Sounds like fantastic fun, the only ever thing i have dine close to that sort of thing is absailing a 240 ft drop in Wales some years ago Smilie, back on topic Smilie-

If there are hilly and variable landscapes in the new game it would be great at this time of year because you could go Skiiing and snowboarding, most likely sleigh riding in the snow, maybe even being able to lob snowballs using the remote to aim, that would be great online. LS

Dont you all hate how the people in shops follow you and get in the way.
Solution: Shop workers stay behind the counter or bigger shops.
I hate it when Timmy and Tommy corner me when I'm looking at the wallpaper in the top left corner.
Also, Getting fossils checked takes ages, there should be a drag and drop system like what there is when selling.

Smilie Just like in real-life ..

I like the idea of drag and drop. The GC AC was a real pain when you had to actually post your fossils - at least Blathers takes a gander at them in the DS version there and then .. but I agree it could be improved .. Smilie

I bloody agree whole heartedly, the game needs to be speeded up if you choose to by holding the button down in areas. LS

I'd like to be able to set up my own stall. Only in a small way at first - perhaps a few apples on a cart, or some flowers. Then slowly-but-surely I'd grow, expanding my cart to a fully-fledged store rivalling Tom Nook. Ultimately I'd control a huge empire with multiple stores and employees that puts Nook out of business. Then I'd benevolently employ the poor bastard as a checkout boy, but make him wear a humiliating outfit. That'll learn him, the penny-pinching bastard.

Okay, forget the all-consuming Capitalism and Nook in a pink tutu - I'd just enjoy being a Florist.

Less posty, more gamey.

Haha, I'd love to see that.

Winter sports or sports for that matter

Better visuals, I would especially love to see some nice flowing grass covering the red setting sun. With nice graphics, especially lighting effects, you can really grow attached to your hometown.

Yeah and if it was windy the grass, tree's leaves and flag would flap away.
Instead of just K.K Slider there could be a whole band called "The K.K sliders" or something.

Lol that's one of the best ideas i have heard Smilie, giving Nook the Crook some competition is just what is needed, and it also fits into my idea of having a market place. LS

Now what about DS connectivity, what would you all like to see there ?, it could come via two possible ways- 1: a dedicated channel as i have proposed, and 2: the actual game itself.

The DS touch interface could be utilized better for doing some things that the remote could not do as well, like knitting stiches when Sable is sick perhaps, i can think of a few uses.

I haven't had time to read this topic fully yet (just skimmed through it for now) so I might be repeting some ideas.

I'd like to see:

-Full use of WiiConnect24 - would it possible to have it so a friend can visit your town while you weren't there? So you would be able to go into a friend's Wii, while it was 'off' (ie on WiiConnect24), download his/her town data, and then save it back to your friend's Wii when you were finished, so you essentially 'visited' their town without them doing anything. Obviously you would've exchanged friend codes before hand, to keep it completely safe.

-Integration with other Wii features, things like getting messages from your Animal Crossing town on your Wii message board, the ability to play as your Mii in the game (I think thats an obvious one), maybe use of the forcast channel to have 'real' weather in your town, and the ability to play virtual console games in your room in AC.

-Better AI, and most important of all, more player options in conversations. Specifically I want more ability to express my own emotions towards AI characters, for instance if a character annoys you - in the other games you can't really be annoying back (or you can, but the other character won't 'understand') - I think the next step is to have the ability to directly tell AI characters how you 'feel' about them and more ability to have both friends and enemies in Animal Crossing.

-Plenty of downloadable updates from Nintendo, so there are an indeffinate number of items that you can find in the game (as Nintendo can constantly create more throughout the game's lifespan), and other new things which happen every year, reducing repetition and making the lifespan of the game even longer.

I think the AC message board and Wii message board interaction is planned, look closely at this picture of the early messageboard

you can see the AC leaf icon thing on one of the messages.
I reckon that having "real" weather in the game would be bad in some cases, for example what if you were living in a hot country and you wanted to make a snowman in the winter. It would be good if it could be turned on and off though.

