that survey pretty much sums up how sucessful the wii will be in Japan. More people favor innovation rather than a pricey and expensive system and one that was made in the states (which they of course, loathe).

This is great news for nintendoi as it guarantees sucess for wii as it was for DS.

That news just put a smile on my face...

Now if only Nintendo could convince the rest of the world to feel the same they would be unstoppable.

I hate gettin all positive on stuff like this to find that, yes, it sells well in Japan, but sells worse than pee-stained lemon-shaped elephant hooves in the US and Europe. I think the 'West' is a lot more PS3 and Xbox 360 inclined, not forgetting the vast amount of PS2 owners who weren't surveyed in that one (or any recent surveys, for that matter)

I am sure they will have enough dosh. Why do you think Peter Moore was on the Wii Bandwagon? Buy a Wii and 360 (Wii60), just not a PS3. A lot of people in Australia will and are buying 360's now and just waiting for the Wii after what Sony released. $1000 for a Blue Ray player, it's not convincing here yet.

I believe you have no idea really. The West may be this way, whatever, but the majority really want a Wii and will easily be able to afford a Wii and then will get either a PS3 or 360 for their "mainstream" gaming. One MGS4 is not going to justify a $1000 AUD expendature.

The gamedaily polls that I've bothered to have vote have shown similiar results. I think the gamers who are online and reading up about this kind of stuff are leaning to the Wii in general.

You just forgetting, that for example, in Germany there were a lot of Gamecubes being sold. But unfortunately Games did not sell as well, too. Maybe the expensive Games were not being bought. And these were the core-games.
