I assume you're connecting with a component cable, the only one which will do 480p.
It shouldn't look too bad as long as it's scaled well by the TV, but it's still a bit of a shock to see something running at standard resolution on an HDTV, especialy if it's LCD and even more so if it's 1080p. Every pixel is perfectly defined, but absolutely massive.
Yeah...looks like lego worse still, you should see what the PS2 looks like on the TV, jesus wept when he saw that.

Still thought, kind of proves that the Wii is a GC 1.5, tech-wise.
change the record! you sound like a broken mp3. sick of reading this same comment from you.
Mario Party 8. Not widescreen
Also, it's 'Tiger' not 'Tigar'.

Well it might if it were correct
Marioparty has two stupid tapestry v=bars down each side. Hardly 16:9 is it
Opening screens and options screen is widescreen, woopee
Bump!
I don't think Grumbler has updated this for a long time.
Well bumped, a list i was never aware of. Its really annoying that wii games look worse on my HDTV. Even Zelda which i thought looked great in just standard definition looks absolute dog shite. Its absoulutely annoying that it looks better on a shitter tv...ironically dubbed a shitter TV.
Mario Galaxy looks aight though, but meh, i wanted Zelda to look good
I'm under the impression that hardly any games are coming out without prog scan nowadays. Not any that people who care actually buy at least. If you know of any, feel free to tell me...
Just got Scarface on the cheap yesterday. Has no 480p or 60hz support, but does support widescreen though.

the ps2 looks godawful on my widescreen PC monitor..
Im actually going to find the best, most expensive CRT Television and buy it, so i can play PS2/GC/Wii and actually see whats happening.
Yeah, I just got a Toshiba widescreen CRT thing as a hand-me-down from my sister (who's just bought a gorgeous HD telly), and I must say, my PS2/Xbox/GC (and therefore Wii) stuff has never looked better. Looks better than on her HD telly. Also- it's cool to kick the old N64 in 16:9! There are some N64 games which have proper 16:9 modes! Namely most of Rare's offerings. 16:9 GoldenEye rawks.
I find it a shame that Nintendo doesn't enforce 60Hz, 480p, and 16:9 on Wii developers though. They're constantly on the back-foot trying to say that Wii isn't 'under-powered' and all that, and then they let simple little visual niceties like this through the net, for no reason whatsoever. There really is no excuse for lacking any of them, these days. Even PS2 games seem to be on a par with Wii, as far as how many of them are offering these modes.
So forgive the average consumer for thinking Wii = PS2 with funny controls.

Umbrella Chronicles seems to be only widescreen. Unless there's some hidden 4:3 setting somewhere.
I got an HD lately and some component cables for my Wii. I can notice some more detail and it does look nice, but it's very jaggey :-/
Widescreen is great though, yeah, Rare were always good for Widescreen, I find it hard to remember Widescreen games on GC, the one that pops into my mind right away is Starfox Adventures.
Which was made by Rare.
"mario party 8" doesn't support pal 60 or progressive scan either
Serves you right for buying Mario Party 8 lol
Well I still have an old 32 inch 4:3 CRT screen (that i use for my Wii) - No jaggies or need for extra cables
Superiority by obsoleteness - (Its like having windows 98 all over again - it was better than XP at handling viruses seeing as the viruses were all designed for XP)
found a game that dosent support 16:9 ratio. and this pisses me off its: BLEACH:THE SHATTERED BLADE
strangely it supports EDTV
Please someone sticky this thread.
I just became aware that my VC games don't work with my compenent cable How annoying!
Well apart from Sin and Punishment, but still...
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 doesn't have any of those things...
50Hz/non widescreen only
Lameness.
So, do you guys want it stickied? Good idea?
