Nintendo Wii News | Harvest Moon Release & Metroid Upgraded [news]

Good news all round.

I wonder if the Sonic Minigames will simply be puzzles etc with no characters? If not then could that mean we'll see characters like Tails, Knuckles & Amy playable in minigame mania?

Q4 2007 for Harvest Moon? Them I'm guessing the UK release date at Q3 2010.

I'm getting both Far Cry and Red Steel.

Red Steel seems more like my type of FPS though.

I think I'll be getting Red Steel, Wii Play & Monkey Ball. Possibly Downhill Jam, though the DS one has online play, so I guess I'll just read the reviews to decide which one/if I should get it.

Yay for improving Metroid!! Damn right they better spruce it up.

I'm glad it's getting an overhaul, I wasn't too impressed by the overal quality, although the animations were VERY smooth.
And the beam stacking thing is very nice, I actually got a bit annoyed at times cause I always had to change beams.
And besides, the Wii-mote doesn't have enough buttons to actually pull that off, visor-changing and weapon-changing.
I'll see how it turns out, but judging by the first two installments it WILL be good*drools*

If I were to judge it on the 2nd one, then it'd be boring & repetetive & have NOTHING to do with Metroid

Good stuff..Metroid Prime is a game that is improved greatly simply because of its graphics..*atmosphere*

I still havn't ever completed it, I'm somewhere near the begginning... I think I need to get the Space Jump next, but I just got plain bored of it... No interesting story, I don't like Luminoths... Nothing to compell me to complete the game....

Honestly though, I played until just after the space station, got bored, played it a year later, find out it's one of the best games ever.

Oh, I loved Metroid Prime 1, nothing bad to say about it, I got lost, it got a bit repetetive, but that's it, apart from that it's what I like to call a proper Metroid game. The story, the enemies, beams, suits, they're all that I would expect in a 2D/proper Metroid game.

Now the other MP games are where it goes wrong. Metroid Prime 2 has almost NOTHING to do with other Metroid games, apart from a few weird mutated Metroids & Phazon, which is only an MP thing anyway... Samus has no emotion in ANY Metroid Prime game, which is also pretty annoying.

& don't even get me started on MPH, althogh I can get it all summed up in one point. There aren't even any Metroids in it. That's how much of a Metroid game it is.

Honestly, after brilliance like Metroid Fusion, I'm nothing but disappointed by MP2 & MPH...

Single player MP:H was indeed quite shite, but MP:2 although it lost a lot of the Metroid universe was a great game, although I HATED the dark worlds..

I hate the Dark World too, which is where I am. & I hate the fact save stations are so rare & that you have to go back to it everytime you die/get lost.

I'm glad that Metroid Prime 3 has been delayed.

For a start I cant be arsed to play it just yet, and secondly I think this will be THE Wii graphics showcase of 2007.

Metroid Prime 1/2 on the GameCube looked incredible.

Halo & Halo 2 graphics are incredibly overrated. I mean the atmospheres are big & stuff, but the scenery & character models are really blocky, whilst absolutely everything in Metroid Prime looked smooth...

Metroid Prime 2 was a great example of a GC game with better graphics than PS2 or XBOX games... if I dare say... it has 360 quality graphics! *shot*

Hmm, great, now i can sleep well at night. The reviews for Downhill Jam DS have come in and it scored a 7.5-8 from what i read, it is a game i sugest you should try out.

Koushiar go for Red steel Far Cry is Fugggly and a far Cry from the Xbox versions. Besides the controls of Red Steel are said to be superior.

I was quite impressed with the E3 build of Metroid but it looked like a high res version of Prime 2 so it didn't really give me that "wow" factor so it's good to hear that they're going to spruce it up thus taking advantage of Wii's graphical capabilites.

Retro are a bunch of whores. They're sound whores, graphics whores storyline whores and control freaks. How else would you explain the fact that with each Metroid game they've tried to bring something new to the table not just by furthering the staoryline but by pushing console hardware as well. Not to mention the cool new Expert mode that really exploites Wii's controller as a a patented FPS device for consoles?
They're whores ans it's whores like this that we need not only for 1st party support but in third party developers as well that really see that we're getting our bucks/quid/ dosh's worth.

There is an interesting story, you just actually have to read it, and put some of the pieces together.....also the game is more to do with atmosphere than action.......

And don't doubt retro on that - they did great work, and i want to never hear you blaspheme again.

And you might be ok with MP3, it's gonna be more action based apparently.
