I am quite impressed with MP3 thus far, it was the graphics which were my only gripe at E3. But I knew from the get-go that it would look crap (well not crap, just not significantly improved). The graphical jump which we saw with Red Steel, from going from n64 quality to Wii's most beautiful title, we will see this with MP3 I think. Except, MP3 looked very good still before its grapical overhaul. I am expecting good things from Retro. I just hope they keep the story consistently engaging. One of my gripes of Echoes was that the story was really gripping at first, but started dissappear after the beggining.

I'm getting Zelda and Red Steel... If Far Cry has online multiplayer of any form, I will buy it.

Metroid Prime 3 already counting the days the first two were epic

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

MP3 looks alright, more like the first game, it has MetaRidley back, & so hopefully Meta Kraid & Meta MotherBrain too. As it was said in the story of the first game, the Space Pirates were rebuilding them.

I also quite like the look of the new grapple, & how it works. Also it seems there are more NPC people to talk to, the only thing it lacks now it Samus' emotions, which I hope they could put in.

I also want proper Metroids, space pirates, & bosses, not all these dark guardians & dark versions of normal enemies crap.

Tell me what makes MP2E's story so interesting? The only interesting part at all for me is that the Metroid Prime changed into Dark Samus, that's also basically the only thing linking it with other Metroid games ('cept Phazon) Also, why else would the game be called Metroid Prime? Because throughout the series it seems as if the main antagonist is infact none other than the Metroid Prime. Dark Samus sees a return in MP3 as well. So if we have Metroid Prime + Ridley & hopefully Kraid & Mother Brain in beautiful 3D, that'd make one packed Metroid game.

Tell me what makes MP2E's story so interesting?

Are you mad boy? I just love scanning all the dead bodies (pirates/troopers/Luminoths) and uncovering how they died in intricate detail or seeing if they had anything left to say before they died. I really like how in metroid prime you have to uncover the story yourself by investigating things. You want interesting? How about the story behind the meteor crashing on Aether which warped its many lands (turning the fertile agon lands into a desert) or learning about the struggle of the Luminoth throughout their war and how they developed new ways to combat their enemy.
I would agree with you that metroid prime 2 doesnt fit into the metroid saga but I would also say the same about Prime 1, the Prime series is more of a side story (other metroid games such as fusion can be referred to as metroid 4) based on the development of space pirate research and phazon.

-Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
-What?

I'm not mad, & scanning dead bodies was *sortof* interesting, but he meteor crashing & the Luminoth's struggle, it just sounds exactly like the MP1 story....

& MP1 at least focuses more on Metroid Space Pirates, & has Ridley in it, that links it to other Metrid games more than MP2E, in MP2 the Metroids served little purpose in the game, just little enemies....

I don't understand how Ubi'll be able to add online to Far Cry if its coming out in a week for the US launch. I mean, fair enough if they delay it, but surely it takes longer than a week to sort out stuff like that?

Haven't played the first Prime, but the second has to rank as one of the most intelligent, mature (in the real sense, not the omg there's blood and sex sense) games ever. The pace is slow, thoughtful and requires patience; the story is picked up through player action, not rammed down your throat in poorly acted cut scenes and the difficulty is fairly high.

I think I may benefit from not having played other Metroid games. The story was very, very good. The Luminoth and Ing were very well crafted creatures. The world was fantastically realised (though the dark world was very samey). It didn't matter at all to me that there were no Chozo or that Metroids and Space Pirates were secondary to the Luminoth vs. Ing struggle. To me that added a deeper layer to the narrative.

I've been a huge gamer since the early 80's as well as a huge Metroid fan since the first one on the good 'ol NES, and let me tell you that Metroid Prime & Metroid Prime 2: Echoes are two of the best games ever developed. Both are masterfully and intelligently crafted with such an incredible level of detail and immersiveness that has never been done before. I LOVED both of them and I thought Dark Aether from Echoes was VERY well done. Dark, brooding, ominous and it allowed a level of puzzle solving and exploration that was absolutley stellar. I really, really enjoyed Prime 2 and I'd even go as far as to say that it topped the unprecedented first Metroid Prime in every possible way. The gameplay for both games were amazing and the fun factor was through the roof. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is definately looking like it's going to top both Prime 1 & 2 on a grand scale. I can't wait!Smilie

As far as the story goes for both Prime 1 & 2, Dr_R is absolutely right. The story is not so obvious and it isn't presented to you in a manner you can't miss like just about every other game. You have to do your part to find out what has happened and what is transpiring. That is part of the charm of the Prime series, it has a lot of mystery and takes investigation to find clues as to what's going on and what needs to be done. Actually, this is true for all Metroid games, but never before on the level of the Prime series. From my experience, people who have said the story was weak and boring skipped a lot of the content or tried to rush through them. It's a real shame. Both Prime & Prime 2: Echoes are probably two of the most underated games ever produced. But, everyone is entitle to their own opinion, though.Smilie

As for Prime: Hunters... I actually really enjoyed the single player campaign. I thought it was very well done. Not at the level of it's GC counterparts, but still very, very enjoyable. The multiplayer modes were always intended to be the focus of Hunters and they did a fantastic jpb with it, but still, the single player experience was a blast, IMO.

Chance favors the prepared mind.
