it shall give you
I would say that Excite Truck is worth
I dont think it getting dull it just depends on what you like really!!
But always on the gaming market from Feb - June it dull there arent many good games that come out in this period! And i think developers are sitting on the back seat and just waiting to see what happends witht eh Wii so that might be another factor why there arent many good games coming out!
How d'you know Sonic is crap? Did you play it yet? & I know it's not crap since it's average review score is over 75%, defintiely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but the greatest Sonic game in years (excluding Rush)
I think the thing about Wii, is to try new things. For me I always have a game to get, & I've enjoyed all of them very much. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam was good, but it's my worst Wii game, other than that I've managed to buy at least 1 game per month. It could possibly be that you've set your standards for games a bit too high, but with Wii, unless you try it out, you won't know.
Maybe you're right & that the Wii isn't for you, I think Wii is also a lot better to play when you have online enabled, seeing as there's quite a few things I can do without even playing a game (havn't played a Wii game for a week or two, but that's mostly to blame on the lack of free tie I have anyway).
Seeing as the Wii is a pretty new thing, & most developers are just using it to milk their crap games with PS2 ports, I'd leave it a little while to let some of the real developers like Namco, Capcom or SEGA have more of a go at it, seeing as 360 & PS3 are much the same in terms of the way you play as the 6th gen consoles, it's easy enough to come up with a design concept that doesn't suck. With Wii it's different, especially if you're Ubisoft.
I agree whole heartedly with the first two replies. LS
Get a 360 then buy a Wii when it's cheaper.
{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?
{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat
That's why I don't have a Wii yet. I'm waiting for Christmas.
Well Super Paper Mario comes out next month...Thats about all I really need for now.
The 360 didn't really have any better games at this point last year...
360 first, Wii later for me. Don't write the Wii off too soon though.

yeah you cant sompare the Wii with X360 right now.. coz the x360 has been out over a year and the Wii only a few months....
Excitetruck and Sonic are enough to keep me happy for a while, AND Virtual Console is bringing some great games (RType 3, Mario World, Mario Kart 64 etc)
I won't allow this thread to not say "SSX Blur"
it'll make you stop being such a critic in the "downtime" for the new wave of games and keep ya punk-ass busy for a while. And the game is not aimmed at "ease" - this game has a bad-ass learning curve and its AWESOME when you get the hang of it.
SSX Blur = A display of what the Wii can do for different genres of gaming.
Not much else I can say apart from what F|J|D said, like the DS, the Wii is having it's dry phase. There's the odd 75%'er (Sonic and Excite Truck) and some solid overlooked games (I hope, like the upcoming DragonBall Z).
*Now if I were to ignore the fact that the 360 has been out for over a year, I'd say buy a 360 because of GoW, Crackdown, Oblivion, PGR3, GRAW etc. If if I were to use this fact as a point, then read above.
* Paragraph might not make full sense.

DBZ will be good, it already got good reviews over in the US of Anal sex
I'm definitely buying it, that's for sure

I have DBZ and it is definitely worth the purchase. There is an absurd amount of content in the game.
I can't wait for DBZ either, I should be getting Sonic in the next few days, & it'll remind me of why I love the Wii >.<
Also, Super Paper Mario is very forgettable, & it's the kind of game that you may never get unless it comes out in a dry period, & like CHibi-Robo, it might be a game that you'll never regret getting after you play it for half an hour.
The Wii has been played a lot less in our house, but that's because I keep forgetting to bring back Wii Sports from my mum's. We have Red Steel, Zelda, Wario Ware and Sonic now, and Sonic so far is pretty good - a mixed bag for me, btu something I reckon I'll be at for a long time.
It seems to have good replayability and the ease of being to go back and try something again is great. That's the kind of replayability I'd like to see in the Wii and games in general. For example, in shooters I want to see advanced bot/combat simulators/vs modes - whereby you can almost make your own scenario and play that, giving it a lot more to play with after you've finished the main campaign.
At the moment, perhaps it is a little dull, but I feel it will pick up in the coming months. Developers at the moment are perhaps unsure whether to waste resources on the system. It's new, it's doing something pretty different, so in order to gain from it a lot of third parties have been using existing resources and churning out quite a few ports. This happened with the GameCube, not to as crazy extent, but developers I think felt with lacklustre sales for ports on the GC and a pretty average installed userbase, it would be pointless to do anything for the format.
With the Wii, I think developers are in the consideration phase. Release a few ports to at least gain something from the Wii momentum, and then decide whether to decidate resources towards producing a proper ground-up title. I don't feel it'll bomb like the GC did eventually, primarilly because of its uniqueness in the way you interact, but also due a far better adoption rate in comparision to the GameCube.
Anyway, as for the moment, there isn't too much out there that I feel will be keep me coming back for more, but Wii Sports I feel can be good as I haven't even played it for weeks due to what I previously mentioned, Wario Ware in short but good doses and of course Sonic. The Wii does need a long RPG, and games that'd keep you coming back for more. Wii Connect 24 should be one of the drawing factors to the system - I know I'd definitely keep playing a game that automatically updates as I nap away.
I would stick it out for a while before perhaps selling up or giving up on it - I'd give Sonic another go, it's a decent game if you get into it. It is a shame though with the lack of some of the bigger names in the business, and I hope with all the time Nintendo is taking that the big guns like Prime 3, Galaxy, new Zelda, Brawl and more will make great gaming.

.. I didn't buy the Wii just for a few elite games. There were three games on my wish list at the start of this month, Sonic is crap so I can cross one off. The other two better be good, or maybe I should think about selling on and getting an Xbox 360 - there are loads of games with major content that appeal to me there.
It's a bit difficult to answer you on this as it will come down to your taste is games. You mentioned you got Sonic - said it was OK, then said it was crap - so kinda confused on that one ..
There's a number of games that are imminent - many are also multiplayer - ones I am looking at include :
- SSX Blur (23 March)
- Medal of Honour (should be better than Cod3)
- Trauma Centre
- Eledees
- Heatseeker (hopefully will be on-line too)
- Mercury Meltdown
The games are coming ...
I think you just made the schoolboy error of getting it at launch, mate. All consoles are shit when they come out. Look at the 360, it's only just starting to get good, and it's a year and a half old.
Should've waited at least a year for your Wii, like yours truly
I think that the Wii is pretty awesome. I don't know why, but it impresses me.
Of course it's impressive, but.. you know... there's no games!