I think i made one enemy last week by rolling a huge snowball outside Moes front door, i have not seen him for days, and to make matters worse he was hungry before i snowed him in. LS

Bloody hell!
This is the greatest idea you have ever had!
We need this visiting other peoples town really badly

Lol i think i detect a degree of sarcasm here, i believe beamrider meant visting friends towns while they are not in, but then also that needs to be worked out because if they are not in, where in hell are they lol, i suppose my idea of having a pleasure island resort ( BROCHURE SENT IN MAIL) could come into play.

Alternatively this could happen somehow with prior consent, imagine asking your friends to look after your town and to pay your mortgage while your away from your Wii, but what about the whole theft issue.LS

DS functionality, any ideas?

Image for

A post delete is in order here, methinks...

How about having a small island (wait for it), but with specific features that can't be done on the mainland? Like, say, a secret cove, some island specific fish/arthropods or a 'stop the pirates/smugglers' operation.

Screwing the rules since 1989.

Well i suggested a beach cove and coral garden earlier, i suppose that could support specific fish, i like the idea of such missions though, but i do think it unlikely unless such things could be rerun again and again, as most things are in AC, missions are a good idea but what kind of missions could you carry out on a regular basis.( bee keeping /collecting Honey ?) LS

(thanks i thought i got rid)

this might ruin the game a little but....Violent AC, instead of axes chainsaws, instead of delivering parcles you become a hitman and assasinate targets. all this with wi-fi equals large amounts of funSmilie

Yeah that would be fun, I would love to put a sniper bullet in the back of tom fucking nook's head.

GO Bill!

i would like to post letters to people online. This may be pointless scince the wii has a built in messenger, it is still a nice touch though

Hmm .. Ok here's a couple: One probably obvious .. Smilie

- Ability to continue to play the game "on the move". You download you town/data etc to the DS - continue play and do stuff and then re-synchronize back later and then continue on your Wii.

- We all know the remote isn't great to compose your letter/messages. So, how about using your DS to actually write as you would using pen/paper. This would be similar to the old PalmPilot Graffiti system - your handwriting is then transferred to the Wii and into your message.

- Download the mini-games or unlockable games to your DS to play them remotely.

I kind of see the DS as more of an "offline" tool to be honest - not everyone will have both a Wii and DS so this will be a factor. Any sort of "Design" capability could be done on the DS and uploaded to the Wii game.

For example, how about designing the texture of your house? Stone Cladding anyone? Smilie

A couple of non-DS ideas ..

I would like the HRA to have a bit more of a prominent role in the Wii version. I don't just want to get points for the Fung Shui - I found that a bit boring to be honest.

I would like the HRA to issue "House Maintenance" warnings. As you clock up hours in the game, your house could fall into disrepair and require you to spruce it up a bit. I would like to be able to paint my house using the remote - imagine using it as a roller or a paintbrush .. Smilie

Repairing things like broken fences or guttering could also be done. Also, if you don't do the repairs, you get fined and your neighbours get pissed off with you .. you get blitzed with messages and hints etc etc .. Smilie

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those that understand binary and those that don't ..

Some great ideas barr the first one i reckon, that could never be done with the current technology of both the DS, and the Wii, but 2,3, and 4 are great.

I think that the ideas about the mini games will probally be the most likely scenario with you.. lol think about it, your character sitting in front of a TV with a Wii there and your real Wii downloading the mini games to your DS mimicking the game on the TV, also imagine simple multiplayer games like this also, that would be fantastic having your mates gathering around with their DSs also. LS

Bad news Smilie

It's only a speculation though.

Hi Mij,

I think it's good news .. they obviously saw this thread and decided to incorporate a few of the ideas here .. excellent .. Smilie

Nintendo are obviously balancing the release of their titles through the year - something that they have said a few times now - to minimise the critics who claim that third party titles never stand a chance against first/second party titles ..

Lets see what happens over the next 3 months or so .. I bet a lot of these titles with TBA start to get firm dates and AC has a lot of fans waiting for it .. Smilie

Yeah I suppose It'll be better if they spend lots of time on it but I really want to play it Smilie
At least I have Wild World to play and the AC fishing minigame on Wario Ware Smilie

I actually think Reggie mentioned just this when they announced the WiiConnect24 feature. He said something in the lines of "imagine friends visiting your town in Animal Crossing even when your console is powered down, because the Wii is always connected and looking for updates" etc etc. Sure its not an exact quote or anything but I believe this was in the E3 Keynote when they announced the Wiiconnect24
